We had a great time visiting Yelapa on this tour. The beach and surrounding area had such a great vibe unlike anywhere else we toured while in PV
The boat ride there and back was fun and entertaining due to the great crew on the boat. Great time I would highly recommend going to this gem of a beach.

Memorable day to Yelapa
TedWendt, Sep 2023
Was a wonderful day on our journey to Yelapa, unfortunately we went after a storm and the snorkeling was not as good as we would have hoped. Yelapa itself is a beautiful little town and the "onboard" experience was fun and entertaining. the crew was friendly and very helpful and made the day itself a truly memorable experience.
Look forward to doing this again!
Nice break with excellent crew.

Lovely day but most days on the water are wonderful. Best part of the day was the crew! Description of activities and location a bit misleading as I thought we were going to a town and could wander around. Not so. Also, food at Oasis quite bad. All that said, nice break from resort.
Great beach tour and boat ride

Great adventure

The tour was great. We love yelapa. It would have been nice to have more time to snorkel, but that was the only major concern.
The crew was very fun and...

The crew was very fun and easy going. The snorkeling was pretty and so was the water at Yalapa. Other than getting seasick was a good time.

Great experience, the crew was fun and super attentive. We loved the food, the drinks and the beaches
Exciting and fun!

The crew and Jonathan (Johnny Cash), our tour guide, were incredible! They were fun and knowledgable, and made sure that everyone was taken care of. Our snorkeling was exciting; the equipment was clean and in good shape. The meals and drinks were as advertised. Yelapa was very special. I'm so glad I went on this excursion!
Could have been better
Sudhamshu_R, Jan 2023
The snorkeling goggles didn’t work for us. The salt water entered our eyes and it burnt the whole time.
We were asked to pay for the transportation to waterfalls. The cost wasn’t listed in our itinerary.
Long day - too much boat time
dcshiggs, Jan 2023
Staff were awesome! Food was decent and drinks were watered down quite a bit, but big selection.
Too long from dock to Yelapa and back. Didn’t realize how long we would be in the boat versus how long we would have on beach.
We did see dolphins and whales and felt very lucky about that.
Overall a good trip but just too long on boat for us.
Amazing experience!!!

Snorkeling
Jerod_M, Jun 2022
The minute we jumped in the water we we’re getting stung by baby jellyfish. Couldn’t even enjoy the snorkeling.
No snorkeling season
HYUKjoon_L, Jun 2022
No snorkeling season due to the jellyfish. They will not inform you and just take you to the spot. Everyone jumped in and jumped back out right away.
Could have been an awesome day but was just an awesome couple minutes
Barbara_M, May 2022
This could have been a great excursion. Instead, I rate it low for a couple reasons. First, the crew was awesome. The food was great. But the ride their was extremely slow and what was to be a short snorkel was extremely long. The time we had at Yelapa was extremely short. The ride back was extremely quick. The reasons are obvious. Drinks were provided after snorkeling and on the ride back so they made them quick and made the ride there slow to cut down the cost of providing drinks but at the cost of sacrificing what could have been a great tour. We didnt have time to see the falls. We had time to choke down dinner and a drink before we were loaded back on the boat. The boat to the beach is extremely dangerous accept for people in excellent physical condition which elliminated half the people or more on the tour. I got bruises getting in and out of the boat. I sum it up by saying it could have been and awesome day but turned out to be an awesome few moments...
Not recommend

Complicated checking in.
Too long boring excursion > 10hours
1 h wait for lunch.
The beach was not beautiful.
Not a good tour, not worth the money or time

My wife and I have visited Puerto Vallarta 3 times in the last 4 years, its a great spot we spend our anniversary and we stay in the romantic zone where you are free to walk everywhere and feel some real culture. Its touristy, but not ruined by tourism with American, Candian and Mexican visitors taking their holidays there. We have done a few tours in the past, none are amazing since you're on the pacific ocean so its not a big "coral" area, but they are generally entertaining and fun.
My wife and I booked this Yelapa day trip which included breakfast, drinks and lunch. Snorkeling and a visit to Yelapa. Boarding was planned to be 9:30, and we arrived at the port at 9:00 am to get checked in. You choose your food before you board the boat from a menu.
The boat left about an hour late, we already had breakfast in the terminal since it didn't leave until nearly 10:30am. Breakfast was dried eggs with some chips, tomato sauce and some cheese. The boart was pretty slow and a lot of swaying which made some passengers sick, including my wife. It took about 1.5 hrs to get to the snorkeling area and another hour to get to Yalapa. Once we got to Yalapa we went to the restaurant where we had our lunch "ticket" and were told to the food wasn't ready and to order something else. My wife ordered a shrimp cocktail and we got some drinks. Lunch arrived and was the worst shrimp quesadilla I have had in my life (see pics), there was maybe 1 shrimp across 3 quesadillas and it was very greasy with cheese or oil, It was also lukewarm so I didn't eat it. My rice was like "pudding" and my wife's rice wasn't cooked properly. The salsa was dry and looked old.
The "tour" add ons were hiking to the waterfall but they said there wasn't much water or horse riding that turned out to be donkeys for an upcharge, or ATV's. We passed on those having already spent $60 per person on what we felt was a bad boat ride and bad food.
We told the waiter about my wife being sick and he suggested the water Taxi (since its faster to get back) at $40 per person, after I told him it was supposed to be $25 per person he said things had changed and he could do $30 per person, ( I was sad to see this part of Mexico is now trying to gouge tourists, we've been coming to Puerto Vallarta for years and like the fact it wasn't a tourist trap)..
Another waiter ended up getting us tickets but still twice the cost it should have been (its normally $20 both ways per person, so we should have paid 1/2 )
There isn't much at Yelapa other than beach restaurants and chairs. So we headed back early
Overall I felt the tour was poorly planned, the boat left very late, the food was bad, the boat took forever (I've done other tours where the boat moved at a decent speed). The staff on the boat were nice and polite, but that was the only positive in this tour.
I would not recommend it, if you want to go to Yelapa do a private boat or water taxi.
Immersive native experience but not that great.
David_D, Apr 2022
First, the tour left about an hour later than advertised. The ride in the catamaran took about 1.5 hours to get to the first stop where we were to snorkel. It was slow and people were throwing up 🤮 left and right because the water was so rough. They ran out of snorkels so my wife and I got to share one 🤨. As for the snorkeling, we were herded around by the tour guide for about 30 mins and then told it was time to get going, the fish life was meh.
As for Yelapa, the beach was nice but direction to the waterfall were pretty vague. We ended up skipping it because of time. The lunch provided was mediocre and pretty bland.
If you are on a cruise you should choose something else as they are not in a hurry. Originally they said we'd return about 5:30. Our "all aboard" time was 6. We asked again around lunch time and we were told we wouldn't be back until about 7.
The good, if you want an immersive native experience, we were there only non-natives on the tour and the guides only spoke a little English. The tour guides were very friendly and helpful. They helped us book a water taxi to leave early and race back to the ship. After the water taxi and another land taxi racing through afternoon traffic we made it back to the boat with about 20 mins to spare.
If you don't have a timeline to keep and bring your own snorkeling gear, and food then it's not a bad tour, other wise you're better off doing your own thing.
Tourist trap.

The trip told you to be at the marina by 0930 and then we waited an hour to board the boat. The add promised breakfast and lunch and told you to pack lightly that everything would be provided for the trip. The first meal staff served us was powdered eggs with chips and it was cold. The event is a snorkeling adventure and all the company supplies is a mask. The staff informed me I could buy a snorkel only. Staff only provided three paddle borads and three kayaks for over 65 people. We were dropped off at a beach for 2 1/2 hours and the included all you can drink alcohol ends when you leave the boat. The trip also boast you will hike to a waterfall. However, the waterfall was not there due to the dry season. The lunch was good and staff were very fun and pleasant. I would not recommend this trip for water recreation but I would recommend the trip for fun in the sun while you drink on the boat.
Best Trip Yet.
