The Best Part of My Whole Trip to Italy

When I was a little girl I wanted to come to Pompeii and it has finally happened. Sasa was the most amazing guide. There was a moment where he held us up near the entrance to give us background and I wanted to run away and start exploring immediately but this would have been a mistake. I'm glad I stayed and listened because he made it real for us, I had far more insight into what I was seeing because of his information. Also, the late in the day tour was phenomenal. Not only was the light beautiful for photographs but the crowds had thinned out and there were moments that felt like we were the only ones there. Just one of my favorite travel experiences ever. And I'm a tour director and travel all over the world. Sasa, you were terrific and an enormous inspiration to me. I only hope I am as good a tour guide as you!

Pompeii from the afternoon to the sunset was an excellent tour that really brought the ruins to life. With our wonderfully enthusiastic guide Franky, we learned lots about the lives of the people who once called this thriving town home. Ideal for people who prefer quieter tours as by this time there are far fewer visitors around.

This was one of the best tours in our 17 day stay in Italy. We were awestruck by the Pompeiian civilization and amazed by how much remained intact after the volcanic eruption. There was so much to see and learn. I think the late afternoon time slot was less crowded, we never felt pressed or stressed!

Good but lacked important details

Most of the tour was ok, but he neglected something very important. The frozen bodies have mainly been removed from the site and placed in the antiquarium. We only found this at the end of the tour 5 mins to closing time for the buildings after we had to ask about them. For such an important part it should of been mentioned at the start of the tour

In any tour we try to give to the visitors a complete idea of the Roman town of Pompeii that is 66 hectares and is the only one almost intact in the world. we are sorry if you came to see just the plaster cast that you identify as a “frozen bodies” and for sure our expert local guide showed you other plaster cast located in some other place around the ruins planned on our tour

The crowds were thinner in the afternoon. The afternoon timing on this is perfect. Great guide with expert knowledge and good English skills. Well paced. Be aware that many times of the year the site will close before actual sunset

Our tour guide Francesco was the most knowledgeable tour guide during our entire trip of Italy. We were running about 10 minutes late and he was courteous enough to call us and see where we were at instead of just starting the tour without us, we really appreciated that. He was very nice, a very positive attitude, and extremely funny. Gives very excellent and informative tour of Pompeii as well he can answer any of your questions about Italian and Roman history down to specific people and their names. The man is a book of knowledge and highly recommend him and his tour.

Pompei is beautiful and definitely worth the trip I’d you’re staying in Naples. Our guide, Melania, was amazing and very knowledgeable. We were part of a wonderful, small group. Recommend bringing snacks as the surrounding restaurants close up when the archeological site closes :)
