Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Operating Schedule: Beginning at the Bourse Building right across from Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell, plug into our multi-lingual headphone audio to discover the origins of America, since Philadelphia is where America’s Founding Fathers first declared independence from England, and then ratified the US Constitution and Bill of Rights to start the new nation. Along the way, enjoy stunning views of such historic landmarks including the Christ Church Burial Grounds, Elfreth’s Alley, the Betsy Ross House, and Independence Hall, to name just a few. As you head west, see the Friendship Gate in Chinatown, be amazed by the architecture of Philadelphia’s City Hall, and be sure to explore the various museums along Benjamin Franklin Parkway, including the Barnes Foundation – known as the world’s largest collection of post-impressionistic art in the world. As you continue your journey, marvel at Philadelphia’s growing skyline and get a bird’s-eye view from atop the One Liberty Observation Deck. Your loop finishes up after touring through the charming neighborhood of Society Hill and a drive along the banks of the Delaware River.

Awesome

The narrators were knowledgeable and funny. I usually do the Big Bus tours while on vacation. Thanks again for another great trip.
MARVELOUS
Dennis_J, Sep 2023
Philadelphia was a lot prettier and historic than I thought. The host was fabulous and I learned Rocky didn't run up all the 72 stairs
Convenient and great service
Andrea_G, Sep 2023
Great service. We got picked up at our hotel. Very convenient to make the stops we wanted and to ride back again.
Scam likely???
Charlie_C, Aug 2023
The daily charges were not clear when I ordered. I was only in town for one day. I wasn’t paying attention but don’t remember having an option to chose only one day. I’m not sure but I think you have it set up that way by default. Otherwise, the tour was great 😏.

First time in Philly

Showing my granddaughter Philadelphia for the first time. She enjoyed all the famous sites but loved that she got to ride on the top level.
See the city and hear the history
Sabrina_A, Jul 2023
We loved hearing the history of Philadelphia and being able to visit historic sites easily. Each tour guide brought their unique viewpoints to the information they shared.
Not a good experience
Lucia_C, Jul 2023
We visited Philadelphia on a busy summer weekend. We hopped on the bus at the first stop (The Bourse). No room on the top so we had to sit on the bottom. There is no air conditioning and windows were closed. It got incredibly hot very quickly, so we were anxious to get off. The "tour guide" was horrible. He made inappropriate jokes. Called Betsy Ross a Pimp, Gangster and a Whore. Repeatedly talked about tipping him and the bus driver. He spoke very little about the history of the buildings and was more interested in making himself laugh. Buses were so crowded there wasn't room to hop back on. Philly is not a very big city so we ended up walking to the other destinations.
Great experience.

Ease of seeing the city. One of the stops was on the same block as or parking lot. We also were able to see every sight on our list.
2 day trip in Philly with the Family!
Carsha_O, Jun 2023
Great tour. Learned a lot of stuff about Philly! Liked that we had an option to stop and get off. It was not hard finding the bus stops. Took you to all the major sites and area. Did not give it a 5 because some of the buses could use a good clean but other than that it was a good adventure.
The double Dekker bus is a great way to see famous sites
Anna_D, Jun 2023
This double-decker bus is a great way to see the city. They go by historic sites as well as through the different neighborhoods. I will caution that it is very hot in June. Even though there was a nice breeze blowing we still got hot in the 90° temperatures even though we went in the morning. Just plan accordingly. They did say a few of the buses were air-conditioned, but ours was not so we elected to ride on the top. The driver was safe and the tour guide was informative. If you’ve never been to Philadelphia before this trip is highly recommended.
Great tour opportunity

Lots of information
Penny_R, May 2023
Rick was a great guide! We learned a lot! Remember Robert Morris! Go on the tour! Happy Memorial Day!
Good Ride but Wet Inside
Lois_R, May 2023
Seeing all the historic places with a great informative guide. Cant remember his name but the driver was Aaron. However dont go on these buses if it is raining. The two buses we were on leaked inside over the seat & I got wet & the 2nd bus was a little better but it leaked from the ceiling too. Not a good experience. Sorry!

We'll i guess we were there not in peak season the buses ran every 45 min v/s every 10....if i would have known i wouldnt probably have used this service. First time ever had issues with hop on hop off
Ok tour guide bare minimum service
Zheng_W, Nov 2022
Tour guide is fine, knowledgeable and did a good job. Other than that the whole service and everything else is just minimum - e.g we selected audio device when booking on Viator but it was not provided
No politics on tours please
YvonneMckercher, Nov 2022
The tour guide narrations were politically charged and geared towards mocking history. On vacation, trying to relax and enjoy the sights with kids, not listen to someone state that most US history is false and explain why Betsy Ross was a “loose” woman. I Actually got off at a stop and just started ubering around the city.
Best trip ever!
Roberta_J, Nov 2022
The bus tour was great! Hopped on and off numerous times so we got to see all the sites we wanted to see….would highly recommend to get a good overview of the city’s amenities….!
Hello, Philly!
Frances_H, Oct 2022
Our group of seniors (who thought we “knew” Philly) all learned something new , and we had a lot of fun along the way. Great way to see the city and get your bearings.
