Traveler Tips

It’s a lot of walking and riding so wear comfortable shoes and clothes.
Be prepared for a long day of walking and biking, but to experience the whole of Versailles (most of which you'd likely never see on foot) is well worth it.
It's definitely a long and tiring day but absolutely worth it!

Very fun, highly recommend!

This tour is the best way explore the grounds of Versailles. After you get off the train, you visit the markets to buy your picnic lunch before grabbing your bike and starting the tour. After cycling through the gardens, you are given your entrance ticket to the Palace which you can walk through at your own pace. We loved having the option of staying in the town of Versailles for dinner before taking the train back to Paris. Vanessa did an amazing job coordinating our 15-person group, making sure we had more than enough time for our picnic and exploring the summer estates/Marie Antoinette’s hideaway. She also shared the interesting history of the palace and royalty with humor.
A tour guide with no experience
Regina_C, Mar 2023
The tour guide was very inexperienced, she should have a plan B in case of bad weather. We cycled in the rain all day instead of going inside of palace. When we arrived inside the palace of Versailles -around 4:30pm, we only had an hour to see everything, many of the exhibitions were already closed and the palace workers kept us moving fast pointing out the exit. I have done this tour before about 5 years ago and the guide had more knowledge on the history of Versailles. Unfortunately this time the tour was more about riding the bike in the rain and cold weather than spend time in the Palace.
a great tour

the tour was excellent, our tour guide Vanessa was an amazing person. I never felt rushed her time management was perfect her stories about the royalty very informative, we were a small fun group. the picnic allowed us to interact and get to know each other...the bike ride and tour of the grounds was the best
Beautiful and informative.

Tebow (spelling?) was friendly, light- hearted and very helpful guide. A really special experience! I’d go again in a heartbeat!
Excellent tour with fun guides!

Cecilia was a phenomenal guide! We loved this bike tour of the palace grounds- there's just too much to cover in one day on foot, and the bikes made things so much easier to see more of the palace! It was unfortunately a strike day, but our tour met on time and we got to Versailles as originally scheduled. Cecilia was super knowledgable and made our tour more of a conversation than a history lesson! Because of the strike we didn't get to see the Summer House but still got to see it from outside and hear about all of the history (and DRAMA!) before heading into town to a local creperie for lunch with our small group. We finished the day with entry into Versailles to explore on our own, and really easy instructions how to get back to the train station with our tickets to get back to Paris. This was one of our favorite tours of our honeymoon and Blue Fox comes highly recommended now! Don't be scared if you aren't an expert biker, this tour has lots of breaks and goes at a nice pace :) This is the best way to experience Versailles!
Best part of our trip to Paris!

The meeting place was easy to find. Antoinne was an amazing guide. He was knowledgeable, personable, and kept things moving while giving us the time to enjoy every part of the tour. This is the best way to see such massive property. Really, the only way to do the visit to Versailles. The timed entry worked perfectly.
Highly recommended despite some unexpected issues
Julia_V, Feb 2023
This tour was great! There were some problems: 1) there was a rail strike going on in Paris and it would have made things easier if someone had reached out the day before to confirm the event. Normally with other tours, I have received text or WhatsApp confirmations the day prior regardless of any unexpected events going on. It would be great if they did that for this, especially when there are rail strikes going on; 2) although we went ahead and boarded the train and visited a farmers market, we didn’t know if the palace was going to be open due to the strikes. We found out everything was open at 10:30 so we proceeded on the bike tour. Although it turns out the additional site, the grand Trianon and gardens, were actually closed when we got there; 3) one of the bikes in our group got a flat tire and so there were moments where we were standing around waiting for the guide to repair the bike. It ultimately wasn’t able to be fixed because the tube they had was the wrong size. HOWEVER, all of that said, I would still recommend this tour. Our guide, Cecilia, was terrific. She handled all of the unexpected issues beautifully with her bubbly personality. She worked hard to try to quickly fix the tires and kept the history lessons going while she did so. It was impressive. Thankfully there just so happened to be another guide attending the tour with us, and he gave the other visitor his bike and took the broken one back. When our guide learned that the additional buildings were closed, she took us back to town to eat at an amazing little crepe restaurant. So, we skipped the picnic but no one minded because the weather was too cold to enjoy a meal outside, and the food was much better! Despite the hiccups, the tour guide was amazing and did everything she could to ensure we all had an amazing day. And we really did! The bike tour was beautiful and so much fun. You couldn’t possibly see the entire grounds without biking them. Cecilia also gave us tips and told us where to focus our attention when visiting the palace in the afternoon. It was a great day!! Traveling back on our own was also easy. One more thing I would add is to bring gloves in cold weather. Thankfully they did provide gloves so my hands were kept warm, though they smelled unpleasant so I would suggest you bring your own. All in all, I would highly recommend this tour and would even do it again myself.
Very Versailles

This was a wonderful experience from start to finish! Our guide Arnaud was the best - knowledgeable, funny and engaging. Highlights were shopping at the amazing Versailles market for our picnic lunch, cycling through the beautiful Versailles gardens, the visit to Marie Antoinette's hideaway and fantasy village, and, of course the Palace of Versailles itself. Arnaud gave us great historical background which made the tour come to life. Our family of six loved every minute of our action-packed day.

DO NOT DO IT
Brooke_W, Dec 2022
NIGHTMARE OF A DAY!! NO NOT RECOMMEND! After riding another mile UP HILL TO RETURN THE BIKES to top it off we did not receive any timed entry! We were left at the front gate to fend the mob of people ALONE!! NEVER AGAIN!!
Bike tour

The most memorable part was the tour guide. She got me extremely interested in all the historical sites. She was lovely and entertaining and gave me great pointers on how to get out around Versailles and Paris. She made my birthday Paris trip even more amazing.
Worth every euro!
Leanne_P, Nov 2022
The market was superb, I felt like it was a day in the life. Our guide gave us the perfect balance between downtime to explore and insight. The bikes were an added plus. One of my favorite memories by far!
A perfect day at Versailles!
Becky_F, Nov 2022
This tour was great in every way! The visit to the market beforehand to buy lunch, cycling through the vast gardens of Versailles with occasional stops to visit sites and have them explained, the picnic on the lawn, and the subsequent visit to the palace made this one of the best days of our trip. Highly recommend!
Tibeaux was such a lovely...
Danyal_S, Nov 2022
Tibeaux was such a lovely guide and made the Versailles day trip that much more magical. His humor kept everyone at ease, and his expertise on not just Versailles, but French history as well, were phenomenal. Great conversation, not to mention stunning views of the entire grounds. You can't truly appreciate and understand the scale, nor see it all, without biking. There's something magical with starting the day with the palace in the distance, and seeing that picnic point hours later from the palace. Book this trip - you'll treasure the memories forever.
So fun!
Lisa_V, Nov 2022
The guide was knowledgeable and fun. The only downfall is we got to the palace so late it was closing so not enough time to see everything.
Honest Review
Harry_O, Nov 2022
Organized well and on schedule. My concern is the size of the event. Palace de Versalles is huge. Using my iPhone I recorded a walking distance of 11 miles for the whole day including walking the gardens. Maybe breaking up the event into 2 days would be more beneficial? One could spend more time at each location? The guide was clear and very helpful. The bicycles were Mediocre to say the least.
Fun, full day seeing an iconic site
Steven_H, Nov 2022
An even fuller day than we expected. Vanessa was a great, charismatic guide, who gave us some great history lessons while expertly showing us around the grounds of Versailles. She also did a good job handling a tough situation with a child who was clearly out of her element on a bike- keeping her safe and still getting the group of 13 where it needed to be on time. Although the tour says 7-8 hours, it will likely be 9+ hours from time of departure until you are back in Paris (maybe more depending on how long you stay in the palace)
Perfect Fall ( Autumn ) Experience.
ronald_g, Nov 2022
Arnaux ( Arnold ) was a very good guide. The picnic lunch at the canal was memorable . I had my camera ready as 4 swans took off and flew in the direction of the palace. ONE small bottle of wine was the RIGHT call for the picnic lunch . Versailles is MASSIVE and I felt like I needed a nap my mid afternoon. Two bottles of wine would have knocked me out ! Great day, overall!
Great tour
