From the start, it was the tour guides that made the experience fun and memorable. Chai, Chuy, Omar, Andrick, Jaime, Alexis, Maity, and Barraza were all friendly, funny, helpful, patient and entertaining. I'm definitely coming back to experience it again and request Boat#8!!

Just right

The hosts of the tour were so thoughtful in each moment - from clearly explaining all options to guests, to being transparent about the waterfalls low flow due to non rainy season. The “being present” just when you thought “maybe it’s time to go”. I very much appreciated the care and FUN this experience brought to my mother and I celebrating and early Mother’s Day ❤️
Fun day trip

Snorkeling was fun, but wish you didn’t need to wear a vest. Yelapa was cool, recommend the chairs in front of Del Mar. Staff was great.
AMAZING!!!

Snorkelling tour with no snorkeling!
Bradley_W, Mar 2023
I booked this tour as part of my 40th birthday present with my family as my children had never been snorkelling before. We were really looking forward to experiencing this together and seeing the marine life Mexico has to offer. The tour took us to the snorkelling point where upon arrival it was apparent that the water was full of jellyfish. We were told by the tour guide that it was "jellyfish season" and it would be too dangerous to enter the water at that point. We were then taken to another area but the outcome was the same. The tour guide then said that we would go to yelapa and hopefully afterwards the current would have washed the jellyfish out! We got to shore at yelapa and made our way up through the town to the waterfall. We were not warned however that as you get to the waterfall there is a local man with an iguana. My children were in front of me walking up and the man asked them if they wanted to hold it, which they obviously agreed to. There was no signage and I was not approached by the man before he spoke to the children and before I knew it I was having to pay him for letting them hold the iguana! This is clearly a regular thing and something the tour guide should have mentioned to us all on the way up to the waterfall. We departed yelapa and revisited the snorkelling spot, this was still overrun with jellyfish and it was announced that the snorkelling was cancelled. This was very disappointing for us as it was the only reason I booked the tour. The guide said that it was nature and these things happen, however he had previously said it was jellyfish season so there was an obvious awareness of this event and the possibility of not snorkelling. I don't think this tour should be advertised as a snorkelling tour if it potentially contains no snorkelling! Had I known this then I wouldn't have booked it and wasted a day of our holiday. I also purchased snorkels on board for all 4 of us and was offered no refund. The tour guide then said as we couldn't do that we would do a nature hike at majahuitas instead. We arrived at the beach at majahuitas. We were then told that the hike was a misunderstanding and that it would have been from yelapa to majahuitas but as we had now come from there on the boat that we wouldn't be doing that either. All in all it was a very disappointing day for myself and my family and I believe more clarity is needed when advertising this excursion.
Nice day trip

The crew on boat #5 are professional and welcoming hosts. The food was good and their onboard entertainment was great. The beverages were plentiful. Walking through the town of Yelapa is an eye opening glimpse into the daily life of Mexicans. It is a beautiful little town and the waterfall is worth the walk. Getting to the swimming beach was in my opinion terrifying. The surf was so strong you could barely get your feet under you to stand without being sweep back. The kayaking was lame but the snorkeling was pretty good.
Photo book is equal part waterfalls and beach

Fantastic crew, made costume changes and were very fun! Picure book was frustrating, only one member of group went to falls so half the book was wasted on just that one person at the falls. They don't adjust to make the book appealing to the whole family. Lots of activities like corn hole and banana boat rides were included. Great time had by all!
Great day out & fabulous crew

So much more than we expected! Crew was so fun and helpful. Had a blast, loved the smaller towns near PV
Great time

Surpassed expectations. The service was above and beyond. Everyone came around to make sure you had a drink when you wanted one and they were very punctual with all activities. You get a lot for what you pay for and everything we saw was absolutely worth seeing.
Decent tour

It was a good tour. Wish we would have spent more time at our first stop Majahuitas. This is where things to do at that beach were included along with water and beer only. We only got to paddle board before we were called back to the boat. Lunch was served way too early but it was good! Yelapa was nice. We took the hiking tour that led to a beautiful waterfall. Heads up, the water is very very cold at the waterfall. Yelapa beach was way more crowded than Majahuitas. You also must pay for everything at the beach in Yelapa, which the tour ended up spending more time there. Now I know why. The crew on board was excellent, always offering you drinks. They put on a funny rock show on the way back. Be aware that there are photographers on board always trying to take pictures of you at all locations, this is of course so that you can review the pics and pay for them at the end. Overall it was a decent tour. Make sure you take good shoes for when hiking to the waterfall. The snorkeling was nice, and the water is not cold as some imagine it would be.
Perfect trip!

This trip was awesome and worth every penny! The staff was amazing, food delicious, bottomless drinks (on boat and private beach). Our guide Ricky was hilarious. Only complaint about food was that we ate very early, but there was option to purchase food later. Snorkeling wasn't great visibility but we still saw some fish. Option to buy cheap snorkel mouth piece if you don't want a used one. In Yelapa you can hang on the beach or hike through town and to waterfall. Bring good water/ walking shoes. Last stop was an amazing private beach with all activities, and some drinks included. Even the ride back to town was a party. So much fun. Would definitely go again!

The crew were fantastically fun and friendly. Loved the scenery and endless blue water. Just wish we had more time for snorkeling
Wonderful Experience!

What an amazing experience from beginning to end! The crew on Boat 5 was great…very funny, friendly and professional. They made sure everyone was enjoying the experience.
Not totally worth it
Maria_A, Jun 2022
The crew was great, especially Luis. They were very attentive. To be frank, the whole Yelapa portion of the tour is totally not worth it. The eaterfall was almost non existant, not their fault though because its totally dependant on the weather.
Fun tour

Long review but gives all the info you need

WARNING THIS IS A LONG REVIEW TO HELP TELL YOU EXACLTY WHAT THIS TOUR HAS IN STORE IF YOU WANT SPECIFIC DETAILS. They left just enough time to enjoy the activities without making you feel like you missed out. You will pass by some cool rock and cave formations before the first activity. Can't remember what they were called but they were super cool, they get you up really close to it to get good pictures of it all. There are a ton of birds there and i even saw 2 small rays come to the surface swimming together. After that we did snorkeling first, the water was dirty but they got a lot of pretty cool and colorful fish to come to you, you spend about 20-30 minutes in the water. Then we arrived at yelapa, its a gorgeous small village on the rocks and mountains that makes you want to go move there immediately. Everyone is nice and a lot of the vendors took cards. Even the dogs were super well trained, they would come sit at your feet and be the sweetest dogs ever. At one on point on the beach there were probably ten dogs playing. They were fun to watch and didn't bother anyone that didn't want to be bothered. At yelapa thay ask you if you want to go to the beach for extra beach time or on a 30 min hike to the waterfall. GO TO THE WATERFALL! It is not a thirty minute hike but more like a 10 minute walk, its super easy. A lot of older people on our tour made it up just fine. The waterfall is small (probably just the time of year, we went in may) but really pretty. The land surrounding it is gorgeous. On the way up to the falls you will see a lot of vendors selling their crafts with decent prices. Oh, and the tour people will gladly take your photo at the falls. The walk from the falls to the beach is a little longer but not strenuous at all. Some stairs to hike down but thats really it, and you get to walk through the whole town to get there and trust me, you'll fall in love with this town! You walk across a large stretch of beach (people with iguanas will try to get you to stop and hold their lizard, but its not free, they were charging $5 per person per photo, so be careful of that scam.) At the end of the beach there is tons of relaxing chairs, umbrellas and tables. This is a restaurant, you can order drinks and food while you wait there (but the free lunch on the boat is delicious so I would seriously just order drinks if anything) you spend about 30-45 minutes here relaxing or playing in the water. You then have to walk along the rest of the beach to get to the pier to hop on the boat. There they will have lunch. (Hop in line immediately if you don't want to wait forever, it will be at the bar counter) the lunch is all the toppings you need for a torta (ham, turkey and cheese are available with veggie options, the grilled onions and bell peppers are delicious) they say they have salad so i got a big plate of lettuce next to my torta, but its not salad (they don't have a dressing, they just call it salad when they just mean lettuce for your torta) the pasta salad was dry but flavorful, I really liked the potato salad and the dessert is some samples of cheesecake pie they buy from the locals at yelapa (if you see a vendor selling their cheesecake pie on the hike up to the waterfall, GET IT! Its fantastic!) After the time at that beach they take you to one of their private beaches to paddle board, banana tube ride and kayak. You get close to an hour here. Warning, the sand here will damage your feet. Its more like small pebbles, not sand. I thought I had calloused feet but with the hot sand and the pebble texture it hurt really bad, please bring water shoes if you can! Here they have shade and bathrooms and i think they were selling drinks on the beach but im not too sure. You can't got out too far with the kayak and paddleboards but its still fun to get going. (The paddle boards do not have fins on the bottom so balancing two people does not work, they are 1 at a time boards) after your time at this beach the tour is over and they start heading back to land. The crew puts on a lip sync show that is a little funny and uncomfortable to watch (if you're an introvert like me that is xD) but they seem to really enjoy it so it was fun for them, they sing a few 80s rocks songs like guns and roses and such. They will onload at the Puerta valarta marina first before going to the next stop. (Not sure where it is because I loaded and uploaded at Puerta vallarta.) They ask for tips on the way out. This tour is booked through vallarta adventures, I wish all of my tours were booked through them. If you can just look up their profile and get it all through them. They are very professional and know how to have fun. You don't feel like its sketchy or unsafe at all. This is the tour company you need to see all of Puerta Vallarta!
Excellent Tour, Book Direct
Amanda_P, May 2022
The tour was great but don't book through Viator. Book it through the tour agency online and save some money. We paid about $25 more than other people on the tour. The tour itself is worth every single penny. Any amount I would have saved I would have given as more tip to Chai, Jaime, Elder,Alejandro, Esteban, Omar and the rest of the crew. They are absolutely phenomenal guides and entertainers. The food and drinks were not skimpy BUT the Viator confirmation misrepresented that Breakfast was included in our tour. We didn't eat beforehand because of that and no one elses reservation said that. It was a pretty rough start but the tour itself made up for it.
