Longer than the tour...

Longer than the tour needed to be, could have been cut in half. Not much to honestly see other than the leaning tower.

Thank you very much for your feedback. Pisa is a 3 thousand old Tuscan Medieval university city, birth place of Galileo and Fibonacci among others. The idea that "not much to honestly see other than the leaning tower" is clearly a bizzarre personal opinion that have nothing to do with reality. And yes, the tour is long. Long enough for those who want to know more about the City. It lasts 2.5 hours + half hour for climbing the Tower. Everything is clearly stated and described step by step in the section "What to expect".

I do not fault the guide. He was good. The tour on the other-hand was not. I mean, we are in Pisa and we wandered through the town for 2 hours before getting to the tower. This tour includes going into an H&M store to see the architecture. In fact, there were 2 tours in the group. One was the City tour and the other included the church and tower. This left us with no time for pictures at the tower. We ended up leaving the tour so we could rush through the church, get our pictures and climb the tower. We had to RUN for our train. You have to realize that the tower climb is a timed ticket. You aren't skipping a line. The climb is schedule after the 3 hour tour and is not included in your timing. Much less time in the city, and more time at the tower, church and old city wall, which you can walk on. In the city, it would have been better if, for example, you took us to a great gelateria, or best Pizza in Pisa, etc. Again, I don't fault the guide. This is a problem with the tour. It's stretched out way to much to make it a longer tour, but it doesn't have to be that way.

Hi Mark, thanks for taking time to write a review. Costumers feedbacks are always useful in order to give a better service. But probably in this case there was certainly little attention in reading the tour details which are clearly stated in the "What to expect" section. This section clearly describes the tour program in detail step by step and its duration. It is specified that the waking tour lasts 2 and a half hours plus thirty minutes to climb the Leaning Tower. Total 3 hours. Tour start it's at 9:45am, end of services at around 12:45pm plus the time needed to collect bags at the cloackroom when used. Concerning the Tower climb, you left the tour in advance and got to the entrance of the building on your own with no assistance of the accredited tour guide, needed in this specific case. Clearly this is not a suitable tour for travellers on a tight schedule. Best regards. David - Pisa Explorer

Great to get some history of Pisa the town and the powers that moved here so long ago. Tour ended in the Cathedral Square and a walk up the leaning tower. The highlights were the history and beauty of the town around the tower.

PISA - A must see with our guide

It was sad to hear that Pisa is just a city with THE leaning tower. Not so! We had a fantastic guide, David, who took us on a walking tour of Pisa. We walked to the Keith Haring wall, through the shopping streets (with restaurant suggestions), to the oldest hotel, etc. And, ultimately, seeing 4 leaning buildings! David explained everything to us. We were all amazed. Of course, the tickets included walking up THE leaning tower which is a must. The steps going up the tower are “grooved”, not flat and may be slippery if wet. So, just take caution walking up and down. Great excursion!

David did an amazing job giving us the history of Pisa and showing us parts of town we wouldn’t normally visit. I enjoyed the stop at the Royal Victoria for the view and stepping back in time. The fast pass part of the ticket was fabulous fir the Leaning Tower and the cathedral. It was interesting without being overwhelming.

We didn't read carefully enough what this tour entailed and had planned something else that overlapped it, so we had to cut the tour short a bit. But our guide, David, was very friendly and knowledgeable about Pisa. I learned so much in the short time we were with him. He was also very understanding of our mistake. I enjoyed the town of Pisa, it wasn't as crowded as some of the other places we had been. David sincerely wanted us to understand the history of Pisa. He was a delightful guide, it was very obvious he cared about the tourist and also loved his city, Pisa.
