Single traveller. I love history! Having the guide was a great way to spend time in the huge area that is the Pompeii ruins. The guide was very fast on his feet and quick ran through some of the highlights of the area. It was appreciated, as it was a very hot and humid day but I did find that the group was required to run beside him. I didn't mind but there was a family that couldn't keep up due to their smaller children. The tour was easy to find (the office located at the top of the train station) and the guide was thoughtful to keep in the shade.

Worth for a tour with a guide as it's hard to image how it was back in that time if you walk yourself. Our english guide speak good english and easy to make us understand. I still recommend you go for a walk after the tour.

A complete desapointment

The tour was supposed to be 2h and it was less then 1h30! The guide only said what was each place which you could easily replace with an audio guide, I have the impression that we only saw about 1/4-1/3 of Pompei and it was definitely not worth the money.

first time using VIATOR and experience was not good The tour was late because we had to wait for everyone to get tickets - better communication should have gone out to people for getting tickets AHEAD of time OR start the tour at 30 mins before to get tickets Was difficult to hear and understand tour guide due to accent

We took this tour with Estela a few days ago and it was great! The tour started 20 min late (though we don’t know if the company actually gives Viator the correct start time because we were the only ones there on time). Once we started we were on our way! Estela did a great job guiding us to the highlights of Pompeii and giving recommendations for places to check out afterwards. There isn’t much shade but she brought us to as many shady spots as possible. She was full of interesting facts. This is a great value for the price and is significantly cheaper than other advertised tours. Highly recommended!

Although the Tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable, his style of speech was slow and theatrical. We would have preferred to hear and learn more about the sites. There was much wasted time that could have been filled with more information.

Our tour guide was Michele, who has an excellent command of English (and French) and was great at answering questions from the group. Michele clearly has a deep knowledge of and interest in Pompei, as well as a sense of humour. Downsides were having a big group so to hear Michele you had to be near the front. Also buying the tickets was a little disorganised at the start.

Our guide was AWESOME. Our group was big, but she managed to give us free time to look around and take pictures. She was knowledgeable and kept everyone engaged. The tour did NOT last 2 hours, but we had free time to continue to wonder around.

Having heard that there were very few information signs, we were told it was best to take a tour. To be honest, I would have rather had an audioguide or just done some research ahead of time to see what we most wanted to see. Luckily, when the tour was over we were able to explore some more. The tour was fine but there were quite a few people (~30?) and it was slow moving. However, the tour guide was knowledgeable and the tour is cheap so we didn't feel like we had wasted money.

We really enjoyed this tour! Our guide was very knowledgeable and relatively easy to understand, and he adjusted the tour in the inappropriate spots to not offend children on the tour. The company was very accommodating, after I'd inadvertently booked the tour for the wrong day. They made it very easy to change. Highly recommend!

Didn't get there on time because the street directions are close to impossible to follow. The signage is almost non-existent and we ended up following parking signs that had us a 20 minute walk away. We finally were directed to the main entrance but I don't know where I would have actually parked.
