What To Expect

Depart from a central location in Puerto Vallarta and board your powerful speedboat to begin your adrenaline-fuelled adventure. Glide over the water to Boca de Tomatlan, a secluded and secretive beach on the southern shore of Banderas Bay, surrounded by dense jungle. An impressive 4x4 Unimogs jeep awaits here to take you on an exhilarating off-road expedition to 2000 foot (600 meters) above sea level; journey to a base camp in the heart of the Sierra Madre Mountains while enjoying spectacular scenery and panoramic views.

On arrival, jump on a mule and trek higher in the sub-tropical forest to begin your white-knuckle ride on a series of zip lines. Soar over the treetops at high velocity on some of Mexico’s highest and longest zip lines, covering a distance of 1000 foot (300 meters) at a height of 250 foot (75 meters).

Continue your adventure by rappelling down a gushing waterfall, traversing suspended jungle bridges and splashing through rushing rivers and refreshing natural pools. Return to base camp and refresh with bottled water, fresh fruit and cookies. View action shots of your incredible experience before boarding the boat to return to your departure point in Puerto Vallarta.

Amazing time, all of our guides were excellent. I wish I could have brought my phone or gopro, but I could also understand why they didn't allow it since there were a number of water landings.

High adrenaline family adventure!

What a wild and amazing adventure we had! I wasn't sure exactly what my husband had signed us up for but wow.....jam packed adventure after adventure in a 7 hour day! We met at Puerto Magico to check in and get our tickets. This place is a small area where there are shopping, food and restrooms and an area to gather and meet. We got on a boat and took a high speed ride to the far south side of Puerto Vallarta. We went to a small beach town and got off the boat and walked through a beach village to meet our ATV trucks. 8 of us per truck and we went up a large mountain. It was a fun and rough ride as the roads in Puerto Vallarta are not smooth. It was a cool way to see the area. At the end of the ride we got to the top and were dropped off at Vallarta Adventures area where it is set up for all kinds of excursions. There is also restrooms, changing rooms and areas to sit and relax and play. They first fitted us for zip lining gear and gave us a talk about what to expect. The guys working that day were incredibly nice! Lance, Pina, Daniel were just a few of the incredible guys that helped us. I wish I could recall all of their names but they were amazing and made our experience that much more memorable. Extremely professional, funny and kind. After the safety talk, we walked up a small hill to meet our mule. This is where we were paired with a mule that had a funny name. Mine was Tarantula and he treated me well. I rode him up a steep dusty hill to the top. With that said, if you have asthma issues or use an inhaler, bring it! My husband has asthma and unfortunately had trouble breathing with all the dust kicking up riding the mules. At the very top, there is a water station. They gather us for another safety talk and that is when we start the zipline experience. This was my third zip line adventure but this one far surpassed any of the ones we have done before. The first two zip lines are your basic zip lines. Then you get to an area where you rapell down a waterfall. A little difficult for me but there were plenty of guides to help. Also I had my kids ages 9 and 11 and they were helped down by a guide since they are so light weight. At the bottom of the waterfall is cold water. Then we zip lined down and this is where you zip line right into cold water. Brrr! Takes your breath away but you warm up fast since it was hot outside. Then we went down a water slide which was fun! Next we hiked in a little bit and did some more zip line and ropes courses. Some were harder than others but I somehow managed to do them all and keep my sanity. One was pretty steep but the guide was very helpful. The best one is what they call the roller coaster one. I was nervous because they said at the end you fall into water. Of course that freaked me out and my adrenaline was racing on that one. It's a pretty neat zip line though. It goes on for a long time and it's scary in some parts. At the end you do get released into ice cold water but I was only under water for a second and in reality it wasn't so scary. My kids both got stuck because they are so light but thankfully lots of guides to help them get unstuck and they both loved it even with a drop into ice cold water. Then we hiked for a bit and rode a zip line that was like a surf board and you rode with a partner and that was pretty fun. Then comes another scary waterslide. This one was STEEP and I wasn't so sure. I almost almost decided to just walk it but glad I didn't. They do give you head gear and elbow/arm pads. I was kind of confused because we looked like we were going to play hockey! But boy was I glad I had that head gear on! The waterslide is so steep and goes so fast that at one turn I flipped and hit my head pretty good but was not injured. It's a fast waterslide and ends quickly. Kids loved it. At the end is some more water and a small walk back to our starting point at Vallarta Adventures. They help take off your gear at that point and then you have 45 minutes to change your clothes, relax and eat. They offered homemade quesadillas, tortilla chips and salsas at the end and they were delicious! You can also purchase your photos and videos of your adventure with them at the end. For $189 USD, we decided to pass on that but got a chance to look at them and they were awesome! Just couldn't justify the price. After we hung out for about an hour eating and relaxing, they take us back down in the ATV trucks to the beach area again where we meet our boat guide and ride back to Puerto Magico. This was an amazing adventure....maybe even a little too much adventure me being 48 years old but I am glad I did it and had this experience. It's pretty strenuous and scary at times so beware if you are not up for pushing your limits. Also this is an adventure for kids 8 and up and I only recommend it for kids that can handle this kind of excursions. My kids have done zip lining many times so they are not scared but I could see how it could be very scary for a child that isn't use to this. Highly recommend this high adrenaline and amazing adventure if you are ever in Puerto Vallarta! I can say that I would do this one again for sure.

Exciting from beginning to end. Really enjoyed the different variations of ziplines. The roller coaster and water slides were my favourite. A lot of activity to enjoy throughout the day. The staff was really awesome as well. Very professional and made you feel safe

It was our best zip lining experience ever! We’ve done many zip line excursions before but this was absolutely the best. Thank you Luis, Cesar & Yiyo you are all professionals and funny! Our favorite was the roller coaster zip line. The speed boat ride, the safari keep ride and the donkey ride prior to zip lining was a blast! We even saw humpback whale on the boat ride. I Highly recommend this excursion to everyone! We loved every minute of the adventure!

We really enjoyed the rollercoaster as that was something we had never experienced before. The different parts of the adventure kept the kids engaged and having fun. The staff was fun and kept everybody safe during the experience.

Fantastic day all around. Boat ride was great, zip lining was super fun, tried things I’ve never done before including rappelling down water falls and zip lining upside down. The guides were great and very professional but also light hearted. Beware that is requires a reasonable fitness level to be able to do everything. I highly recommend it!!
