A:No. Our vehicles are very safe and we leave the minimum age to the discretion of parents or guardians. All riders under the age of 18 must wear a DOT-approved safety helmet which we provide.

A:Drivers must be 16* years or older with a valid Driver’s License to operate a Tomcar.
(*Minor drivers, defined as 16 and 17-year-olds, with a valid driver's license may operate the Tomcar with Parents Assumption of Financial Liability.)

Q:What should I wear for the 3 Hour Guided TomCar ATV Tour through the AMAZING Sonoran Desert?
A:Our tours are “rain or shine”, so we recommend that all of our guests dress accordingly. During the winter months, it can be very chilly in the morning or after the sun goes down. Please come prepared (hats, gloves, etc.).

A:Yes. The Sonoran Desert is a gorgeous place. You will encounter some breathtaking views and will probably want to capture these memories by taking pictures. Also, our guides are more than happy to take pictures with your camera upon request.

Q:What happens if it rains on the day of my 3 Hour Guided TomCar ATV Tour through the AMAZING Sonoran Desert?
A:Our tours depart “rain or shine”. Please dress for the weather and expect the time of your lives. Our guests are (mostly) sheltered from the rain in their Tomcars however, you will probably get a little wet if it rains.

A:There are no restrooms once we are out in the desert. We recommend that guests use facilities located within the RoadRunner Saloon prior to departure.

Q:How safe are the Tomcars used for the 3 Hour Guided TomCar ATV Tour through the AMAZING Sonoran Desert!?
A:Tomcars weigh just under 1,800 lbs, boast independent front and rear suspension systems, and have a wide wheelbase making them one of the safest off-road vehicles in the World. And all of our Tomcars are equipped with a 4-point safety harness system.

Q:Will I have to share a Tomcar during the 3 Hour Guided TomCar ATV Tour through the AMAZING Sonoran Desert?
A:Most of our Tomcars are 4 seaters. Groups of 3 or 4 will have their own private car. Depending on the mix of guests that we have, a group of 2 may or may not have another group of 2 in their car.

You do get our and walk about a couple of places with cacti and climb some rocks for a view - recommend long pants, boots, and sun screen.

The weather was very bad, heavy rain, and the company only cared about their pay. I had fully mudded clothes and this ruined my whole trip to Phoenix. They know the weather is bad, and they should accept the cancellation. VERY Disappointed

Ammar, we are very sorry that you didn’t enjoy your experience with us.
Being that we are an outdoor adventure, our tours go out in different weather conditions everyday. That’s part of the adventure! We are a “rain or shine” event, as marketed on our website and TripAdvisor. We absolutely don’t hide that fact, and many of our guests enjoy when we have rainy weather.
We do cancel tours if the weather presents a safety risk for our guests, or the equipment. However, that day there was no risk because of the weather.
We were not asked to cancel. Someone who booked the tour for you (they weren’t with you) used their contact info for the booking so we couldn’t speak directly to you. They did email us asking about the tour, but we told them we go out rain or shine.
Because you booked through TripAdvisor/Viator, your tour was not able to be canceled per the booking policy listed on the page. However, you never expressed concern with us, asked to he rescheduled, or even actually requested a cancelation.
So, to say we only care about the money would be egregiously incorrect. We can’t address your concerns if your concerns aren’t presented to us.
We absolutely care about our guests and their experience. That is our absolute top priority along with safety. But again, we are an outdoor adventure company and all of our activities are outdoors in the weather Mother Nature provided that day.
In the future, if you have a concern, please make that known ahead of time. It’s a bit unfair to have my hands tied when we receive a 1 star review without ever knowing you had a concern.

Great views, fantastic desert experience, got to see wild donkeys, and great guides.
It was definitely a unique desert off-road experience in these buggies. Lots of fun and great guides to make the event a complete family blast. Know before you go in you are going to get dusty. Bring your own eye wear and know its desert off roading. So glad we had the experience with Desert Wolf. A unique part of our vacation!

Travis and Mike were incredible. They were knowledgeable, helpful, fun, and made the adventure the best. Our kids loved it and so did we. We learned so much about the Sonoran desert and they made Lear I feel fun. Ample stops along the way and it was super cool to have this rugged drive on amazing scenery. Something we don’t get on the east coast. Travis even recommended a lunch place that was truly local and we loved it! Highest recommendation for these guides and this trip!

Travis and Mike were fantastic guides! They were very knowledgeable and entertaining. They gave great instructions on how to drive the TomCar. We really enjoyed the facts they shared about the plants and wildlife during our stops. The drive was really fun. We had 3 generations in our group (10 and 12 year old boys, a mom and a grandma) and everyone had a blast. Plan to get dusty and plan to have fun!

Derik & Brandi were great! Between the on trail repairs, information, and terrain…I’d do it again. This isn’t a desert dune buggies or racing trip though, if you’re looking for something like that. The meetup spot is also a nice saloon that has real bull riding, bands, and is definitely western!
