A map and meeting point pickup details will be sent to your Viator/TripAdvisor message board. Please disembark as quickly as possible and be at the pickup location not more than 45 minutes after your ship docks.

  • If you are in moderate physical shape choose the Midway 12 Falls since that is what most people can manage.
  • Minimum age 8. Children 8-17 must be accompanied by an adult

  • At time of booking, Cruise ship passengers must provide the following information: ship name, docking time, disembarkation time and re-boarding time
  • It is recommended that you wear an old pair of running shoes, swimwear and a towel. We recommend women wear shorts over their bathing suits.

  • A moderate amount of hiking is involved for the Midway 12 Falls
  • Infants must sit on laps
  • A significant amount of hiking is involved for the Full 27 Waterfalls
  • Due to uneven surfaces, this tour is not recommended for those with walking disabilities and not possible for wheelchair users

My family visited the falls the last week of June and we had a wonderful time. Our tour guide Carlos and Max were amazing and made the trip even more enjoyable. We had other guides from the falls lead us and he was also great and full of energy. Carlos stayed with us the entire time as well. The hike up to the falls is very strenuous but they stop often to allow you to rest and drink water. Once we got to the falls we jumped off, slid down a natural water slide and hiked through different parts of the river. The lunch buffet was delicious and we were able to sample some Dominican dishes. On the way back we enjoyed rum and coke. I highly recommend this tour!

Had an absolutely AMAZING experience! The tour guides were great and photographer Robin did a great job with taking pictures! 10/10 will do again! Pickup and drop-off were also pretty seamless:-)

Amazing Experience

This excursion was exciting one and challenging in some parts. All of us had fantastic time during this activity. We started with hike and then went to the seven falls. It only takes only 5 Dominican minutes :)

This is the second time we have done this waterfall excursion and it did not disappoint again. It was an absolute blast and everyone loved it. Carlos (tour guide) was fantastic and Fernando (driver/cook) did a great job as well. It is such a unique experience I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for something to do in Amber Cove. The pickup was easy, the drive was nice, the instructions and information were excellent, the hike was easily manageable (fresh mangos along the way helped) and the waterfalls are so much fun. It was VERY crowded and it was a little rushed getting through the water but still a wonderful experience.

Excellent tour due to Carlos

Our tour guide Carlos was amazing, he gave us history on his country while we were driving to the waterfalls and was very informative. He was extremely attentive to my wife and I as well as our little group while at the park and during the excursion. He led us to the front of the line for every waterfall jump/slide and he was an active participant in the activity as well. He had a genuine concern that we had an enjoyable experience and we really appreciated him for that! I have to say Carlos was by far one of the best tour guides we have experienced. Thank You Carlos!! Our tour date was July 16th 2023.

Great experience! Our tour guide gave us some historical info on our way to the falls. The van was clean and the driver practiced safe driving. There are your guides at the falls that basically take over the tour while you are there and they were fantastic! The hike is difficult but so worth it!

Fantastic day for the whole family

Alexander the Great was a blast and soooooo wonderful to our family. To be honest, each tour guide that helped us was just as fantastic as Alexander but he gets his own special shout out 😉. The tour was thru iguana mama and I highly Recommend this trip if you’re visiting. We were on a cruise and we’re back on the ship hours before departure time so there are no worries about missing the cruise. We had 3 teens and an 11 year old. The hike up the small mountain was steep at parts but absolutely doable and they took plenty of rests. You can jump, slide, or climb down a ladder. Yes, it was packed, but it didn’t take away from any of the enjoyment. We got a private photographer (Felix) for $45 that was totally worth it :) he was funny and engaged and helped us get around on the rocks.

Alexander the Great was our tour leader and he made our day amazing from beginning to end! Our van was air conditioned and he entertained us with lots of great info about the island. The waterfalls were so much fun and the photo package was well worth the $45. Our family of ten all enjoyed the Dominican lunch! This is the tour to book!

Great experience

Guides were great. The water fall experience was great. It is a bit of a hike to the water falls, but that was fine by us. Afterwards, we ate a buffet. On the drive back to port, our guide gave us rum. The only negative would be that our guide separated us from the rest of our group and put us with a different guide because we weren't doing the zip line, then met up with us afterwards. And both guides were great, but we ended up tipping twice as much as we were expecting. But overall a great experience.

Fun at the Falls

Edwin was a great guide. He communicated well and his love for the DR is contagious. Our only complaints are it was really crowded and we could only do 7 waterfalls. But this what not Edwin’s fault. It was just really crowded.

Hola Jeff, Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do about crowds at the park. Damajagua is the most popular tour and shore excursion on the island. When there are 4 ships between the 2 ports on the north coast, the crowds can be very large indeed. We do not operate the park. It is a national park and everyone is welcome. Also, you could only do 7 Falls because there has been a year long drought and only 7 Falls are currently open. We all pray every day for rain to reopen the upper falls. Hopefully, if you join us another time, more falls will be open and the crowds will be smaller. Kind regards, Lidia / Iguana Mama

The iguana Mama tour guy was excellent. The water falls are actually at a national park. He worked well with the staff there and made sure we were taken care of the entire time. The tour at the park is very well organized. There were a lot of people there when we were there. We had a great time. The only bummer was that the water level was low, so we were only able to do 2 water fall jumps and 3 slides. I would definitely go again.

Awesome experience at the falls with beautiful scenery. The food was amazing. Only part that could be improved is once the group was dropped off with the waterfall company it was very crowded and unclear what group we should stay with. It worked out because we were a huge herd of people all going the same place, but at the end we weren’t organized by our guide or given directions on what to do next so some people wandered off, some changed, some ate food. The guide should’ve given better directions and kept everyone together. We had to remind him we were missing people.

A Perfect Once In A Lifetime Experience In Every Aspect of the Excursion, Don't Miss It!!!

We had a blast hiking up to and jumping from the waterfalls. None of our group of 8 were in the best shape and we all made the uphill hike with no problem, and that was after 6 days of cruising, walking endlessly on the ship and doing other shore excursions that wore us out. By the time we got to Amber Cove, to do our waterfall excursion, we were all worn out from our exhaustive itinerary over the previous week and all wondering if we'd be able to make the climb. Well we did it with no problem whatsoever and it was absolutely awesome. This is not something you can do in many places in the world. If you have a chance to get to Amber Cove in the Dominican Republic I urge you to book this excursion. You won't regret it! Our guide was Carlos and our photographer that we hired was "Tony Montana" the entire team of guides and photographers were absolutely outstanding and made the trip even more memorable with their humor and conversations and their focus on safety. The food afterwards was great and the rum filled ride back to our cruise ship was the perfect ending to a perfect experience. This is a once in a lifetime experience and Iguana Mama Tours made it totally unforgettable. There was a crying baby all the way down the waterfalls, and jumps and slides come to find out it was Richard, another guide who does the most outstanding baby impersonations. You can't help but enjoy yourself when you see how much every employee along the way enjoys what they are doing. Don't miss the chance to experience this once in a lifetime excursion.

We traveled via NCL cruise & the excursion was full. So I booked it myself direct. Ended up costing the same. But our small group of a dozen sure got the VIP service! Indiana Jones & Alexander the Great were Amazing hosts & made sure we stayed together as a group - let us cool down w some rum & cokes, and gave us a little history of the area, music, food, etc. Be prepared to walk ALOT, they do a good job of giving you all the info upfront in detail to make sure your adventure goes as planned. Highly recommend.
