    Brings Pompei To Life

    We visited in December, the original guide could not make it so Mario had to replace him - he was fantastic! The pacing was good, he was friendly and funny. He was knowledgeable and great at answering questions too. I was really looking forward to Pompei and I'm glad that Mario did not disappoint!

    The tour guide had a great sense of humour, involved some of the group members, showed great parts of Pompeii including the ancient brothel with visual menu on the walls. The only complaint is that the meeting point was unclear, it pointed to a point on the map that seemed close to the camping spots at the end of the parking, when it was actually at a hotel near the front of the parking. There were other people from the group there also confused about it.

    In order to understand Pompeii and its complexities, you HAVE to have a guide. There are things about Pompeii that we would have completely missed if we didn't have our knowledgable guide giving us some background info on this surprisingly sophisticated culture. Not to mention, it was super hot and crowded, so having a guide take us around to see the important highlights was a bonus. My two teenagers said it was the most interesting of the tours we had been on.
