Tour guide in Pompeii was terrible.. left us after an hour and told us to wander the park I followed other tour guides instead .. they were much more informative Not worth the money

The driver picked us up from the hotel and drove straight to Pompeii, where a guide was already waiting for us. The personal tour was fascinating and informative. We could tell the guide, Francesco, was genuinely passionate about the subject. After Pompeii, the driver took us to Vesuvius. The climb was challenging, but certainly worthwhile. After that, the driver took us back to the hotel. Long day, but a wonderful experience all around.

Our tour of Pompeii yesterday was incredible! We were picked up by Fabio, who was the kindest driver and wonderful person. He drove us safely to Pompeii and was a delight to chat with and even stopped on the way back for us to get gelato! There we met with Carmine, our tour guide who was fantastic. He knew anything and everything there is to know about the history of Pompeii. He was so passionate in the way he spoke about the landscape. He was such a kind hearted person and taught us so much. He answered every question we had. We are so happy we could get to know him and learn from him! I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a great time. We loved every minute!!!

This was a fantastic tour!! It’s difficult to get around in Positano so I loved that this tour handled all transportation needs. Our tour guide Roberta was knowledgeable and I loved her high energy. Pompeii is HUGE so she makes sure you see all the most important sites and is full of fascinating facts and stories for everything you look at. My husbands favorite part was Mount Vesuvius. You’re able to go right up to the crater! Be sure to bring a jacket, it’s chilly at that elevation. This tour was a nice change of pace from the Amalfi coast for something really unique. I’d highly recommend!!

Our guide was great! Carmela was knowledgeable but not annoying. Planned our time perfect. She is the best! The restaurant- complete disappointment. Not organized, food is below mediocre. You have to beg people to bring you cheese to your pasta. I’d rather had sandwich from the vendor on the street.

Hugo, our Pompei you guide, was extremely informative, patient with my photos, tailored the tour for us, and exceptionally personable with quick jokes. Roberta was a fantastic tour guide - very knowledgeable. Roberta was happy to help with any questions. With Vesuvius, it's 100% worth taking this tour as tour groups are dropped off much closer to the top and tickets are sorted for you.

A brilliant day. A driver collected me from Positano and dropped me to Sorrento to meet the group/tour guide. Roberta, our tour guide throughout, was excellent. She made you feel very welcome and gave lots of interesting information. Pompeii was fantastic. Vito, our tour guide, was excellent. Be prepared to be walking for around 3 hours though (bring sun cream and water!). We had free time to eat in a variety of places before going to Mount Vesuvius. Hiking up Mount Vesuvius was a special experience. Thanks all for a great day!

This was one of my favorite experiences in Italy! The Pompeii archeological site was really cool and well preserved. The climb to Mount Vesivius is pretty intense but definitely worth it to see the scenery on top. Definitely recommend!

Our tour guide (Gennaro) and driver (Carmine) were fantastic and really made every effort to make our tour enjoyable and memorable. They paid particular attention to the well being of our 2 young sons and were very inclusive of them .

This small group tour was everything we hoped it would be. Our tour guide Daniela was very nice and knowledgable. In the limited time we had in Pompeii, she took us to the most interesting sights and explained everything to us in great detail and so it was quite the educational experience. At Vesuvius, she explained the natural surroundings and we had time to wander around the crater and take in this impressive sight. Our driver Carlo got us around safely and punctually and we felt were in good hands. All and all, a very great day trip to one of the most fascinating archeological sights in Italy and a great chance to get up and close with a volcano. I would recommend this trip to anyone who's considering this. Thank you Daniela and Carlo for a wonderful day!
Trip to Pompeii and Vesuvius

We really enjoyed this trip; the only downside was that our guide stopped guiding us when we reached Vesuvius and did the climb. (She stayed in the bus.) The tour would have been better if she had continued with us up the volcano and provided more geography/history commentary along the way.

Great day tour from Positano. Easy to get to meeting point in town, walkable from most areas. Save a lot of money over private transfers. Great tour guide for Pompeii. Our group was small in early June, 6 total in a big van. My Vesuvius was a fun hike up a well trodden wide path with good views. Right price point, drove straight to sites. Guide knew her stuff!
Too many people / inaccurate description

Pompeii and Mt. V themselves are fabulous, but we booked a ‘small group’ tour. Well, there were around 25-30 people, it was very hard to hear out of the headsets and the pizza included WAS NOT part of the package. We all sat at a subpar restaurant and paid 14 EUR for either pizza or pasta. Our tour guide was super friendly, cute and knowledgeable. We both feel like we missed some key areas of Pompeii. I saw other tour guides talk about things that we did not hear. However, I was very grateful to have seen Pompeii and Mt. V.

You can see from our website and brochures that the descirptions of the tours are accurate, the maximum number of passengers is 21, the buses longer than 8 mt cannot get into Positano, it's forbidden so we could not operate this tour with a bus of 25-30 people. The lunch /pizza is not included and thi is stated in all our webistes. Sometimes, due to the brokerage with some online sellers, there is a lack on information. Can you please contact us at activities@traveletc.it ? so we can figure out where did you book the tour and fix any issue. Pompeii is a huge archaeological site, and we should highlights all the "not to be missed" areas in 2 hours of walking tour, to explore the whole extent it can take more than 6 hours. We thoroughly enjoyed our Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius tour. It was really interesting to be immersed in the history of Pompeii and imagine ourselves back in the time. Our tour guide Roberta was excellent and gave us a nice taste of the flavor of Pompeii. The trek to Mount Vesuvius was a long one, more walking and steeper than I imagined it would be. Good shoes are a must as the trail is often uneven and rocky. It is easy enough to do for anyone in reasonably good shape and the view on the way up and once you get to the top is nothing short of spectacular, well worth the trek. Lunch between Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius was a bit of a cattle call and the food was just so so, but it was inexpensive (just 14 euro) and we were hungry, so it was all good. The bus was prompt and comfortable and the drive from Positano was beautiful too.

I really enjoyed this tour. Amanuela (sp?) was our guide and she was great. Very informative and had a very sweet and funny personality. When I asked her about her experience, she said she's been doing these tours for 9 years, so I knew we were in good hands. She told us exactly what was going to happen during the tour and even though we were seeing the "highlights" of Pompeii - we gained a lot of knowledge from it. We had beautiful weather for Pompeii but it was more cloudy and cooler on Mt. Vesuvius. The climb to the top is definitely worth it (but also a bit of a challenge)! Overall - if you have a free day on the Amalfi Coast - I recommend this tour 100%.

This tour was well planned and very interesting. They arrived on time. Carmela was good tour guide with lots of information. Time was spent wisely seeing all the highlight. The walk up Vesuvius was a little challenging but definitely a must! They really could do without the pizza stop not worth it.
