Traveler Tips

It is a must-do if it's your first time in Philly and doesn't know exactly where to go or visit.
I would recommend some tree trimming be done by the city to make the journey safer.
The convenience of hop on and off is helpful, just this particular guide just was lacking knowledge and staying focus.

Awesome!
Barbara_G, Mar 2023
Learning about the Rocky statue, how it was moved from the top of the steps and then returned. However, after returning, it was no longer in its original spot instead, it was at the bottom of the steps. Remarkable!
A fun filled day!
Barbara_G, Mar 2023
The tour guide keeps reminding us to watch out for the tree branches so we wouldn’t get hit 😀. It was a fun experience.
Educational
Karen_G, Mar 2023
Tour guide very knowledgeable! Almost too much information. Lots to see and learn in the City of Brotherly Love
Not enough buses
Kerrie_K, Mar 2023
There were not enough buses and too many people, It was a big waste of precious sightseeing time. We ended ubering around the city.
Disappointed
Wendy_J, Mar 2023
We arrived at the independence visitor center SW corner of 6th and Market Street at 9:45am in order to secure a good spot on the bus. At which point we were told that this particular tour bus doesn’t run on Tuesdays by the gentleman in the visitors center. This came as a surprise to me because every confirmation I received stated that my requested date and time was for Tuesday March 7th at 10am. I even went on the web site to get in touch with the tour operator, I was redirected to a chat feature which I never got a response. At 10:30 we decided to leave and go off on our own disappointed because we deliberately chose this tour to maximize our one day in Philadelphia. Very disappointing to say the least and this company is refusing to refund us.
Good for transportation only
Leslie_A, Mar 2023
Final guide (ended day at stop 1 around 3:40) was disengaged and lazy. Feet up, solicited tips, bad stories. Not fun. Sad the stops along the water were not available. Overall, best way to get around and see main points but dont count on tour guides.
Ask for Bruce
Maria_V, Feb 2023
Bruce was our tour guide and he was excellent! He really knows his stuff and is personable and kind.
Ok,but
Diane_M, Feb 2023
While the narrator was excellent the tour was not a two hour tour as advertised but took slightly over one hour. We had wanted to see the zoo which was arbitrarily removed (as well as other stops in that area) but because of road closures multiple River front stops were eliminated. The wait time to get a bus after exiting for a stop was almost an hour. The explanation was that with it being Super Bowl weekend the ridership was expected to be light so fewer buses were being run. Waiting in freezing weather for buses that didn’t show up was frustrating. Th delays and the short run were less than a good experience. I would not book again.
Good in the summer, not in the winter
MIchelle_T, Feb 2023
45 minutes to wait for pickup is too much, especially in the winter. I'm pretty sure in the summer the wait is every 15 minutes which works better when trying to get off at multiple stops.
Very disappointing
junehannah3, Feb 2023
We were very disappointed in this tour. We had no idea when the bus would arrive and missed it several times because it never stopped. Unless you were standing at the bus stop. It would take 45 minutes to wait for a bus. There was a stop we wanted to go to and while we were on the way we were told they don’t go there even though it was on the map of destinations. We did not get our money’s worth. There were times when we were waiting for a bus and there were several buses lined up with drivers standing there talking to each other but were not taking passengers. Very frustrating.
Philly factual!
RITA_W, Jan 2023
Commentator on the bus was very knowledgeable and entertaining. People pertaining to big bus tours were very nice and friendly.
Excellent way to get around on a cold day
Caroline_C, Jan 2023
Tour guide Bruce was energetic and amazing. We learned so much! Only wish buses came more often (45 min interval is a bit too long)
The tour was a little too fast to take it all in.
Barbara_C, Jan 2023
Arriving at the Rocky statue. The buses were clean. The drivers surprising great at maneuvering the narrow streets of zphlt.
Great tour.
Javier_A, Jan 2023
Loved the museum of Arts, Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, and the terminal. Walked around the liberty bell which I enjoyed a lot. The tour is a great way to explore and learn about Philadephia’s history and places to visit. I would highly recommend not skipping the art museum, time just flew by for me at that amazing place.
Loved it !
Naeema_M, Jan 2023
It was a cold day in January , so we took the bus ride to look at the city. Our tour operator he was good.
It was my second time...
Wayne_H, Jan 2023
It was my second time visiting Philly and my first time experiencing the city tour by bus. It was an awesome tour, many historial landmarks, Museums and great history about Philadelphia.
Not dependable pick up times
Greta_L, Jan 2023
The first shuttle of the day didn’t show up. I was super early because I hadn’t realized it wasn’t supposed to get to stop 19 until 10:30, after being 30 min early we were disappointed when the first bus didn’t show. The company chat service told me, this stuff happens just wait for the 2nd bus which should be around in 45 minutes. Over an hour of precious vacation time wasted standing in the cold. Once the bus showed up the guide was great, the tour was fun. We had hoped to hop off at a couple of locations, but we’re only able to do the liberty bell. They make you exit the bus at this stop one. We used this time to check out the liberty bell and hurried back to ride the rest of the tour. We stayed on the bus the whole time to make sure we saw every stop. When they made us exit at the bell again we ate lunch, did the liberty hall tour, and walked through the Benjamin Franklin museum. By then the tour bus was finished running for the day. We felt like that extra hour would have given us enough time to ride to at least one other location to explore. It was a disappointment. The guide and driver were great. We really liked them, but disappointed in the fact the company does not seem concerned with punctuality or even offer an apology. Their attitude seems to be you can just stand and wait for when/if we decide to show up.
Left at the prison
Ardara_H, Jan 2023
We exited at the prison and was informed that the last bus would be 5:00pm, we were outside at the stop at 4:30pm. No one came, we phoned the number listed and it went to voicemail. We are from out of town and was stuck outside the prison. We had to Uber back to our vehicle.
Very irresponsible
AThomas_D, Dec 2022
My granddaughter became ill the day before. I did not feel it was appropriate to expose others on the bus so I attempted to cancel. It was 18 hours before the event and I realize the cancellation is to be 24 hours. I was declined the cancellation. Very surprised you are willing to expose you patrons to an avoidable illness
Our tour guide had lots...
Emily_M, Dec 2022
Our tour guide had lots of good information to share with the city. Sometimes these hop on trips aren't narrated by a real person. We were able to ask questions.
