Private Trip to Amalfi coast and Pompei

Our tour driver was fantastic ( Carmine- spelling? Sorry I didn’t get his name correct). The roads were dangerous and windy but he was an expert so we were in good hands. He was patient and accommodating and also pointed out items of interest along the way.
We needed to change the plans at the last minute to upgrade to a tour guide of Pompei and the Leisure Italy Vincenzo accommodated our request. This was well worth it as we got the most out of the tour in terms of what we were looking for. The guide that gave us a tour of Pompei was an expert as most guides are. Her enjoyment and passion for Pompei and history came through. She was engaging with the kids and customized the tour to our preferences.
A thoroughly wonderful day.

Private tour from our cruise ship in Naples to Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast

This was the most expensive tour we took for the week (5 private tours from the NCL Epic). It was the least favorite tour we had. Europe was extremely hot in July and every other tour guide we had provided us with cool water to drink during the tour, but when we asked for water, he stopped to let us buy our own (This tour was over $1300- would water have ruined their profit?). But the tour guide did have a portable router to allow us to access email, however it was not working in the afternoon, and despite me telling him that, he didn't try to fix it. He also had a microphone (no other guide had that) but in the third row in the van, they couldn't hear him, and he told them to turn off the AC, but in heat, who wants to do that? We went to Pompeii first, and he was a very thorough guide, and really knew his history, and gave us a very in depth look into the ruins. He spotted another tourist going into a roped off area while giving us our tour, and asked us to wait a minute while he went over and yelled at the other guy to get out of the space he was looking in. It was a bit strange for us. However, since it was so hot, after an hour and a half walking in the sun I told him that we were just too hot, and can we please go onto our next destination. Because he really was so into the Pompeii history, he had a little bit of a chip on his shoulder for the rest of the day. I had asked about going to the Cameo factory, and he told me that I should have told him sooner, and that we can not go. I thought this was a private tour? Anyway, we continued onto Sorrento. When we got there, it was lunchtime, and he said he would make a reservation for us at a wonderful restaurant. And that we had 2 hours to eat and look around the town on our own. Well the restaurant served slowly, and that took 1.5 hours of our time in Sorrento, so we didn't really have time to see much of it. The restaurant was very expensive- 5 pizza's were $113 Euro! (it was half that every other restaurant we ate in on our other tours) So, he probably got some sort of kickback, since we had to tell the hostess he sent us. He did stop for pictures on the way to Positano, in a lovely spot. Then we got to Positano and we had another hour to look around on our own. The scenery was beautiful, but we could have just hired a taxi and took a tour of Pompeii for much less. Not worth the money.

But we are afraid there must be some misunderstanding because we do not offer any tour as expensive as you state! The real tour price is not even half what you write. This was an amazing tour. Our driver was very accommodating and knowledgeable. He suggested great stops to capture perfect pictures, provided great information and was really great with my four kids. I highly recommend and will be using again on my next visit.

Fabio our driver/guide was prompt and there to meet our train as requested . Pleasant and knowledgeable about area but the traffic was so heavy that our time to walk around Amalfi and Positano was cut to less than an hour at each place . Way to much time in the car. Daniela our Pompeii guide was excellent . It might be good to advise future clients that weekends are not the best to drive this route because of heavy traffic delays

Fabrizzio was well educated in ancient history and made a perfect guide in Pompeii. He recommended touring the Amalfi coast first to avoid the larger morning crowds in Pompeii. Perfect decision, since it was cool in April and we had plenty of time for the afternoon tour in Pompeii. To engage a personal driver/guide is a wonderful way to tour these areas, since you can tailor your day to meet your personal preferences. Fabrizzio was excellent, with near perfect English. A much better way to visit these areas than in large tour groups!

A great day out with Guiseppe. Spectacular views of the Amalfi Coast. Felt a little rushed but we got to see what we wanted to. Guiseppe wax an excellent guide at Pompeii and we were glad we paid the extra for the private guided tour of Pompeii. Well worth it.

Ok tour- we wanted to go to the beach and were told it would be a hassel. Otherwise it was a good trip. Nico is nice. If you want to have a beach day, don't book this trip!!

Guiseppe was a wealth of knowledge, Pompeii was so interesting and the Amalfi Coast incredibly beautiful. We stopped at Ravello and Amalfi as our guide thought Poisitano might be too busy. Ravello was so charming and the views breathtaking. Great tour.

We myself, husband, son, daughter-in-law had a limited time in Sorrento and wanted to visit the Amalfi Coast as well as Pompeii, so this 9 hour tour was perfect. Fabrizio, our driver and guide was amazing, both personable and knowledgeable. He suggested going first to the Amalfi Coast and then to Pompeii in the afternoon when the crowds would be smaller and there would be a breeze. On the drive up the coast he stopped several times so that we could take pictures. Throughout our entire day he provided us with interesting information about the area. We visited Positano, Amalfi, and Ravello, where we had lunch. Fabrizio made a reservation for us at a restaurant overlooking the water and checked in on us several times to make sure everything was fine. His knowledge of Pompeii made it such an interesting experience we saw people walking around without guides, and I am certain that they did not have nearly the same experience or learn a fraction of what we did by having Fabrizio as our guide. Our only regret was that we did not have more than 2 days in Sorrento. We decided that we would like to come back for a week and that we would contact Fabrizio to arrange all of our excursions!
