Authentic cooking experience in heart of Praiano
    linda_d, Mar 2023
Highly recommended for a private, authentic and lovely cooking experience with a local family- husband and wife duo in a warm, beautiful setting.
Mislead and ignored by Viator. Didn’t attend event
    Tracy_M, Nov 2022
This review is simply about Viator and not the pasta class itself. I can’t even comment about the pasta class since i didn’t even attend it. My husband and I are on our honeymoon and only had 2 days in positano. When I first booked the class, it said in the even title that the class is in positano and the “meeting point” is a 4 mins walk from my hotel. We were super excited and thought it was super convenient that the meeting location was so closed to us. After it was booked, there was a questionaire to fill out and then I was told that an email about which host we will be learning from and their address will be sent. I waited for the email and nothing came through. And since there was an assigned meeting place on the app, I simply thought that’s where we re meeting. Otherwise why would you put that as the meeting point? The day of the class, it was schedule for 10am. I messaged Viator in the morning to confirm that I am going to meet the host at the meeting point. I made my way to the meeting point and there were no one there to meet us. I received a message 15 mins before the start of the class that we were supposed to meet at the host’s house which is a 30 mins drive from my hotel. I called the host to double-check that this is correct. The host told me that Viator is the one who assigned them clients and that they are actually in praiano not positano. First of all, that’s already misleading when your event title obviously said in positano, not some other town. The host told me that it would simply be too late even if I get a taxi and head over now. Going back to the agent who I was talking to about the address and where to meet. She claimed that an email with the host address was sent to me at 6pm the night before. Obviously no email have came through or else why would I bother messaging them in the morning and calling the host last minute. I also doublecheck with the agent about my email address and they claimed they sent it to the correct one. THERE WAS NOTHING! I told the agent that I received and she simply put me on read and left it at that. So yes, the title of this even is misleading. Their “meeting point” is not real. Their hosts are not in positano. And the agents of Viator will ignore you. They wasted my day in positano and basically messed up my honeymoon.
    Must do experience

We spent our time at Casa Angela it was so memorable I can’t even begin o describe it. The home was at the top of Positano with amazing views. The family has been there for ages and started with the great grandmother who raised cows on the property which over the years has grown to include the whole family. Emily the granddaughter was the one who ran the show with her parents. The family was lovely. We learned how to make gnocchi by had and tiramisu it was amazing and we will be making it at home. Well trying to at least. We brought our 18 year old son and he had the best time. The family that was also with us was delightful. Would say this is a must do, and a great way to see another side of this amazing place!
    Amazing experience

    Amazing day of cooking!

This was the MOST fun we had! This beautiful family opened their home to us and taught us to make homemade gnocchi, tomato sauce, and tiramisu. The food was perfecto! There was plenty of wine, new-found friends, and gorgeous views!
An Original Experience that cannot be repeated!
    Mike_S, Jun 2022
Emily and her Mama welcomed us into their home. They graciously treated us like family and shared the family recipes and techniques for making a memorable meal. We will be able to take this experience back home with us and use it to make authentic Italian dishes. All the ingredients were fresh and many picked straight from the family garden! I do not think I will ever be able to have gnocchi from a restaurant again now that I know the REAL way to make it. We will never be able to thank Emily and Mama enough for their hospitality and generosity. We have the know how to now make an authentic meal. Thank You!
    MUST BOOK!

This experience was absolutely amazing. Emily and her family are so kind and welcoming and the food was INCREDIBLE. I’d recommend this to anyone visiting the Amalfi Coast. I’ll be coming back.

Words cannot express how special our evening was cooking with Emily and her family! We feel like members of her family and the food was the best we have had in all of Italy! Almost everything is from their garden. Don't miss this opportunity to experience Italy!
    Cooking Class of a Lifetime!
    Malina_A, Apr 2022
Just wow. This experience was truly wonderful. My mom and I traveled up to the small village of Montepertuso where we were greeted by the sweetest Italian family. We learned to cook delicious pasta and tiramisu with ingredients fresh from their garden. We sat and enjoyed our meals with the most picturesque views of Positano. We are so grateful for this family who welcomed us into their beautiful home and emersed us in authentic Italian culture. This by far was our favorite thing we've done during our stay in Italy. An experience we will cherish forever! Definitely recommend it to anyone planning a trip to Positano!
Wonderful time spent with a local family in a small community
    Joshua_H, Apr 2022
The best part of this was being able to spend time with Emily and her family, and to see first hand how they live their lives, utilizing their property to produce all that they need, in a smaller community, next to the more frantic pace found in the midst of the throngs of tourists in Positano. This was absolutely the best experience of our entire 17 day trip. We find that we always enjoy smaller places when we travel, and we try to go where the local residents spend their time, so this was the type of experience which we try to find, but do not always manage to achieve. As one might expect, the food and cooking experience was phenomenal, winding up with a meal of several healthy courses, topped off by our self made tiramusu. Emily and her family are the best!
    You will NOT be disappointed!

By far one of the best travel experiences I've had. I honestly thought it was going to be one of those cookie cutter classes with a large group and not as personalized. Boy was I wrong. The host's brother met us at the bus stop with a sign with my name on it. We got to walk though the small mountain town to the house where we met the mother and got a tour of their house and amazing garden where they grew almost every kind of produce you could think of. We got to pick out our own produce that we would prepare for lunch. The brother guided us to make the tiramisu until the actual host arrived. He kept apologizing for his "poor English" and accent but we could understand him just fine. After the tiramisu we made the gnocchi while getting pointers from mom on technique etc. We made 2 kinds of gnocci both were absolutely fresh and super delicious! After 3 hours of connecting with the whole family, we had to leave to catch the bus home. If you are staying in Positano you have to give this a try. It really makes you appreciate farm to table cooking with locals.
Best Food we ate at the Amalfi coast
    Javier_O, Aug 2021
This cooking class was exceptional! The booking was simple and easy. Once booked, they communicated with us to arrange transportation and explained what was going to happen. Our host Angela and her family were absolutely delightful. Their villa is lovely and in a very secluded area and the view, WOW!!! The cooking class was great. They use everything from their own garden so everything is fresh and clean. It was so much fun learning how to cook authentic Italian food! And the end result? AMAZING!!! They prepared our diner at their rooftop terrace with the view of the Amalfi coast with wine and some appetizers that were from their own garden. The food was THE BEST FOOD WE ATE IN OUR WHOLE TRIP!!! (including restaurants!!). I HIGHLY recommend this experience if you come to the Amalfi coast. My family is traveling there soon and they are absolutely booking. Do yourself a favor and if you go to the Amalfi coast, book them for an awesome, PRIVATE experience.
