What To Expect

Your comprehensive Grand Canyon day trip begins with an incredibly scenic flight in a Cessna airplane to the West Rim of the canyon. Hear informative narration from your expert pilot while you soak in views of the Grand Canyon and other parts of Arizona's amazing landscape. Take a quick helicopter ride down to the bottom of the canyon.

Walk out on the Skywalk—a clear platform that extends over the edge of the canyon's sheer rock cliffs, providing heart-racing views of the canyon floor far below. Then, visit Eagle Point for a Native American cultural experience: see a village with authentic Native American homes; enjoy a short performance.

Have lunch (included) at Guano Point on the rim of the Grand Canyon, and do a little hiking if you wish. The views of the canyon and the Colorado River are spectacular.

Fly back to the rim of the canyon to reconnect with your airplane pilot for your return flight to Phoenix.

Either schedule hotel pickup or meet your pilot at Deer Valley Airport. There, receive a safety briefing and orientation to your aircraft, along with a radio headset that allows 2-way communications while in the air. Travel in either a Cessna Caravan or T207; both are high-winged airplanes perfect for taking photos and sightseeing from the air. Every passenger has a window seat with unobstructed views. Your tour ends with return to your starting point after a memorable tour.

We had the best day ever. I would highly recommend! We brought our daughter to celebrate her birthday - she was very apprehensive about flying on a small plane and helicopter but loved it and wants to do it again. Everything was well planned and orchestrated. We were taken very good care of. Loved it!

The tour advertised a boat cruise as part of the package and we paid for it but the supplier did not take us on a boat cruise and neither did they offer price adjustment or replacement as-well be warned the helicopter does not take you down closer to the colorado river, if you would like to touch the water or really be down at the canyon then it's a long hike down.

The tour itself was very nice however I had set up transportation from our hotel to the airport for our tour through Viator. And was assured per Viator staff that transportation would pick us up On the morning of the tour and that the transportation personnel would text us close to pick up. No one ever came and I had to call Viator and was just told sorry no one was able to pick us up and we had to scramble around at the last minute to get to the airport for our tour. I can’t understand how I could be told transportation was set up but no one came. I even double checked with you and spoke to one of your employees on 5/25/22 to be sure everything was in order and was assured by Eve that it was . Needless to say we won’t be booking any future tours with you.

From the moment we arrived to the terminal everyone was fantastic. Lindsay was great the other young lady (forgot her name) was very welcoming. Tom the pilot was awesome he entertained my sons million questions and he was very knowledgeable about the area. Would definitely come back to them!

Lynsi and Brandon made our day even more memorable than we could have imagined. Lynsi, made sure we had all precise information before, during and after our tour. We were given a family photo as our departing gift. Plane flight was smooth and Brandon made us feel very comfortable and shared great facts about the area. We booked this trip for 3 couples, all family. We booked through trip advisor/Westwind airlines. They were very accommodating, friendly and knowledgeable. John was our agent and he answered all our questions! On the day of our trip, We were greeted by Lindsey at the office and informed to use the bathroom, get some snacks and water for our day trip, and introduced to out pilot Josh. We were informed two young ladies would join our group and they were slot of fun. Westwind air was clean, staff very friendly and really took care of us! We loaded the plane and was off on time, precisely at 7:30 am. We arrived at the west rim about 8:30. We unloaded and we’re taken by bus to the west rim entrance, gift shops and restaurant. Josh took us to the gift center, bathrooms, and then we were lead up to the west rim skywalk. We packed away all our belongings and went out on the skywalk. The only disappointment of the day was the glass skywalk... it was dirty and the gentleman taking our photos was not into our group.. we came out with 12 photos of three couples... the two other gals included with our group had a photographer who was really into these ladies... this photographer took a lot of poses and pictures of these young ladies. After this session we went down to the gift shop at the skywalk rim and were given about a half hour to shop. We then were lead up together to the dining room, where we seated at three tables and given a choice of four menu options and drinks. The food was excellent. We spent about an hour here, then back to the gift shop. We then were bussed to Eagle point where we could hike and had beautiful views of the canyon and got some great panoramic photos. We then were bussed back to the terminal where we walked to the helicopter area. We were instructed by video of what to expect on the helicopter tour, and waited about 45 minutes or so for the helicopter. We were in the helicopter headed to the canyon basin. This was exhilarating and breathtaking... upon arrival we were let off the helicopter and walked down a slope and steps to the Colorado river where we boarded a pontoon boat and was taken on a guided tour down/of the Colorado river. Theresa, our tour guide was very informative and took a lot of time with our group. We then climbed back up the stairs to wait for the helicopter and again loaded and taken on a scenic ride back up the canyon side back to the terminal. It was the highlight of the trip! We then walked back to the terminal where our pilot Josh met us and we walked back to the plane terminal and loaded up and headed back to Phoenix. We arrived back at 3:30. It was a fun filled exciting day. The airplane flight was so gentle and smooth, as was the helicopter ride! We feel this was the best way to witness the Grand Canyon. We saw and experienced more in this 8 hour day then we ever could have on our own. All costs were included for entrance, skywalk rim, lunch, bussing, helicopter and boat ride. We did tip our pilot, our helicopter operator and boat guide. This was definitely worth the cost of the trip! Every aspect of the trip was well thought out, entertaining and accommodating!

Highly recommend this day trip to the Grand Canyon. What a way to first see the Canyon - from the plane! The helicopter ride alone is worth the trip. The ride down and back on the Colorado River and the Skywalk - just icing on the cake!
