We depart from Kayak Village, Fajardo PR. You must arrive 30 mins earlier than the starting time to find parking & to sign a waiver. The location is very crowded. You must look for the Pure Adventure sign, and look for the company name & logo. Come prepared to get wet!

To set up transportation please text us. Transportation is an additional cost, not paid for at the time of booking. Transportation cost is per person. If the hotel is not shown or if you are not staying at a hotel, no worries please send us your location and we will find the closest pick-up location. The transportation minimum is 5 guests. Transportation may or may not be available depending on the date. We cannot provide transportation if requesting it on the same day. Please contact us prior to your tour date, at least 1-2 days before. If coming from San Juan please keep in mind the drive can be about 1 hour and 20-30 mins depending on traffic.

The owner of the service animal must provide a Licensed Life-vest by the Coast Guard for the animal. The animal must be in total control all the time. Keep in mind that there will be many people around in the dark.
Minimum age 6 years
Guest under 18 yrs of age must be accompanied by an adult
For safety reasons pregnant women cannot participate. (NO exclusions)
Kayaks have a weight limit of 220 lbs. per person. (NO exclusions) To assure weight restriction is met, guests will be weighed on-site.

Guests must be able to row their kayaks - guides cannot help with this
Our kayaks are all tandem kayaks for two people - you are booking per person not per kayak.
Guest that are not able to complete the tour for any reason will not be provided a refund of any type.
All guests must be able to row their kayaks by themselves. One of the requirements is that you are able to get in and out of the kayak on your own and be able to maneuver it. If you are an unexperienced kayaker we highly suggest you choose the earlier tour.
If one space is left, that means there is 1 space (for 1 person) on a tandem kayak (No single kayaks available). You will be accompanied by another guest on the tour.
No Expecting Mothers
For safety reasons, children under 6 years old CANNOT participate in PURE ADVENTURE tour.
Those who have epilepsy, back problems, heart conditions, dizziness, recent surgery or any other condition that may put life in risk are not allowed to participate in PURE ADVENTURE tour.
Kayaks have a weight limit of 220 lbs. per person. (NO exclusions) To assure weight restriction is met, guests will be weighed on-site.

Cancellation Policy

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.
This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.

A Must Experience!

Hands down, one of the highlights during our family's time in Puerto Rico. Even for inexperienced kayakers, Pure Adventure made this experience easy and stress free. Natalia, Javier, Amaun, Enrique, and Catalina with Pure Adventure were a class act from start to finish. Once in the bay, the bioluminescence were seen better with the use of a tarp to cover our kayaks. The tour was even better when a rain shower moved into the bay. Highly recommend!

The guides were great. Company doesn’t provide mosquito repellent. Enjoyed the kayaking but would probably do the boat to the bay where swimming is allowed, if I did it again.

However, it is a natural mosquito repellent and not your typical brand to keep chemicals from reaching the water. The tour was a bit challenging but all the guides were very helpful. It was a full moon so we did not get to see the entire area glow but they brought a cover so we could see with our hands in the water.

Amazing but be prepared to get wet

Excellent! I wish there had been more guidance on what to wear or bring. You WILL get wet to your waist. A dry bag is a must if you want to bring your phone. They said you sometimes can tip over and fall in the water. I wore sandals, but they were not water sandals, something with an ankle strap would have been better.

Fantastic kayaking tour

A beautiful experience getting to kayak through the cove and into the bay, the guides chatted, pointed out stars, and were overall helpful. The bioluminescence was very cool to experience but it’s true that it’s not extremely bright and so there are times you have to be under a tarp to get the effect (that’s nature, not the tours fault), but none the less it’s so cool to witness. Also understand you are booking a kayaking tour, if you do not know how to kayak, don’t blame the company because you have a bad experience KAYAKING. I would say it’s an easy to medium activity level, if you actually follow their instructions! Overall it’s a wonderful experience to add to your trip!

Awesome experience. Challenging. Helped improve communication between my wife and I. We were on our honeymoon. Javier was extremely funny, nothing but jokes and humor from him, he was also well versed in stargazing. Natalie , Catalina, and Amavry were also very helpful. Fully expect you will get stuck in the mangroves, you will bump into other people's kayaks, it's part of the experience. If you keeps these facts in my you will have an awesome challenge with wonderful people :) You can elect for hotel pick up. I highly recommend it.

Our guides were great. We had a great time. I would suggest everyone to get a tour that starts while there is light, so they can enjoy the kayaking thru the mangrove forest. If you take a later tour, you will not see the mangroves.

Pure Adventure did an amazing job with this tour. This was our first time to use a kayak and were nervous about going through the mangroves. But the guides were there to help us navigate and properly stir the kayak. It made our experience enjoyable and not scary as what we though it was going to be. I highly recommend Pure Adventure especially if it's your first time to use a kayak. They are very helpful, supportive and very experienced. My husband and son got separated from the group and the lead tour guide sent one of the guides to look for them and get them back with our group. I highly recommend Pure Adventure. They're amazing at what they do. We never had problems with our reservation and finding their location. I would give them 10 stars if I could.

This tour did not meet expectations. I did this same tour 10years ago and was blown away by the amount of bioluminescent. It was like the movie avatar. This time we could not see any naturally and minimal when covered with the tarps. I would like some data to be shared to show us the best time of year to book a trip to experience max bioluminescence.

Hello Chris_N, Thank you very much for your feedback, and I'm sorry that the bio bay did not meet your expectations, I wish we could control that or predict it. Like you, I would love to see that kind of data, unfortunately, it doesn't exist. The bioluminescence has change a bit due to many many factors, such as global warming and sargassum bloom a few years ago, among other factors. It is still visible, everyday, but the intensity varies without previous announcement. Nature being nature.
