Must do tour if you visit PR
Luis_V, Sep 2023
It was amazing experience to see the bioluminescence. Staff were very friendly and informative. Kayaking through the channel to the lagoon in the dark was a little challenging, but it was fun. I think the cost of the tour is very reasonable. Highly recommend it!
Great time!

10/10 RECOMMEND EVERY TIME!!!!

My boyfriend and I came to PR for 8 days! It's our first trip together and we had plans on enjoying the beach and when we discovered the bio bays we knew we had to take part. I was hesitant at first because a lot of people claimed it wasn't good and you needed to go to the sister island. We stuck with Yokahu Kayaking Trips for our excursion and we had THE BEST time. I have kayaking experience and so does my boyfriend and even though I was 100% comfortable on the kayak, the mangroves at night unnerved me. The guides were amazing and made sure to keep everyone together and safe! As far as the bioluminescence. I cried it was so beautiful. You don't think something so tiny would be so grand in the scheme of life but it absolutely was! I cannot recommend doing this excursion or using this company enough!
Awesome!

We had a great time. I expected the water to be blue but it was more white. It was still super cool and unique to experience. We had great tour guides. The only thing I can say is try to find a good tandem partner because if you don’t it will be more work than it’s worth. It’s dark and you have to row. Overall I’d do this tour again.
Bio Bay in the Moonlight
Jessica_F, Sep 2023
Kayaking through lagoon in the moonlit sky is some thing that my whole family enjoyed and will remember. We appreciated the fact that we were still able to enjoy the bioluminescence in the area because of the preparation of the tour staff.

We got to see allot of the bio. It's was beautiful. The only part I didn't like was that we were left alone on the way there. It was scary

Seeing the bioluminescence is an experience we will never forget. We were a family with two small children and a grandmother. Paddling was challenging but not impossible. Definitely a workout. Wear comfortable clothing.
Great tour!

Kayaking through a mangrove forest at night was a real experience! Of course, the bioluminescence was the best part.
Fun Bio Bay Adventure

If you want to experience something fun I definitely recommend this experience! The tour guides are professionals, polite, cautious, and funny! You kayak through the water so be prepared to move that paddle with your arms!!! Very thankful for the tour guides :)
Super fun!!

Awesome kayak tour. I was nervous but the guides helped us to feel at ease. You WILL get wet so definitely wear a bathing suit!
Awesome experience
Andrea_M, Aug 2023
We really enjoyed the bioluminescent kayaking tour. Even with a nearly full moon you can still see the water glowing as you move your hand back and forth. And the guides do a good job with using tarps to make it easier to see the water sparkle and glow. Our guide, Jesus, was helpful and knowledgeable. Even if you can't see a lot of bioluminescence, kayaking in the pitch black mangrove channel is pretty cool. Just remember, follow Jesus. We are experienced kayakers, and coming back in through the channel against the current requires some work, so if you're a novice it could be a little challenging.
Amazing experience

I am so glad I booked this kayaking tour!! It was so beautiful seeing the clear open sky through the canal and seeing the bioluminescent once we reached the bay! It did get a little dark, but you are following each other, so just follow the glow stick in the back of each kayak. The guides were super fun and nice! Thank you to Jesus for leading the way and all the other guides. We got a small snack and water after the end. The total trip was about two hours and may get tiring for someone who does not kayak often. You will get wet from your bottom, so bring extra clothes. Overall highly recommend.

Thank you for joining our Yokahu team. We were blessed and happy to have you as our guest. See you on your next visit. Cheers!
Definitely don't miss this excursion! This is the best company to do it with too!
Mallory_H, Jul 2023
We had a wonderful time with the guys from Yokahu! My group of 8 friends (4 couples) really enjoyed seeing the bioluminescent plankton in the water in the mangrove channel. We struggled with the tarp portion a bit because our kayak was in-between two pieces of tarp, so I'd recommend getting on the outside of the semicircle when you link up in the open bay. Kayaking in the dark with a partner is an exercise in communication and trust and we felt it strengthened our relationship :) The guides were super helpful and knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna and pointed things out to us like the fish that were jumping and the herring in the trees. Make sure you wear bug repellant! Yokahu is the best company to go with too because they don't meet up in the same place at the 10 other companies that offer similar tours so you don't have as much noise or light pollution. Definitely don't miss this really cool opportunity. It was all of our favorite part of our vacation!
