Please note that Nicetravel offers free pickup and drop off from hotels within Reykjavik. As buses are not allowed to drive in certain areas of Reykjavik centre, your pick up may be from the nearest bus stop. After receiving your pickup information, we will notify you of your exact pick up location. If you do not require hotel pickup, you can meet the tour at Nicetravel office in Fiskislóð 45M, 101 Reykjavik. Please notify Nicetravel directly if you intend to use this option and be there before 08:20. Pickup takes place between 08:30 - 09:00, so please be ready from 8:30 at your pickup location and look out for a bus with red NICE Travel logos.

Please check with your hotel if they can store your luggage during the tour if you are staying again at the same hotel after the tour. Otherwise you can use luggage lockers that are located in the center Reykjavík.
We can also offer you to store your luggage for free at NiceTravel office, located in Fiskislóð 45, Space M.
To avoid any delays on departure luggage must be in storage before pick up time.
It can happen that the ice caving tour is cancelled because of weather and/or safety reasons. Then we will find other activities when possible, and refund the price difference. We reserve the right to change the order of the activities and sightseeing of the itinerary.

Recommended to wear warm and waterproof clothes and good hiking shoes
Not recommended for travelers with back problems
Not recommended for pregnant travelers
No heart problems or other serious medical conditions
Travelers should have a moderate physical fitness level

Cancellation Policy

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

Great tour

This trip was fantastic. The views the scenery, the guide. The hotel was nice and comfortable. No coffee machine in the room. The only thing that let this tour down was the bus. It did not have usb by every seat and was very squashed with little leg room

We had a fantastic time on this tour with good weather, good luck on the northern lights, and careful planning of our guide Michel. He adjusted our itinerary based on weather so that we could see the waterfalls on a sunny day and also showed us a couple of extra stops. We saw many beautiful waterfalls, walked on a glacier and went into an ice cave, and were very lucky to see some really beautiful northern lights while staying at the hotel overnight. Highly recommend!

What a wonderful and unique experience! The glacier walk to the blue ice cave was so unique; the waterfalls were amazing. Christina was the best tour guide I’ve ever had - she was very knowledgeable, managed to squeeze in several extra stops on our tour, and helped us out during the excursions and took wonderful pictures. Highly recommended - the highlight of our trip!

Wow, I cannot say enough good things about this tour! Our guide Christina was fantastic. She is really what made our experience so magical. She shared so much information about Iceland while we drove from stop to stop. The tour was well paced with stops along the way (I never had the dreaded feeling of ugh when will I get off this bus haha). She was so kind and by the end of our two day trip felt like I had made a new friend. We saw multiple waterfalls, a gorgeous canyon, glaciers, an ice cave, beaches and seals! There is no way we would have been able to see so much in a short amount of time any other way. I traveled with one friend, but there were many solo travelers and a couple families as well. I highly recommend this tour and I’d definitely ask for Christina if she is available.

This tour was the highlight of our trip to Iceland. We were able to see many places in one go. The Ice cave and the black beach were incredible. Definitely recommend this tour. Our guide, JK was diligent and quite helpful. He made sure we follow all the safety instructions. I fell sick once the reached the hotel on the day 1 and he was quite active in getting me the help I needed. You can rely on the tour for a safe and enjoyable experience.

This is a do not miss trip. Jonas is the BEST guide. Small group of around 15 guests which is perfect for 2 days together in a sprinter van. There was a snow storm so our days were flipped a little but it was a seamless transition. The accommodations were warm and welcoming. As a solo female travel I felt so incredibly comfortable. From being picked up, to the accommodations, and everything in between.

The ice caves were definitely the highlight of the excursion. Once in a lifetime experience. Our guide, can't remember his first name, but I believe his last name was Ragnarson, was excellent. He made everyone on the bus feel comfortable and made great recommendations. By the end of it, the whole bus was saying, "YAY."

The tour itself was great, with interesting and beautiful stops all along the way. Our guide was outstanding and really made it his mission to make sure that everyone left having had a good experience. I wish I could remember his name because he was outstanding. The hotel was great for getting away from light pollution if you wanted to see the northern lights and conditions were otherwise good for it, and the staff at the hotel offered the best customer service (and their restaurant had really good food). The bus was a smaller bus and quite comfortable, and the rest stops along the way were generally really good. Overall I would recommend this trip if you want to hit several south coast sites.

This 2 day tour was not enough. JK was a great tour guide- had lots of info on Iceland and great stories. He drove us safely through some icy conditions and answered any questions. The hotel we stayed at was quaint with a large room and comfortable beds. The dinner and breakfast were excellent and a good value. The view of the aurora Borealis from our window was priceless. We had over an hour show. Nice travel was very efficient, timely and answered all my questions prior to the tour.

A great way to see Iceland in two days

We had an absolutely incredible time on this trip. Our guide Alfred was full of stories and information about the places we passed and the history of Iceland. On day 1 we visited several gorgeous waterfalls, Reynisfjara beach, and then on to the hotel. The hotel was extremely charming with excellent food and our tour group was lucky enough that the conditions were right for the Northern Lights to make an appearance! The next day, we met up with Passi at the foot of the Vatnajökull glacier and he took us up on to the glacier to see the ice caves. The ice caves were one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen in my life, they were absolutely stunning. After that, we went to the Jökulsárlón glacier lake and the Diamond Beach before heading back to Reykjavik. Throughout both days Alfred made small 5-15 minute stops to see interesting things he knew of, such as an old church built using turf and the remaining support from a bridge that was washed away in a glacial flood. I absolutely recommend this trip and this company to anyone!

Incredible trip! David was the best driver and guide, and is very knowledgeable on the area and its history. And this trip in winter was just stunning. Yes, there is a danger in not being able to do everything as planned because Nature gets a vote, and for that reason we didn't get to go in the ice cave. However David and the glacier guides were great at finding ways to still make everything worth it, even if it's not quite the original plan. Take this trip, keep an open mind about what you'll experience, and you're going to have an amazing time. I will 100% take a future tour with NiceTravel.

I know it's not fair to give bad review due to weather cancellation. But I think most of iceland tour operator does not set right expectation on the chance of tour cancellation. Do not book these tour without backup plan since they do have a very high chance of cancellation during winter, and it's typically cancelled hours or half day before pickup time. 3 of my 4 pre-booked tours were cancelled or significantly changed (degraded) and other than the northern light tour, it's also impossible to rebook after it's cancelled.

To be very honest then yes, you are correct, it is not really fair to receive a negative review which can have serious consequences for a small company like ours. We try everything we can to ensure our guests have a NICE and enjoyable experience on our tours - but the one thing we can not control is the weather and the safety of our guests is always our primary concern. So in our opinion it is better to make the difficult decision to cancel a tour rather than risk the safety of our guests.

Worth It

The 2-day trip was worth it especially the hike on the glacier on the way to the ice caves. It was relaxed and our driver and guide was the nicest person of all. Ole also drives well. We also got to see the northern lights while at the hotel. Thanks to Ole (driver and guide) who kept on checking any activity.

This is money well spent! The itinerary is well planned. Kudos also to Nice travel support team helping rebook the tour due to to back weather in the south. Very nice and takes the worry and troubles and took care of things. Reynir is our guide and he is very good and very knowledgeable. He has a lot of facts for the groups. The glacier tour was operated by another company areanged/handpicked by nice travel and they are also awesome!!! I fully recomment nice travel as your travel company in ICELAND they are the best!!!!!
