What To Expect

Start relaxing immediately with a glass of Prosecco after you board, as the captain takes care of everything. During the cruise, your private 33-foot (10-meter) boat goes no faster than 25 knots, so you can sit back and enjoy the views of picturesque coastal towns along the way.

All cruises offer a pause for swimming or snorkeling before heading back to enjoy the stunning views on the charming village Positano while the sky changes in beautiful pastel colors.

As your boat cruises along, sip Prosecco and other beverages and nibble on light snacks, including some local specialties such as tarallucci (a breadstick or cookie in a twisted or circular shape). Towels and snorkeling gear are provided during the cruise as well.

After the sun dips below the mountains, your captain guides the boat back to your departure port of Positano.

Our sunset cruise with Bluestar Positano was one of the highlights of our entire Italy trip! We were nervous that we wouldn't get to go, as it had just started lightly raining before our tour. We arrived a little bit early to the tent, and Elisabeth and the staff were super friendly and arranged for us to go out a little early to try to avoid the storm. Our captain Salvo gave us a great tour of the coast despite the weather and made us feel safe the entire time. We also enjoyed hearing him talk about the different landmarks and towns. When it was time to head back, the storm picked up, but he got us back safely and securely, and we were met at the dock by Blue Star's staff with an umbrella to escort us to a nearby restaurant to stay dry. I cannot thank Blue Star enough for going above and beyond to make us feel safe and comfortable. We had a blast and loved getting to see beautiful Positano from the sea. It was a wonderful way to spend our anniversary evening, and we cannot wait to come back and do it again. Highly recommend this great family-run business with beautiful boats and an amazing team.

Dangerous Experience

My daughter and I booked this 1.5 hour sunset cruise as one of the culmination experiences to our eight day Positano visit. But the cruise quickly became a scary venture, as our captain, Esteban, was struggling to stay awake. He nodded off at the wheel several times, causing us much anxiety as his only passengers. We wondered if he was sleep deprived, had imbibed too much before our voyage or had ingested some other substance. We were the only passengers on board, and we wanted a private cruise due to Covid thinking it would be safer for us, but we quickly realized we were in a dangerous situation and wondered how we would reach shore safely if he completely passed out and we could not rouse him. Frightening! We yelled out questions to him about buildings on the coast to try and keep him awake. At one point he nodded forward juggling his cell phone in his left hand almost dropping it. We had hoped this would be a glorious celebration cruise to end our trip but rather it was filled with worry and fear. We could hardly wait to disembark.
