This night tour delivers that equality of opportunity, even if you’ve never tried kayaking before: it begins with a brief Kayaking 101 lesson. Kayaks are accessible to wheelchair users, with attainable adaptations for guests with a range of needs, while the weight limit is a generous 285 pounds (130 kilograms).

You know the bio bays are awesome otherwise there wouldn't be 10+ companies doing tours. The difference comes with the your guides. They we're excited, funny, knowledgeable, and informative. I had an absolute blast. Good for beginners and experienced kayakers.

Amazing tour

This was such a good experience! I highly recommend this tour! There was so many to choose from and I read all the reviews, looked at all the location options, and times. So glad I went with this one. The tour guides were very informative and funny. Erika was amazing on explaining the eco system and everything that goes on. The other 3 made the whole experience come together, Aj, Jamichael, and I forgot the other girls name. They give you a tarp to see it better if the moon is out and it’s harder to see. But it was so beautiful. Don’t bring anything you don’t want to get wet. Your bottom half will get wet. Bring mosquito spray!! They are bad out there. FYI you will not being able to capture this on phone/ video. It doesn’t show up. We tried photo and video on my iPhone, my husbands Samsung, and on the GoPro. I would highly recommend this tour!

The path to the bay was a really beautiful trip and it was a great way to get a little activity into our day. The staff was fun, knowledgeable and informative. The weather wasn't right to see the bioluminescence the night we went so that was disappointing but not their fault. Would recommend speaking to locals about the best time during your trip to see it, but definitely don't miss this experience/tour!

Great Kayaking Experience, Accommodating Company

The location at the Kayak Village was easy to find, and the staff were really energetic and friendly. There was a half moon, so we knew we might not see the bioluminescence well. However, the kayak trip out to the bay and back was our favorite part! It was fun to head out as it was getting dark, and we could see all of the birds flying in the mangroves. The ride back was in total darkness (a tour guide would turn on a light when needed), and we could hear the coqui all around on the way back. It was definitely an adventure! We couldn't see the glowing without a tarp overhead, which was a bit disappointing, so I would recommend doing this tour when the moon is less visible or the sky is cloudy. The staff were really helpful with those who were less experienced; I have kayaking experience and still ran into a couple of mishaps, which added to the fun for me. I did want to point out that many of the kayaking companies for the bay have weight limits, and Peniel had the highest I found. I'm 270 pounds and was able to ride in a bigger kayak with my 230 pound husband, and they never made a big deal about giving us a different kayak than some others. I noticed a lot of heavier folks in our group, and I just wanted to say thank you to Peniel for giving us an option to experience the bay!

Amazing! Well worth it. Definitely for those adventurous af!!! Tour guides were super chill and just being in the ocean was insane at night. Loved the experience overall!!! The plankton!!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 Looked like under water sparklers.

The experience itself was pretty incredible... as long as you don’t go in expecting the bay to light up like some of the photos you see on google. It actually only lights up with movement, but that can be seen by running your hand through the water or paddling the canoe. The tour company itself left a lot to be desired. They had 4 tour guides but only 1 talked, so if you weren’t next to the leader you didn’t learn or hear anything on the way into / out of the bay... and even when we were near the leader we didn’t asked questions with no reply. Long story short I’d recommend you go into the bay, just try a different company.
