Great trip to Pompeii

The guide was very friendly knowledgeable and had multiple interesting stories and brought the period to life. Great sense of humor and relevant comparisons to life today. Would highly recommend Dario for any trip.
Terrific sites but disappointed by lack of organization on tickets and travel.

The guide was excellent and knowledgeable and prepared to work at our pace and interests. Very disappointing was that we thought in buying a private tour, the least we would have expected was that the entrance tickets to both Pompeii and Herculaneum would have been pre-purchased and we would not have to join queues in the sun to buy our own tickets. Secondly, the transportation between Pompeii and Herculaneum should have been provided as part of the service. Again disappointing to have to get our own train tickets to get to Herculaneum and then return to our hotel in Pompeii. The travel from hotel and between sites should form part of the package for a private tour.

We travelled to Pompeii and Herculaneum from Naples to enjoy this tour with Raffaele. We were met at the entrance where Raffaele took care of the tickets and asked us what we were most interested in seeing at Pompeii. His wealth of knowledge, having worked as an archeologist at Pompeii, was evident from the very beginning. His passion for the site, it's continual restoration and bringing history to life was fantastic. He shared his wealth of knowledge of Roman life and the events surrounding the eruption of Mount Vesuvius. After a short lunch break we travelled to Herculaneum where we enjoyed a further detailed tour with a range of highlights from beautiful atriums in Roman Villas to exquisite mosaics. This tour is a must if you want to truly understand the historical site and get the most out of your trip. Raffaele is undoubtedly the future of archeological sites of such importance and you're missing a trick if you don't book on this tour. We just wished we had booked on to his tour of Naples!

Roberto was our tour guide to Pompeii and Herculaneum. Right off the bat I could tell that he was very knowledgeable and passionate about the sites. My fiance and I are both scientists and we both felt completely satisfied by his answers to the technical questions we asked from archaeology methodology, geology, history to even local flora. Was an amazing experience and would highly recommend this tour and guide!
