What To Expect

Leave Paris for a full-day tour of two of the most popular day trip destinations outside the French capital, Louis XIV's Palace of Versailles and Monet's garden in Giverny.

Your first stop is Giverny, where Impressionist master Claude Monet lived from 1883 until his death in 1926. Walk across the Japanese bridge and gaze upon the water lily pond while you stroll the gardens that surround his former home. This picturesque landscape was the inspiration for many of his most famous paintings, including the Nymphéas series.

After a guided tour of Monet's gardens, it's time for a hearty lunch at the Moulin de Fourges. This 18th-century mill, inspired by the Queen's Hamlet, has been transformed into a restaurant and inn. From there, continue by coach to Versailles.

The opulent décor at the Palace of Versailles—once the extravagant home of King Louis XIV and Marie Antoinette—includes the Hall of Mirrors and the Royal Grand Apartments. On your guided tour, try to imagine daily life for the royal family. Then enjoy some free time in the World Heritage-listed Versailles Gardens and wander among the groves, sculptures, and fountains. On particular days, from April to October, they are part of a musical Fountains Show; if you're lucky you'll see this special display (cost included), set to the tunes of Louis XIV's era, before your day trip concludes with travel back to Paris.

This tour was beyond amazing.. Monat’s home and gardens, lunch and of course versailles was incredible. Our tour guide was great and knew all the history of these locations
Worth every euro!
Jessica_A, Oct 2022
Our tour guide Julian and our driver were wonderful guides. We are so appreciative of their efforts. The bus was comfortable. We were left to wander about the gardens with instructions to meet back at a certain time. It was plenty of time to enjoy the garden and the home. We then went to lunch at a restaurant a few minutes away. The lunch was served with three courses and wine. The pork was tender. We then went to Versailles. Julian walked us to the garden where he pointed out highlights and then gave us time to enjoy the gardens on our own. We met him at an appointed time and he gave us a tour of the palace. Our driver took us through some beautiful towns which was very much appreciated. A few days later, we saw Julian at the Louvre. It was like seeing an old friend. He was a wonderful guide.

Our guide was very informative. The Monet gardens were beautiful. And the lunch was much nicer than expected. Versaille is overwhelming, the amount of wealth at that time is just amazing.
Great Tour for my first time in Paris!

Definitely a high point of our trip to Paris. The Monet gardens were spectacular and Versailles was astounding.
Gorgeous Giverney
Katharine_M, Oct 2022
First time visit to Giverney. Beautiful weather. Gardens and water lilly pond were lovely. Monet’s home was wonderful. You can wander about on your own. Our gude was a bit of a schoolteacher. Reminding us at least 5 times of meeting time and place. I was corrected for not letting her know I went to meeting place on my own. I was there 10 minutes early. I’m a grownup.
Heaven and beauty
John_D, Oct 2022
The gardens of Monet were superb. The flowers, the colours and the ripple of the ponds was beautiful. Versailles was stunning, but crowded and difficult to move around. However we would not have missed this experience
Lunch and Monet!
Julie_P, Oct 2022
Our group actually enjoyed Monet’s house and gardens and the delightful and delicious lunch. Truly was very enjoyable! Versailles was beautiful but overly crowded as they had closed down in the morning and many groups were shoved in together in the afternoon which made it not so much fun. I highly recommend this tour regardless.
Terrific

The guide was phenomenal with the quantity of information provided. The bus driver was one of the best we’ve ever encountered. The lunch was terrific. No need to try another place. Boarding was handled efficiently.
Awesome tour guide

Very well organized with an excellent tour guide. Skipped the lines. Lunch was amazing at a French country side restaurant. So glad I booked this tour.
Inspiring gardens!
Nadia_T, Sep 2022
Such a great day trip from Paris, fantastic guide who looked after us well, only downside was not having longer to explore the gardens of Versaille. I would do this trip again when next in Paris!
Amazing tour!
Katherine_G, Sep 2022
What an amazing tour to see Giverny and Versailles. Thank you Nati for being a great tour guide for the day!! Lunch included was such a nice addition, eating at a quiet authentic French restaurant. Enough free time in Versailles to see the gardens!

Fabulous! We met in front of the hotel. There are a lot of tours meeting here but everything was very organized. We traveled in a large bus. We had a guided tour of the gardens at Giverny with time on our own to explore the house, church and town. We were in a small group but also had a head set provided so we could hear more easily. For lunch the menu was set. If you have dietary restrictions just tell the guide in the morning (a few hours before lunch) and they will accommodate. We had 3 course lunch with 2 wines and cider. After lunch we went to Versailles where we had a guided tour inside and time on our own in the garden. Would recommend to anyone. If you like Monet or his art you will enjoy seeing Giverny.
Just about enough time for everything except the gardens
Chad_O, Aug 2022
This was definitely one of the more memorable days during our stay in France. Giverny was absolutely beautiful, and lunch was amazing. The tour through the Palace at Versailles was perfect, and getting to skip the lines was definitely a big advantage here. Timewise, I felt we had enough time at Giverny, lunch and at the palace, but not nearly enough time in the Versailles gardens. If we could have had another hour or two and more importantly, told that we could rent carts to go around the gardens, that would have made this tour perfect. Either way, we really enjoyed this trip and would recommend it.
Great Paris Day Trip!
Chris_V, Aug 2022
Fabulous Day trip and tour guide, a must do while in Paris!!! We loved Monets home and of course Versailles was beautiful and lunch was great!
Bad service
Dmitriy_M, Aug 2022
1. Bus looks clean but when we sit down And opened table in front of us to place our phones and water bottles it looked like tables were not cleaned for years - dirty tables with malt. We closed and never opened tables. 2. Tour guide was nervous all the time, ‘lost’ and looked like she didn’t know how and where to get tickets. Tour guides from other much larger groups were more organized. For some reason after 30 minutes running around Versale palace ‘Group Ticket windows’ she ended up 2 tickets short for Versale garden. She realized that after we went inside palace. She was lucky since other tour guide had 2 extra tickets to garden. 3. Tour guide left us at the end of the journey at Versale Palace although we were on time at our meeting point. Tried to contact vendor ( only text available with vendor no phone number provided) but no response. Finally after 30 minutes we had a call from Paris City Vision ( turn out they provided this tour). I was glad that he called thinking that tour guide figure out that she left us behind and they will provide a solution. But instead he told me that ‘I MUST’ return radio devices that were giving us in the begging of the tour tonight by 8:00 pm in their office. No apology for indecent nothing at all. When I explained him what happened (tour guide left us behind and we don’t speak French and don’t know how to get back his response was that this is not his concern his main concern is how to get devices back. ) when we get back I called VIATOR in hope that they will return at least money that we spent on way back - train to Paris and taxi to the hotel. But nothing.
