This is a great way to spend the day. Our guide Jude was caring, polite, engaging and informed. It was well-run and a good value. Some things to know before you go: (1) Check the Paris map to understand the lay of the land. We traveled far out of our way to simply meet up at 8:15 AM and then ride the metro right back past our AirBnB to get to Versailles! But that's on us, I guess. (2) The tour operator and the people who run the coffee shop where you meet up are one and the same. I don't think it was shady or nefarious, but it just feels like they should have been proactive in communicating that because it looks like double-dipping. (3) When planning your day, remember that you will be leaving your home at 7:30 AM and spending a long day getting to the cafe, andn then taking a metro, a train and then biking and walking until 3:30 PM. It is at 3:30 PM when you FIRST step inside Versailles and your guide is no longer with you. They are candid about this logistic. But I'm just saying this is a loooong day and the palace was jammed packed as we "started our day" there. If you can enjoy 90 min in the palace, then you start your trip home. That makes this close to an 11-hour excursion. I'll say it again: We really enjoyed it and I am giving a 5-star review. But the 3 points above are things I wish I knew, so I am sharing them here for you.

Awesome well rounded tour

Marley was extremely knowledgeable which made the tour exceptional. The whole day was fantastic. My family which included a 15,14 and 11 year olds absolutely loved it!
Go!

The gardens and palace were stunning. This nice surprise was the outdoor food market and a picnic on the grounds.
Informative, great guide, good bikes, saw things we wouldn’t have seen otherwise.

Marie Antoinette’s farm was great to see. We wouldn’t have seen it otherwise. Guide was entertaining, had great knowledge and presented it well. The castle was worth seeing.
Versailles Palace extravagance

Rachel our guide did an amazing job guiding us briefly in Paris before train ride to the lovely town of Versailles. Plenty of choices at the local market to buy yummy lunch for picnic in the beautiful grounds of Versailles acreages. Bike riding was such a great way to explore the town & acreage of Versailles Palace grounds. Palace was stunning & our guide let us explore in our own time.
Ride, learn and picnic with a friendly guide and companions!

Everything is very organized. You walk to the train, grab bikes and shop for the best picnic in an extensive market area. Bring backpacks and wine glasses! Bike to and through the gardens with Arturo entertaining you with fun, concise facts about the royal family. All bikes are new and have three gears and a basket. At the end of the tour spend as much or little time in the palace and ride the train back to Paris. One of our best purchases and days in Paris!

My husband and I had fantastic time on the Versailles tour. Well worth the price. The cafe at the meeting spot had outstanding coffee. The open market at Versailles had delicious food options for the picnic. Biking through the city with the group was easy. The gardens by bike were the way to go! Our tour guide was informative with fun tidbits of history. We would definitely do this tour and other Bike About Tours again.
Lovely day!

This is the best way to see Versailles. This was our family’s first visit to Versailles and we weren’t sure what to expect. We thoroughly enjoyed being able to see the grounds and all of the different areas. It was amazing!!! Our guide, Jude, was helpful and informative. Our tour only had 8 people on it, which was great. We saw other bike tours which had over 30 people. The palace itself was amazing but very crowded. When we arrived, we were sent to the market in Versailles to get items for a picnic lunch, this was a bit challenging but we were able to get sandwiches at a little bakery. I would advise anyone going to Versailles to do this bike tour.
Enjoy the outdoors + beautiful Versailles on this full day excursion

I had a very good experience on the tour. David was a terrific guide, friendly and full of interesting details about the site, which is gorgeous, and enormous! What I wish I had known: you get your money’s worth with this tour! For me it was a 12+ hour day. 1) Plan to walk b/w 15-20K steps plus ride your bike around the grounds. Being well rested and in decent shape helps a lot. 2) When you stop at the market to buy your lunch, get drinks and snacks too….I was surprised that our planned Chateau entrance happened around 4:30 pm. The plus side is the crowds were then fairly light. Think of this as a ‘enjoy the outdoors day’. then a self-guided tour of the main estate for the late afternoon. Thanks, David for your guidance and hospitality!
Great day

Did the Versailles tour as well as the Hidden Paris tour with them, then rented bikes for another day of independent Paris exploration. Great way to see the town and surrounding area of Versailles. Actually enjoyed the sights on the bike tour more than the palace itself.

Perfect day outside of Paris
Suzann_S, May 2023
David was a great guide and shared many insights about the history of the place; very knowledgeable and passionate! We loved the biking and wished there was a bit more of time to explore gardens by bike....loved the chance to shop the open market for our picnic, and also liked having the palace at the end to explore ourselves. All in all a perfect day!
Excellent way to see Versailles

Arturo was an awesome guide. He was funny, informative, and gave options for what the group wanted to do. No complaints
Marly's Versailles!
Patricia_H, Apr 2023
Marly was engaging, knowledgeable, super fun and the experience was outstanding!!!! We were given so much interesting history about Versailles, great food recommendations too!
Great tour with a word of advise.
Kelly_Z, Apr 2023
The bike tour was great. The weather was a little cold and rainy, but it was still a go. A word of advise. Make sure you listen to the free audio tour for the Versailles Palace that you can load up on your smartphone via a link provided when you arrive at the information desk inside of the palace. Our tour guide can not go with you inside, and didn’t inform us about the free link. But everything else was good. Enjoy!!!
Great bikes and spectacular gardens
mlamont, Apr 2023
The biking was the best part and the grounds of Versailles are spectacular! The bikes were really comfortable. Everyone was very relaxed even in the rain showers we experienced. We enjoyed getting to know some other people and Noel was a good guide.
