I did not sign up for the tower climb but I highly recommend this tour for those interested in the Baptistery, Cathedral, and Leaning Bell Tower!

I have used Viator before, and always found the guides very helpful, adding much to the visit.

Would recommend this tour as a way to skip the queues.

Fabulous and informative tour

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour which was well paced with free time allowed as well as time with our guide. We had the pleasure of Alessia as our tour guide who was definitely the highlight, she was so friendly, knowledgable and funny despite no doubt doing the same tour daily! All in all a lovely way to see the Square of Miracles.

Our guide Alessei was knowledgeable and entertaining and provided an excellent overview of the history of the buildings and their construction. She gave us enough time to ask questions and also to explore each place on our own. She made the experience very pleasurable and memorable

This was an excellent tour. The headsets enabled us all to hear the guide clearly. She was friendly and enthusiastic. The tour ends with you receiving your tickets for going up the Tower (if you chose this option) and she explained about the cloakroom procedure. It's worth going up the Tower, you feel like you can feel the lean and the views are great.

Art and History of Pisa

This was a great tour of the two main sites at Pisa and the main area. Our tour guide gave a thorough explanation of the Pisa Cathedral as well as the Baptistry. Anastasia also took the time to explain the history of Pisa, the Medici Family influence, and a lot of great little gems about the area. The tour was informative, but be aware the time includes the time to climb the tower which is done independently. Climbing the tower on our own was great because we could set our own pace. It is an intense climb even if you are athletic. The stairs are extremely slick, but overall worth the climb. Having a tour guide was great, but I just wish the tour was a little longer since we loved listening to her with all the details. This is not an ideal tour for those with young children, as it is mainly geared towards those interesting in learning about the history of the art and architecture. Anastasia was great and you could tell she enjoyed being a tour guide and helping others enjoy the experience. Ps - if you’re going in summer bring a fan or an umbrella as it can get extremely hot and stuffy.

We really enjoyed this tour!! The tour guide was very friendly and kept track of the group well, with plenty of moments to take photos of all the sights to see. She was well knowledged and shared MANY theories about what we saw. EXCELLENT!!!

Walking tour of Pisa

We were on a cruise when we booked a walking tour to Pisa. Unfortunately, we had a nightmare getting to Pisa on time and we're to late to do the tour. However, the tour guide was extremely helpful and arranged to meet us to give us our ticket so we were still able to gain access into tower,cathedral and baptistery. We were really grateful as we were on limited time.

This was a really good tour of Pisa’s key monuments with a great tour guide (Alessia) who was entertaining and informative. Well organised all the way through from the Baptistery to the cathedral to the timed entry to climb the leaning tower. We took time after the tour to visit the cemetery (your entry ticket also covers this although it’s not part of the guided tour) which has some incredible frescoes. If you are heading to Pisa from Florence by train, it’s worth going one stop further on from Pisa Centrale to Pisa San Rossore as it’s a much shorter walk (about 5 mins)!

One of the most enjoyable experiences on our trip to Italy.

Looking at the buildings and climbing the Tower was a wonderful experience, the guide was knowledgeable but the headset equipment was ‘tinny’ and cheap meaning we couldn’t always understand what was being said by the guide who spoke very good English (sometimes too quickly) even for English natives. It’s a pity about the ‘lucky lucky men/ women wandering round pestering and trying to force hand made bracelets onto people (including children). Trip up the tower was well organised and ran to the milli second like a military operation - don’t be earlier than your time or you will be turned away and certainly don’t be late - they won’t let you in. Quick tip ladies - there is a need to ensure modesty when going up the stairs lots of other people are behind you looking up!!!!!! Not intentionally but it’s a natural thing to look upwards as the stairs are steep and you need to look up.

The tour exceeded our expectations! We were in Pisa for just a few hours and needed to maximize our time. My husband was not keen on any tours and just wanted to go up the leaning tower. However, we were both so glad we did this. The guide was a great storyteller who was knowledgeable, entertaining and funny. It was easy to hear her and follow along because everyone was given a radio and a headset. And there was plenty of time to explore each building on our own. Highly recommend.

The tour was average, nothing special. One suggestion I have would be to have the cathedral be the last stop since you can’t go back in after your ticket is scanned. That way people could remain in there and have an opportunity to really examine all the art. Just a thought. I wouldn’t recommend it to people not because it was bad, but because I think a person could get the same information if they just bought the tickets and download an online guide. I think that would be sufficient. It’s not that the tour was bad, just nothing extraordinary.

This tour, and Alessia as our tour guide in particular, was excellent all around! Perfect amount of time - comprehensive but also not too long. We were able to skip the lines and see everything, and get a wonderful experience of learning about the three main buildings (baptistry, church, bell tower) as well as walk in/around/up all of them. I can't say enough good things about Alessia. She is knowledgeable, funny, clear; one of the best tour guides we had on our entire two week trip that included many tours. Highly recommend, and definitely ask for Alessia if you can!
