Lello is the best!

We had a family friendly tour for two families, with five kids age 9-14. Our guide, Lello, was so informative and kept the children and adults entertained. He led a 3 hour interactive tour, teaching the children and adults and injecting humor along the way. He would quiz us on what he taught us, but in a way that was fun. I’ve toured Pompeii once before without a guide and the experience wasn’t nearly as meaningful as spending it with someone who could bring the city to life with his words. Definitely take this tour!

To anyone planning a trip to Pompeii - this is the way to do it! Our guide was Francesca. From the first minute we met her to the very last she completely captured our and our kids’ attention and imagination. Francesca is a wealth of knowledge (having done a classics degree and a fluent speaker of Ancient Greek and Latin) and very obviously has a passion for the ancient history and culture. She also has a fantastic ability to connect with kids which is crucial for the task that requires kids walking around for 2.5 hours listening to large amounts of new information. She was great, we all enjoyed the tour and learned a lot and the kids in particular absolutely loved it!

Roberta was the best guide we've ever had! The kids had a blast. We had a blast. The hours just flew by. We learned a lot. Roberta imparted a lot of knowledge, while still keeping it really fun and interesting. Of all the Viator tours (we did 4 in Italy), this was the best one!

Wow…so glad we booked this trip! Travelled with my mother and two children 8 and 11. Maria was engaging, inspiring and informative. This tour was excellent. I can’t thank our guide Daniella enough for engaging our kids (10 and 12) and really bringing to life the city of Pompeii. She was articulate, extremely knowledgeable, and brought the Roman lifestyle to life in an amazing way. She kept our kids interested over more than two hours of information. She also had an IPad to show what each house would have looked like at the time, which was really impactful for our two. Thank you Daniella, for one of the best tours we experienced in Italy.

We did quite a few tours over our 5 day trip to Rome, and this was by far our favourite. We travelled down to Pompeii from Rome and the train was delayed so we were slightly late for the start of our tour. But the tour company was very easy to contact and we were able to arrange a delayed start time and found our guide easily. Our guide, Roberta, was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of information with us in a friendly and interesting way. We walked across Pompeii for hours in the afternoon heat in the middle of a heatwave, yet neither of my children (age 10&12) complained once, because they were so caught up in the information Roberta gave them and the "scavenger hunt" challenges she set them. One the way back from our holiday, days later, my children could still recall much of what they learned at Pompeii (which is not always the case from tours!). Pompeii is a great architectural site to visit, but I don't think we would have got anything like as much out of it without a guide like Roberta. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone going to Pompeii. Its well worth the cost. Its also worth it as a day trip from Rome as well - just be aware the site is about a 2/25 min walk from the train station and there aren't that many taxis in the town, so you need to plan time for this going and coming!

Roberta was an excellent guide. She brought Pompeii to life for my kids. The three hours flew by and all of my children (5,7,9 and 12) enjoyed the tour and retained a great deal of information. Her English was exceptional. I would recommend this tour to any family.

We loved the Theatre, the villa that you could go inside, the farm, the marble chips, the Forum, and the guide. Funny and smart

Leslie was great! We took our three children to Pompeii on a hot morning/afternoon. Lello was funny and smart and kept the kids entertained the whole time. He really made Pompeii come alive and we could begin to see what it was like to live there. We had three private tours on this holiday and while they were all excellent Lello was the best of the guides. I highly recommend him.

Eravamo un pò preoccupati di far vivere un'esperienza così impegnativa a dei bimbi di 8 anni. La nostra guida Loretta è stata meravigliosa, è riuscita a renderli partecipi sia con il suo racconto così al loro livello sia con la splendida idea della caccia al tesoro (a premi, ma non vi dico quali ;) ) con la quali si sono sentiti davvero coinvolti. La guida faceva domande ai bimbi e questo ha aiutato a tenere alta la loro attenzione, a farli partecipare attivamente e quindi a non annoiarsi e non ultimo a imparare cose interessanti che serviranno loro anche nel percorso scolastico. La nostra guida Loretta, trasudava cultura e conoscenza del territorio. La sua passione e rispetto per la storia e i tesori di Pompei non sono passati inosservati, ma al contrario, ci hanno contagiato.
