We had the kindest tour guide! I can’t remember his name but I know they called him the Dominican Cowboy. He was patient, took lots of pictures, made sure the horses cooperated, and made sure we all stayed together. He was very attentive and I would recommend this tour 10/10!

I surprised my husband with this as a birthday gift! We had so much fun, the tour guy was great! He got the horses to run up and down the beach at the end, which was such a blast! I would do this again in a heartbeat. Thanks for the memories.

The trip wasn't bad so much as not what was advertised. They did pick us up in a random car with a person that could have been anybody, they did drop us off on the side of the road with 3 horses, the beach itself was full of garbage and the majority of the ride was more like a jungle ride. We got to a secluded area that would have been nice to stay a few minutes but our guide took a few pics with my phone and then we left. Not even 5 minutes on the beach and also not really sunset either. Our guide was friendly, as was our driver...although the latter didn't seem to speak English. I would not do this trip again, and feel like we overpaid for what we got. I'm truly not trying to bash these guys...as it wasn't terrible. I just want peoples expectations to be more realistic.

But, What If Things Go Wrong?

We were looking forward to crossing off our Bucket list “Private Sunset Horseback Ride on a Caribbean Beach” But then my wife got sick... worried we were screwed, I called the tour operator, Wascar, who was surprisingly so understanding and was willing to graciously reschedule us two days later. So when the time for our tour approached, the scariest thunderstorm we had ever been in, hit Punta Cana, flooding our resort and dampening our enthusiasm for getting on a horse on a beach with lightning crashing all around. Again, I called the tour operator, Wascar who understood and offered us many options, unfortunately we were leaving early the next morning and could not work this excursion into our schedule. But get this, WE WERE REFUNDED PROMPTLY and in full, with absolutely no problems. This is a sign of a good company that understands good customer service. Rest assured you will be taken care of.

Terrible terrible terrible

Terrible experience. Was picked up in a filthy vehicle and driven to a secluded area, not a horse ranch, where there were 2 teenagers that appeared intoxicated and were surrounded by trash everywhere. The horses were tied to trees and looked sick. I asked to be taken back to report but they insisted and I had to get angry and raise my voice until they agreed to take us home. My daughters were very scared.

The perfect honeymoon excursion

We booked the private option for our honeymoon. Getting picked up by an unmarked car is always a little scary, but our driver was so sweet. We talked with him about his love for dancing. We made a quick stop at a souvenir shop on the way to the horse ranch and found some nicely priced gifts! Then we got to the ranch and met our guide, Luis. Neither of us had ridden before so he helped us into the saddles and then we were off! The horses were very easy to ride and the trail to the beach was beautiful. This was our favorite excursion. There was a photographer that asked if we would like him to go along with us, but I declined. However, there were several times when Luis got off his horse, arranged our horses, and took pictures of us using my phone! He also taught us some Spanish along the way. We love Luis. Thanks for a great experience!

Our guide did not speak English. Made everything difficult. And the photographer didn’t do very good. We purchased them because we wanted the memory but should have been more beach pics on horses not just standing at the beach and couldn’t do ones of my husband and I on horses riding because we were never together . Should have directed horses so we could ride with our person!

The experience was fantastic! We are SO glad we chose a private tour. We encountered one large tour and it was chaos. This one was much quieter and more peaceful. Louis was our guide and he was fantastic. He was very courteous and even allowed me to practice my Spanish with him & he teach me more throughout. Our driver was Mamon and he was also super nice. Round trip transportation that was also private. The views on the beach were fantastic & our guide even allowed us to take photos and videos throughout both ourselves, but also he took some for us on our phones. It was overall an incredible experience!

We got dropped off on the side of the road with our guide and 3 horses. We were taken to beaches filled with trash. The photographer took pictures that we didn’t really want and told us the pictures cost $80. Fortunately we did not pay that. Local vendors will try to get you to buy things you don’t want and will continue to ask after you say “no”. My recommendation is to book a horseback ride through your resort. You’ll have a happier experience.
