Very interesting place to visit
Zoran_M, Mar 2023
It is an amazing site definitely worth visiting. You can get a sense of how people were living there.
Excellent Tour Guide

Our tour guide did a great job of keeping everyone together and entertained in the midst of the heat and crowds. A lot of info packed into 2 hours- perfect!
Funny and friendly tour...
waifai_k, May 2022
Funny and friendly tour guide. Abit rush but it’s alright given a big area to cover in just two hours.
Great tour!
Stacy_S, Mar 2022
Our guide Ellisa was fabulous. She was knowledgeable, kind, and funny. This was an excellent way to be introduced to Pompeii. The ruins came to life. Highly recommend.
lack of respect
Miguel_G, Jan 2022
I would have rated 5 stars EXCEPT that the guide was criticizing the Catholic Church every two sentences "Everything in the old world and in the new world was to blame on this religion" . I am not an exceptional believer but it is a lack of respect to many visitors of any religion. Very shameful situation.
Awesome Pompeii

The Pompeii tour was awesome as was our tour guide. She was very helpful and friendly. I would have loved to spend more time there.
Highly recommend

Francesca was our guide and she did a great job! She has a sly sense of humor and made the tour really fun. She did a great job of pointing out obscure facts and bringing Pompeii to life.
Great tour by Maria
Heidi_P, Jul 2021
Our guide, Maria, did a great job showing us the most important and interesting things about Pompeii. She was very engaging and entertaining and answered all of our questions. Joining the group and finding where the tour started was a bit confusing but once we found our guide we were good to go! Definitely bring a hat, water, and lightweight clothing if you go in summer. There is very little shade!
Insightful, fun and good value for money

Elissa was excellent! Very knowledgeable and friendly, with just the right mix of facts and interesting anecdotes. Who knew that the width of a donkey's backside was a key measurement in launching a space shuttle?! 2 hours simply isn't long enough to do the site justice so allow yourselves more time and take heed of Elissa's tips on what to see during the rest of your visit alone.
A short visit to Pompeii
Unda Z, Nov 2019
The guide was quite knowledgeable and the information given was interesting. However it seemed that she's is completely against answering any questions and seemed a bit condescending (maybe just her way of speaking). It's also quite hard to find the group and the guide. We stood exactly in the meeting spot, but still had to call and ask where the rest of the group is. Only then someone came to pick us up. Also if you're taking only the Pompeii tour (without Vesuvius and/or Naples), we would recommend staying a bit longer in the archeological park and walk around on your own, because the guided tour is quite short and a bit rushed and there are so many other things to see.
Disappointing - not worth the money. Distracted mediocre guide.
Yoram H, Oct 2019
Started late by 30 minutes. Maria, the guide, had good english but was tired and distracted. The tour was mediocre. Not worth the money.
Worst tour ever. Big ripoff
Stephen D, Oct 2019
Guide did not introduce himself. No radio test. Spoke too fast and impossible to understand. Raced from one spot until we were blocked by other groups. Did not speak while we walked. Spoke more to other tour guides than too our group. We got to one spot and he told us this was the longest road in Pompeii. Thats it. We raced down a hill and he told us to turn in our radios and someone would would speak to us in English. There was only a man who collected the radios. Our 2 hour tour lasted 85 minutes. The group found ourselves outside the gates. No artifacts. No free time to walk on our own. We had unknowingly exited the site. 4 of my family had never had a guided tour before. They where shocked that i paid for this total lack of service. Viator should be ashamed to have this company listed. Viator ripped me off.
Great Tour
Jodie L, Oct 2019
This guided tour made seeing, learning about and navigating the streets of Pompeii so much easier than had we tried to do it on our own. The guide provided headsets that allowed us to clearly hear her as she spoke. The tour was worth every penny!
Great day in Pompeii!
Rachael_W, Oct 2019
We spent a fabulous morning exploring the ruins of Pompeii. Our guide Elisa was full of historical facts & fun anecdotes, lending an upbeat and lively energy to our group. The site is so large you'd easily get lost & have little context to what you're viewing without a guide - can't go wrong with this tour!
cancelled
Linda_P, Sep 2019
I had to cancel the day before the tour - do to back problems - lost my refund but my son went and husband went they said it was great
Great day
Elizabeth_C, Sep 2019
Went i september and it was hot. Make sure you wear good wzlking shoes as the roads are uneven and up and down. Wear a hat if it is hot there is no shade anywhere their. I was there for 5 hours and it was incredable.
Amazing site to see
Joyce_V, Sep 2019
Three years ago I went without a guide.....missed so many things getting lost. This is 170 acres of stone streets that look alike. Book through Viator, no waiting, breaks are built into tour, there is no waiting in huge lines, as an American, ALL my tours were booked at home before I left....
