Great self paced tour if you like to go at your own pace.

Pompeii is a very unique site and something to be seen. We spent just 2 hours there but think 3 would be about right because it was crowded. Unfortunately, we lost about 40 minutes looking for the “office”. Don’t GPS the address, it will take you the wrong direction and uphill. The office, which is a stand in the market area, is right by the entrance hiding in plain sight.
The audio was informative but following the map and lining it up with the audio numbers was a little challenging. However, when we figured out the correct spot and lined up the audio it was well done. This was a do it yourself no frills excursion. The line was not long when we went so skipping the line wasn’t a feature we needed.

The place was easy to find and get audio quickly and skip the line was nice. The audio players did not go very loud so therefore made it very difficult to hear especially when there were numerous other tour guides around you yelling at their group. Also the map they gave us did not match the numbers or names on the ruins and very difficult to know where at.

I had used Viator several years ago on a trip to Rome. I trusted that it would be as good as that, so booked the audio tour with them for Pompeii.
We struggled to find the booth that supplied the audio guides, and were sent in several direction in 35 degrees heat before we eventually ( some 45 minutes later) found it nestled in between a cafe and numerous souvenir stalls.
The man was brusque and not very talkative and not particularly welcoming.

Audioguide doesn't mean earphones!

We were given a hand-held audioguide. Everyone else we saw had earphones but we had to hold ours up to our ears which made very tired arms in the Roman heat. For the life of us, we couldn't match up any numbers on the audioguide with any numbers on the actual sights we were looking at. All in all, very disappointing!

What a Cluster F....

Oh where or where do I begin?? Well, besides the absolute fiasco it took to actually get to Pompeii which should of taken 30 minutes from Napali Centrale, now included a 3 hour train trip thanks to issues with the tracks, we finally arrived in Pompeii. The description as to where to pick up the tickets was incredibly vague. We couldnt find the place and ended up getting sent to four different locations in an attempt to find our tickets. Even putting in the GPS location into GoogleMaps didn't locate the place. So after 3 trains, and another hour running around trying to locate our tickets BEFORE being able to even enter Pompeii 2.5 hours AFTER of entrance time.
Once we finally were inside, it was incredible. Highly recommend to Viator to come up with a way to simply email an entrance ticket to avoid the hastle of trying to locate a redemption location in a foreign country.

Awful experience

We couldn’t find the location to get the tickets and no one we asked knew where it’s, so we ended up buying tickets again. We walked around for an hour in the heat. We would like a full refund.

As per product and voucher description, customers are requested to redeem their voucher at the office (we are just in front of the Pompeii archaeological area main entrance). The address and contact number are clearly reported on the voucher. You should contact us and our staff could easily come and assist you. If you can provide your mail address, we will scan and send you tickets prebooked and prepaid for you.

As per tour description, customers are requested to report at the office to redeem the voucher and collect the official tickets and the Auduoguide. The office is regularly open from

Don’t waste the money

Couldn’t find place to get tickets very bad experience. Got so hot and tired just trying to find location I couldn’t go into Pompeii because I’m disabled and the search just to get tickets exhausted me too much to even go. It was a waste of money and loss of a lifetime dream to see it. It took us 2 hours to find location because no one knew where office was and we didn’t have phone to call and no one let us use theirs till we were in tears.
