I would recommend wearing long shorts as my thighs were a little irritated from the galloping and bouncing and rubbing up against the seat on the horse.

Transportation was okay but after the experience, they stopped at a smoke shop and stayed there for 20 mins, even though the rest of the group was tired.

Robbed, dangerous sick horses

Horrible. Robbed us. We paid Viator to get us horseback riding opportunity with this company. They took our money and never showed up to pick us up. The number they list is disconnected. We were given another phone number, called the owner and told him we can drive ourselves. We had to drive 20+miles 38km + to some remote area far away from Punta Cana called Macao. A mud pit in some random piece of land. A bunch of teenagers were there on horses, told us owner wasn't there . We saw malnourished horses with scars and hip bones showing in poor health and not fit for tourists paying too dollar. No helmets no safety gear no English speaking tour guide. He then messaged us via Whatsapp with abusive messages. See attached, claiming we lost our money and he was not responsible for our decision making to not ride dangerous abused horses with no helmets and in dangerous terrain. We feel robbed. We saw many similar reviews but only after we had already paid. Viator should take some responsibility but has done nothing other than deny our refund request claiming that operator told them not to refund . No insurance certificate posted !

If you want an authentic experience at Punta Cana then look no further. You get a real experience of punta cana here at the horse ranch. Not only just that, they went above and beyond by sharing some punta cana culture with the spices they produce from their farm, and are genuine people. So make sure you bring some extra cash to buy some spices to support the farm :) The driver was very friendly, informative and a safe driver that you can trust. I left my phone by accident when I left the car. And the driver was so accommodating, he drove back to get it to me. Will be forever thankful for that. Thank you so much for giving me and my wife an unforgettable experience.

Sammy was a great driver and made a lot of jokes. Joel was our guide for the horse riding. It wasn’t easy yet relaxing at the same time. It took a minute to get accustom to the horses but the images were worth it all. I suggest wearing comfy clothes and shoes.

Our resort had everything so this was the only excursion we booked. So glad we did!! Our guide, Joel, was very patient with the most novice of riders (me). He shared so much knowledge about the plants and trees that we were riding past and about DR itself. The horses were well-groomed and well-behaved; eventually I was able to relax and enjoy the ride. The ride was right at 2 hours which included a 15 - 20 minute stop on the beach to take pictures and enjoy the scenery. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone.

The staff was very welcoming and friendly. Once at the site, they taught a quick lesson of horse riding and commands for beginners. After that they did a good job making you feel comfortable with the horses. The ride to the beach was not difficult, and the scenery was amazing once reaching there. Would recommend if you're looking for a couples getaway or just some time away with friends or loved ones!

Don't Get Sick Before Your Excursion

Unfortunately, we were unable to go. My husband got sick the day after we arrived. I contacted my guide to explain why we have to cancel and he said he would contact the company to see what they could do for me, but unfortunately I am still waiting. As we all know we have no control if we get sick or not, but a little consideration can go a long way. All of my other excursions that I had to cancel with the smaller local companies due to illness was either partially or completely refunded. So if you decide to schedule your excursion with VIATOR, please make sure you and the people in your party don't get sick.

I can not say enough about how amazingly fun the experience was. It's been the highlight of our trip so far. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. Marcel was our pick-up driver, super sweet and enjoyable. Sammy with a warm welcome to their family-operated ranch gave an amazing presentation. Our guide Joel was the best. And then a drop-off driver, David was simply incredible. We were running behind for a dinner reservation. And he got us back safely with time to spare. If you love horses BOOK them!
