We had such an amazing experience and the best ever travel guide. Rafael is amazing! The trail is crazy muddy (so do not bring any clothing you love, they will get dirty). We felt safe throughout the experience because of Rafaels guidance and helping hand to get us up some crazy rocks. We got to jump into the water off some tall rocks, experience rock water slides, do a rope swing into the water, swim under a waterfall and learn about the history of Puerto Rico while doing it. Rafael took amazing photos along the way so that we could just focus on having fun! Highly recommend this tour! A tip to share: don’t bring your phone or sunglasses as you will need to hide them in places when you’re swimming and it’s kind of a hassle. Wear tennis shoes that you don’t care about getting dirty.

Ian was an amazing tour guide, we honestly couldn't have asked for a better experience! I traveled with a group of 5 friends and this was our first time visiting El Yunque. We got a little lost trying to find the meetup point and Ian remained patient while he guided us to CVS. Once our tour started, Ian was a wealth of knowledge, sharing with us about the rainforest habitat, the history of the island and making sure that we felt comfortable at all times. Parts of this hike were pretty strenuous and required elements of rock climbing to get to the water slide. Our group was made up of people with different activity levels, but we all made it through thanks to Ian's assistance. (*Pro Tip: Myself and two other friends did both the hike and swim in swim shoes with a decent grip at the bottom, and this seemed to work better than our friends that wore sneakers..the trail is muddy and slippery!*) This tour was the highlight of my birthday trip to Puerto Rico and I would recommend to anyone in a heartbeat!

Total scam from the guide’s side

We’ve reserved a tour for 3 people for 9 am. After we had arrived at departure location I got notified that group had already left. The time of the trip was changed from 9 am to 8 am for less than 24 hours period and I’ve never got notified about any changes in my trip. I’ve been told that the guide tried to call me, but the number I used during reserving a trip was wrong. Which still brings a question- why no one contacted me via email, which was used during the reservation as well. After I’ve asked for the refund for trip I’ve never attended, I’ve been told by guide that I can’t get any refund! Completely unprofessional service! Be careful with booking any trip though Viator or with the guide itself. Super disappointed and would never recommend to nobody!!!!

Our guide was excellent! We got lucky enough to be able to personalize our tour. Fruits provided were a sweet touch. The waterfall and scenery was amazing. The swim was refreshing. Hike gets a bit muddy but well worth it. One of my favorite adventures! 10/10 recommend!

Once in a lifetime experience

Went with my brother and daughter (10 year old). Ian and Vanessa were awesome tour guides, were very knowledgeable about the local vegetation and the history of Puerto Rico and would stop to tell stories along the way. Ian and Vanessa were very helpful too, often offering a hand and making sure no one fell behind. One of them would lead in the front the other would go at the very end. The water slide, cliff jump and rope swing were all super fun my daughter said this was the highlight of her Puerto Rico trip and that she was so happy we woke up early for this. We got there early, so lines were very reasonable, would recommend an early tour as path fills up throughout the day. Would say that this tour could potentially be tough for the elderly or for people who experience knee pains since there were some parts that were difficult to climb. My 70 year old parents were supposed to come but couldn’t make it, glad they didn’t because this would’ve been a really tough hike for them.

The best time!!

Me, my husband and our 2 kids (9 and 16) took this tour and had the best experience ever. Our guide was Jose and his assistant Malcom and we could not have asked for a better pair. We are very unexperienced hikers and from the very start of the hike they were extremely helpful. Malcom helped me through everything and they both were so encouraging. There were a few parts of the hike that were very challenging and with their help we got through them. At the end my husband could not get down this one part and Jose had Malcom take him an easier route to make him more comfortable. We really experienced a true hike through the rainforest and the destination was absolutely beautiful and relaxing. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants an amazing experience and fun time. I would also recommend Jose and Malcom, they were the best!!
