  • The difficulty level of this excursion is considered to be moderate to strenuous depending on your physical fitness level. It is very important that you are in good physical condition in order to participate and enjoy yourself. The terrain in the rainforest can be muddy, slippery, uneven and include river-wading, climbing large rocks and steep inclines. The kayaking can be strenuous when the current is strong and requires upper body strength. This excursion is recommended for guests with an active lifestyle. It is a long, but fun-filled day!
  • Maximum weight limit is 250 lbs per one guest and up to 425 lbs combined per kayak
  • Minimum age is 8 years old
  • Not recommended for travelers with neck, back, arm or leg problems or casts
  • Travelers should have a moderate physical fitness level
  • This tour/activity will have a maximum of 30 travelers

  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.

The hike was intermediate but it was well worth it !!!
It was also cool to kayak at night, I really liked this part.

I did this tour with a friend. We had a wonderful time!! Our guide Natalia and Bradley were amazing. We’re both around 30yo and moderately active. The hiking is not strenuous from a cardiovascular standpoint but does require so agility and small sections of climbing/using upper body strength to hoist yourself up. The whole group walks through the muddy trails to the river where there is a cliff jump and rope swing. This tour allows you to hike/climb further up the river to a natural waterfall slide. This part of the hike was optional but if you did go the water slide was the only way down. We felt very safe the whole time and had a blast with the slide and cliff jump. I wore a bathing suit under athletic shorts as well as hiking boots. You will get muddy but have the opportunity to rinse off afterwards. Don’t bring anything you don’t want to get wet. You can leave things securely on the bus. The kayaking tour was also wonderful! Our guides were a lot of fun. It’s 2hr round trip - about 30min of moderate rowing in tandem kayaks at a time. Such a unique experience to kayak under the stars and see the glowing plankton. I would do this trip again in a heartbeat!

We really enjoyed the hiking in the rainforest and the water activities in the river-super fun. The water slide was a bit scary at first, but I’m so glad I did it. The kayak to the bioluminescence was fun, but not good timing so hard to see much of anything.

I went with my friends on this tour in May 2022 and it was so fun! Our guides were Patricia and Yami, both knew what they were talking about and made us feel safe. The only sad thing is they took pictures of us on their own cameras but we never received them :( I didn’t take my own phone because of the water warnings, but with a secure waterproof bag you should be able to! It was a great experience overall.

So much fun. Rainforest presented us with some magical and cold water. The bio bay was under a low glow status but still worth going and seeing what you can and kayaking through the mangrove forest. Tour guides gave us free local fruits and beverages!

Rainforest and night kayak

We had a wonderful time with Luis and our other tour guide. I don’t remember his name, but he has been working w the company for four years and snorkels and finds all the Apple Watches. They were both made our experience the best it could possibly be and did more photography than I would see from most guides. If you are unsure on the don’t take your phone, don’t they have your back with pictures.

An educational safe adventure!

What a joy! Brad and Maxine were so knowledgeable about the rainforest and the different flora and fauna. We learned so much! We felt safe the whole time, and loved playing in the river. Plus, all the delicious snacks and drinks made the whole day even better. Then the restaurant we went to was delicious and super authentic. Finally, the bio bay tour with Inalisa, Fredrico, Miguel, and Brian was also very educational and fun and interesting. The bio bay was gorgeous at night, and the bioluminescence was fascinating.

The rainforest part of the tour was maybe one of the best things I have ever done. The tour guides were so friendly and informative. There was definitely some clink g and tight spaces. They did not lie when they said to be prepared to get muddy & wet. We were a bit underwhelmed with the biobay. The bioluminescence was amazing, but the the guides seemed annoyed/rushed the entire time. We got maybe 5 minutes of “free time” while we were there. The company they used was Kayak Puerto Rico. I would recommend booking a rainforest tour Viator and looking elsewhere for a biobay experience.

Definitely recommend this tour!!! The guides on both parts (Rainforest day trip and night kayaking) were incredibly knowledgeable and helpful! The tour went smoothly and they answered any and all questions. Be prepared for some tough trekking and a little climbing on the rocks to get up to the water slides, rope swings and jumping off the rock cliff (ALL VERY SAFE). Just follow the guide’s directions and you’ll be okay. Perfect day, a little muscle fatigue the following day but not too bad lol

Both parts of the tour were enjoyable. The guides were all great and looked out for our safety. The van that we rode in was packed and the AC could not cool it down so it was a terrible long and uncomfortable ride. The El Yunque tour was a very slow pace and we spent a lot of time waiting around because the group was so large. The Bio Bay tour was great just for the kayaking alone but the bioluminescence was really interesting to see.

Fun combo for a day of adventure!

My friend and I had the most fun on this combo tour! First, we had a stop at a yummy juice bar, and then we headed to the forest. The hike could have been challenging done by oneself, but our guides, Patricia, Paula, and Maxine, made sure that everyone was taken care of and had proper expectations about every part of our trek. They were also very fun and informative about the flora and fauna of the forest. More importantly for me, they were respectful of people's limitations while encouraging them to be adventurous, so I ended up doing the waterfall slide and rope swing though I am usually afraid of heights. Pro tip: don't scream as you hit the water, or else you get a big gulp of the river. :) Lastly, know that all of you will be soaking at some point and probably muddy, so plan accordingly. The dinner place we went to was also yummy and had food options to fit all budgets. On the Biobay portion, our guides (Miguel, Julian, Francisco, and I think I forgetting one name, sorry!) were also super informative and made sure that our group was respectful of our surroundings. They also set our expectations that things don't always look as bright in the photos, but we were definitely able to see some of the milky luminescence and just being able to kayak in the dark was a cool experience. We almost died.

We almost died due to a flash flood. We didn’t get to do the full rainforest tour but I’m sure the full thing would have been enjoyable. It will always rain in the rainforest but if it is scheduled to rain heavy from 12-4 highly suggest re scheduling. You don’t get to the rainforest to start the tour till almost 1 pm even though you may be picked up at 9:30 am.

The combo tour was the perfect way to end my bachelorette weekend. Everything went smoothly - I received a text message confirming our pick up location in Isla verde, along with the name of our driver and description of the vehicle. The bus took us to a fruit stand, where we bought delicious smoothies and stocked up on sun screen. Then we were taken to El Yunque. The hike to the water slide was very short - we were in a large group (20-30 ppl) so we moved slowly. However, this was perfect for my bachelorette party as it was just the right amount of adventure / hiking. We made it to the water slide and this was the coolest part! The water was amazingly warm. The guides were awesome and informative. We ended the hike with freshly sliced fruit, snacks, and beers. Next our driver brought us to a restaurant which had an amazing view and delicious food! This was a lovely break before embarking on the kayaking trip. The bioluminescence was really cool to see. This combo tour was the best part of our trip!! I highly recommend.

Patricia and Paola were knowledgeable, friendly, and fun. They told us so much about the rainforest, answered all our questions, and got us safely out of our comfort zones on the water slide and cliff jumping. The bio bay was a beautiful experience. Be ready to paddle hard in strong currents. Couldn’t recommend this tour enough!
