Cheap coke cheap sprite cheap rum cheap food wrong side of the island to take a swim waste of time. The guide should have told us to go swim on the side where the boat arrived. Our side was awfull

Definitely recommend! We had an amazing and lovely experience. This excursion is full day you’ll be back at your hotel around 5 or 6 pm (what takes the most time is picking up and dropping everyone off). The food at the island personally wasn’t the best but can’t complain. The bus driver and information tour guy was very knowledgeable, kind, and friendly. Overall this island is amazing and breathtaking.

Great communication, and rite on time for pick up. kinda small van ride at first but you’re not on there for to long before you transfer to bigger bus. rum drinks was flowing like a river. The natural swimming pool is awesome. and the pictures the photographer take is on point. The island itself is very rocky, but a once in a lifetime experience.

Our guide Eduardo was awesome. He stayed with us all day and gave us clear direction. The island was beautiful and the people were friendly. The water was beautiful. The food on the island was great too. We got the lobster and it was delicious. The catamaran ride back was fun although a little long. Prepare to spend about 12 hours on this tour. We had a great time though.

This was by far the best thing on our trip to DR. The crew that picked us up was amazing, super curious, very attentive and on time. The entire experience is something that you need to do when in the country. The san bar, the island, the food served on the island, the catamaran, the speed boat, the whole thing was an amazing experience.

Catamaran in photo is not even close to the 1 we sailed on. OPEN bar not really rum, Kola, Kola Lime and water. Music way too loud and dancing a little inappropriate for the young kids on trip. If you want to just drink rum and dance this is your tour. Pick up at 6:30am then a long drive to boat. Then long drive back. We were gone for 12 hrs. Lunch was so so but very limited. Then a very short time on island.

You must visit Sanoa Island when in Punta Cana. The tour was amazing and our guide was very helpful and informative. We got to swim in the natural pool and also got buffet on the beach. It was a great experience. I would highly recommend. Best value for money.

A very busy paradise

Speaking to a lot of people beforehand and seeing other reviews and excursion recommendations Saona island immediately stood out as a must do. Here are a few things to consider before booking: - The island is busy. It’s the most popular tourist destination in the area - The island itself is beautiful and you can imagine how nice it would be if it was busy -The tour advert describes speed boat out and catermaran back which is why I chose it. A lot of tours left at the same time and I thought this way I would get to the island before as many tours got there. Annoyingly the tour was the other way around - we had a slower catermaran there and speed boat back so island was packed by the time I got there -The catermaran is half shaded and half not and will be full so make sure you bring enough sun block and clothes to cover burns in case you are in the sun -As others have stated, it is a long day. Make sure to try and get food before hand as it will be a while until lunch -tour guide and boat crew were absolutely brilliant. Funny and knowledgeable. Couldn’t praise them highly enough - drinks and food. Drinks were plentiful after the coach journey to port. No limit on drinks and could purchase additional food and drink at port but you don’t need to. Food is not brilliant but ok - you have to understand that it is prepared on the island and for a lot of people (2000 people visiting on a busy day) Overall it was ok. I wouldn’t recommend to a friend or go again but also when you consider the price and the length of tour it was reasonable value for money.

Go for the transport experience rather than the beach!

Overall the tour was very good. The main experience is the travelling there, so you need to bare that in mind. The speed boat was great fun but you must expect it to be very bumpy and to get damp. If you think and pay attention to the waves you can prepare your body to reduce impact. On arriving at Saona Island it looked stunning, we then took a walk through a lovely tree'd area to the other side where we got to spend about 2hrs. Sadly the beach we were on was not great, there were thick scratchy seaweed across a vast amount of the beach and in the sea. This took the enjoyment out of it, the waves were also fierce. Obviously no one has control over the weather and nature so It's a risk you have to take. Dinner period was very short due to many other groups having to also be fed. The usual range of drinks that you find on tour was available included. Or if you wanted a pinacolada in a whole pineapple you had to pay $10 which as a treat it's OK however we had DOP and got charged 600 yet on a previous purchase at Macao beach the same drink and cost of $10 we paid DOP500🤔. On the way back we were going via the Catamaran but had to initially go by speedboat and the transfer was very difficult. The day we took our tour there were several young adults, which made it less relaxing. I deliberately looked for a tour that wasn't a party boat but this one did land up being a party boat. When we stopped at the natural pool once again it was difficult to get on and off for a swim. Couldn't really see anything, it was only when we were back on the boat and moved off that we could see the giant starfish on the bottom of the sea. So never really got a good close look at them. So in my opinion if you are going to see a beautiful beach you are best off staying at your resorts beach. If you are going for the journey experience then it's right for you. I did enjoy but I could have enjoyed it more.
