Fire & Ice Tour
Sebastian_M, Mar 2023
We had a most amazing climb up an active volcano, which was very cold going up above the recent solidified lava flow, followed by a leisurely swim in the Blue Lagoon, at freezing temperatures in the air above but surprisingly hot in the water beneath - fire and ice in both spots!
Great to see the lava field.
Roger_L, Feb 2023
It was great to see the lava field abd walk in the icelandic countryside. The only downside was that the advertised 14km walk turned into a 4km walk which was disappointing. It didn't help that this was in part due to some attendees not having the footwear for the walk.
Fun, good for those who want to be more active

The volcano stopped erupting several months ago (which I was already aware), but I was sort of surprised the lava was still steaming and you could feel the heat through the cracks. The hike was easy (for me, though I do a lot of hiking regularly)—the weather was as you’d expect for Iceland (snow, rain, sun, more snow, harder snow, cloudy, sun again every 5-10 minutes or so). The stop at the geothermic area before the hike was pretty neat too.
relaxed
Jaap_v, Jan 2023
nice hike to the lavastream from the vulcano. unfortunately we could not walk up the mountain due to to much ice. instead we went to the stinke holes a few miles further. a small group went to the bluelagoon. Which is nice and relaxing.
Brilliant day

Brilliant organised trip, on time pick ups and a brilliant hike. You can go at your own pace and the sights are amazing, 10/10 would recommend. The blue lagoon was lovely with the face mask and free drink. The tour guide was informative and helpful.
Stunning views and a relaxing soak
Charles_M, Jan 2023
The volcano hike was challenging, but doable even in snowy conditions. We made it as far as our guide Joseph thought safe to attempt (6.3km total) in the snow and ice but the view was stunning. We could see what felt like forever in every direction. Joseph did a great job of telling us about the lava fields and showing us the best way up and then back down the mountain. Magic did a great job with taking us along the icy roads! The volcano hike really made it feel like we'd earned our lagoon time, the hot soak after the chilly trek was amazing.
This is not a hike, it is just walk to the first viewing point
Milan_A, Dec 2022
Meradalir Volcano Hike is not even close to what it says in description. In description it says that hike is 7km each way. And also in email we were told to bring lunch and that lights will be provided. So everything was leading to conclusion that even if is short day we will reach volcano. Actual think was that we reached first viewing point and just stand there to take photos. For anyone who is expecting nice hike, this trip is not it. Blue laguna was expensive but well worth seeing. I would recommend to try it. We were told by driver that we will be picked up at 5 from Blue laguna, but they arrived 30 min late. Tour gide was not informative even if in description says that "professional" guide will bring us to volcano. So, in conclusion , only think that was as it says in description was Blue laguna
So fun!

It was a great hike and our guide was super nice! It was the perfect distance for a casual afternoon.
Ziggy is the best!
Julia_D, Nov 2022
Our tour was fantastic. Our guide, Ziggy, was amazing. He was super friendly, knowledgeable, and funny. He made our experience 100% better. I recommend taking his guided tour to anyone looking for a guide with a great sense of humor. Without him I don’t know if we would have experienced as much of the volcano hike as we did.
Worth It!
Sacred_H, Nov 2022
Our tour guide was great and the experience was amazing. The hike was only moderately difficult. The average person could do it (in my opinion). The Blue Lagoon was a great way to relax after the hike. We also stopped by Salthusid for lunch and the fish and chips were delicious.
Memorable

Worth every penny! Brisk morning hike to admire an active volcano and the surrounding breathtaking beauty of the mountains followed shortly by lunch on cool lava amidst little hot pockets of air escaping through firm volcanic rock. The cherry on top was of course the famous blue lagoon. Although quite busy it was everything I imagined and more. The excursion price not only covers admission, 2hr stay but also towels, bathrobes, silica face masks and a free beverage of your choosing.
I'll be back
Eric_D, Oct 2022
Guide was professional and courteous the hike up the mountain was worth the walk the only thing missing was the lava. The blue lagoon was great especially after hiking up the mountain
Fantastic Day
Bryan_D, Aug 2022
Once in a lifetime experience to see the active volcano. I’d describe the 14km walk as challenging more than moderate, but the reward at the end was so worth it. The soak in the hot spring at The Blue Lagoon at the end of the day was a perfect antidote to our aching limbs from the hike.
Good hike and great soak
Matthew_C, Aug 2022
This was an excellent combination. Longer at the blue lagoon than two hours would have been better though. Some additional stops were a nice touch. Tom the guide was great,. even though his language is a bit fruity. There was no flowing lava when I was there even though this is what was advertised. The blue lagoon is the best of the lagoons.
Volcano hiking and Blue lagoon
Bella_L, Aug 2022
I will highly recommend this trip to anyone who likes hiking. The volcano is active in these days and you can see it in action! This tour is very well organised and the guides are amazing!! The icing on the cake is the 2nd part of the tour - Blue lagoon, the tickets were included.
Good trip

vacano is great although it’s a bit difficult to climbing, shoes are important otherwise easy to fall. Will suggest go smaller group or private if u are more keen on hiking.Blue Lagoon is fantastic and very beautiful.
The walk up the volcano...
Todd_M, Jul 2022
The walk up the volcano had amazing views, while exhausting it was completely worth the work. The blue lagoon was the perfect pairing to sooth our sore muscles. The experience was 10 out of 10!
Excillirating Hike!
Alexandra_B, Jul 2022
This tour was amazing!! HBO our tour guide was awesome, he was informative, kind and conscientious! The hike was moderate until it got difficult, but HBO accommodated everyone. The views and the live volcano were breathtaking!! Then to top off with the Blue Lagoon was amazing, relaxing and rejuvenating!!
It was the best walk to...
Emma_D, Jun 2022
It was the best walk to Mordor we could've asked for. If you like hiking and being adventurous, you'll love this trip.
A great introduction to Iceland
Kevan_M, Jun 2022
Our brilliant guide took us to some hot springs and a fish farm, then guided us up above the lava flow. The views were epic. Then we descended to the lava, which was still warm in places. We stopped for very nice fish and chips before heading to the amazing Blue Lagoon for a good 2 hr dip. Well worth it.
