When you arrive in Pula, you might ask yourself if you’re in Rome or Croatia. This tour is an incredibly opportunity to better understand the Roman influence over the city, especially in an area that is rich with Venetian history. The tour starts with a walk up to the fortress to better understand Pula’s position contributed to the city that you can see today. You'll wander through the ancient Roman city - seeing both Byzantine and Roman artifacts. The mosaics, which are not highlighted in the guidebooks, are truly incredible to see. From there, you'll head to the “new” Pula, see the Austro-Hungarian influences, and stroll through the bustling market. This tour makes an easy loop through Pula. Our guide was incredibly knowledgable, happy to answer questions, and quick to make recommendations.

The guide waited more than 30 minutes, as we were late arriving. He was very knowledgeable and well versed in the tour script. Overall the tour was excellent and what I was expecting. Although it was only the tour guide and I, the tour lasted about an hour. Maybe if there were more individuals in the group, with more questions, varied walking pace, perhaps it would have lasted 2-hours listed. Otherwise, its a 1-hour tour tops and doesn't include entrance to the arena. I'd recommend it to friends.
