Grand daughters first trip to Big Apple

We really appreciated Viator going out of there way to find us, we were experiencing high traffic and we got to pick up area late. The guide and coordinator kept calling us to see where we were, told us where parking was available. Then found us and we were able to join the tour. We almost gave up. This could only happen in New York City and our tour guide Jim (Vinny from New York))private joke. As the grandpa who organized the trip that was above and beyond customer service. There were about a dozen of us on the tour. Our guide Bill had a little story to tell the group about each of our home states. Then told us many more about the birth of our nation and the persons responsible for it. Bill’s knowledge of historical trivia is unsurpassed. He kept it interesting for the full 2+ hours.

My family and I really enjoyed the tour! It was our first trip to Philadelphia and the tour was a great overview of important historical sites. My daughter is learning about the American Revolution, so this tour reinforced what she learned and also filled in some gaps thanks to our tour guide, Joseph, who was knowledgeable and answered our questions.

Great Tour Guide, Misleading your description

The tour guide was great and we did learn a lot about Philadelphia’s rich history, however the description of the tour is a bit misleading. We were under the impression that the tour included going in to see the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. We were only in town for the day and after two hours on the walking tour we still had to turn around a go back to everything that description of the tour included because we didn’t actually get to see any of that on the tour itself. Given our short time in the city we probably would have opted out of the walking tour had the description been more accurate.

It was a lovely tour. I enjoyed hearing about history all over again and adding more information to my knowledge. The guide we had made the tour fun. I particularly liked when the guide would quote our founding fathers and use the expressions and tones of voice that was used back in those times. It was like for a split second I was back in the 18th century.

We had a fantastic tour guide named Bill. He was extremely knowledgeable and engaging. Having someone who truly knows and loves history walk you through Philly’s historic sites is way better than any self guided tour. Over the course of two-hours, Bill painted a cohesive picture of what historic Philadelphia looked like and explained how pivotal it was in the founding of our country.

This was THE best tour I’ve ever taken. I take bus tours, boat tours, Segway tours, ghost tours, cavern tours, and walking tours ALL over the world. I give a hoot about history though, but even if you didn’t, our tour guide Ted is going to make you Google a few things for sure about US, French, and England’s history. In 2 hours we learned a lot from our tour guide. It was chilly out and our pace was great around The historical sites like Benjamin Franklin’s homestead and privy that he didnt use because he was Rarely in the colonies. Myself and my 18yr old niece both stayed interested in our guides juicy historical tea. From Martha Washington to Dr. Rush’s methods, without giving too much away, it was the behind the scenes tidbits that made us love this tour. We spent the rest of the day talking about what the catacombs might look like.

We really enjoyed this tour. Our guide Ted was very personable and knowledgeable. The weather was horrible, but Ted did his best to find dry enclaves for us to listen to his narrative of the founding fathers. We learned so much more than we would have by just going to the historic sites on our own. Plus we saw a ton of things we would have walked right by had Ted not pointed out their significance. I am a woman of a certain age. It's been a long time since I took American History. I got so much out of this tour and we had plenty of time to go back to the places we wanted to for further exploration. Highly recommend.
