Lovely food walking tour of Parma

We were lucky enough to have Michelle as our guide for the food walking tour. Her vast knowledge and credentials around food of the region made for a truly authentic tour of the city and the traditional foods. The food stops, the historical education, and Michelle as the guide, made this a wonderful memory of our time in Parma. Would recommend this to anyone who wants to experience the best of the region.

We had an amazing time on our food walking tour of Parma. Our local guide Roberta was absolutely fantastic, easy to communicate with in English and just a genuinely nice person who you could tell really cared about the experience she provided her clients. THANK YOU, Roberta. We all very much enjoyed our time together and glad we were all able to connect on many different levels. Roberta was knowledgeable beyond just the food that we tried along the tour. She knew the regional agricultural practices and local farms that brought the food to the table. She also knew the geography and its history which added a valuable layer of insight which we found absolutely fascinating as we walked the streets and met with local shop owners. We would highly recommend this private tour with guide Roberta for families with teenagers and older. You’re going to eat a lot of amazing food. Learn a lot of interesting things about Parma’s history and it’s food culture. And… You’ll walk all the calories off making your way on foot throughout the city! Lastly, if you’re staying in Milan this tour is an easy day trip via train. We left Milan at 11:00am, arrived in Parma at Noon for an easy 10 min walk to our meeting point. We were back to Milan by 6:00pm.

This tour was one of the best things we did in Italy! The guide was so knowledgeable not only about all of the food we tasted, but also the history and happenings of Parma. She pointed out additional things to do and was so friendly and welcoming. All of the food was delicious as well. They even made special accommodations and extra items for my food restrictions.

Michelle was so very knowledgeable about the region and the various foods we tasted. She told us so much history of the region that was helpful to understand how all the wonderful foods came to be what they are today. Each restaurant or shop we visited had the best cheese, pasta, prosciutto, wine, pastries and gelato. This is an excellent tour and Michelle was delightful in her presentation. We highly recommend.

Giulia was a great tour guide. This tour provides you with the history of Parma combined with the food experience. It is well worth it. If you are taking the morning tour (10am) do not eat breakfast. There is plenty of food on the tour and you will need an empty stomach.

This experience was just amazing! Barbara was a great guide around Parma and we really enjoyed chatting with her about Italian culture. We ate so much delicious food on this tour (all explained extensively by Barbara) that we didn’t eat the rest of the day! I wish the country I am from did not regulate cured meats because I would have come home with a large amount of the King Prosciutto di Parma!

Our guide brought the city of Parma to life for us. She was very personable and weaved in a wonderful history of the area to match the food.
