What To Expect

Be ready for early morning departure. Climb into a comfortable tour vehicle and depart the city, bound for the south shore of Iceland and the Glacier Lagoon. 

Once you arrive, take a boat ride among the icebergs. Learn about the formation of the lagoon and, which branches from Breidamerkurjokull, an outlet glacier of the Vatnajokull glacier. 

Back on land, stop at two of the country's most impressive waterfalls on the way back to Reykjavik. Walk behind the falls at Seljalandsfoss.

Seljalandsfoss is amazing but definitely bring a rain coat because you will get wet walking behind it.

Great tour guide, accommodating driver

Our guide Tom was excellent. Although the boat tour was canceled, he took us to diamond beach to see the icebergs of the coast and gave us more time to take pictures of them. He even worked with the bus driver Mike to take us to the other side to see the icebergs up close. The whole trip, Tom gave personal insights and stories about Icelandic customs and the Icelandic character. He personalized the tour and made it really enjoyable. The information provided in advance of the tour by written communication was clear and thorough. We also promptly got the refund for the boat trip afterward. It rained all day, making touring the sites difficult. But the warmth of Tom’s presentation made up for it. Mike the driver was great as well - getting us to the locations in the dark before sunrise at 10 am and after 4:30 pm - the two were a great team for this all day trip.

The natural beauty of Iceland gave us what we wanted from the day out. The tour was excellent and the driver delivered us home in time, safe and sound. It was a long day but a wonderful day. Our guide was a bit over the top for me. She was very knowledgable about the country and the information was well received. I found listening to her for most of the time on the bus too much, my ears were ringing listening for so long, sometimes a little can go a long way. Overall, a fabulous experience.

The tour was good. The guide tried to fit in a lot of stops so we could see as much as possible. The only thing with that was that it got to be a little overwhelming and the things that we where suppose to see as describe on the tour were cut short. The huge waterfall wasn't seen until after dark and although nice I would have like to have seen it during the day as that was suppose to be our first stop. Then we only spent 20 mins at Black Diamond Beach when it was said to be at an hour in a half. I go by the descriptions and expect that to be followed as closely as possible. Then if there is more time to fit other things in great. It's worth it but want to do what is describe first.

What a great tour. Monica was so knowledgeable, and we learned so much about Iceland. This is better than the circle tour, but it is a long day. To see the Glaciers up front on a boat was awesome. Diamond beach was a great experience as well. Take this tour you won't regret it.

Diamond beach and the lagoon boat ride were amazing. Note this was a longer tour due to the distance but so worth it. You get to see a lot of sites. Monika and Magic were fantastic tour guide and driver pairing! Took time to explain facts about the land and Icelandic culture. She even curated a playlist to play with parts of the tour. Monika also helped take photos which was great to commemorate the experience.

This tour we booked specifically because we will be getting 90 mins in lagoon and galcier beach separately but then I was little disappointed that we got only 20 mins. I would suggest people to note this and you get very little time in daimond beach and lagoon which crown jewels of iceland.guide Chiara was awesome and very knowledgeable

Saw some amazing sites. Great tour for if you’re staying in Reykjavik but want to explore the nature of the southern part of the county. The length of the tour seems long at first, but there are many stops and the tour guide kept things going with stories of Iceland and information so the time went by fast! Many of the stops are quick 10, 15, 20 mins so if you want to spend a long amount of time at these places then this would not be the tour for you.

This was my favorite tour in Iceland! Omar was our guide and was by far the best guide we had. The tour was long, but he broke it up nicely with stops and stories along the way to and from Glacier Lagoon. He gave us interesting information about the areas we visited and provided just the right amount of time for each stop. He was a very safe driver and you knew you were in good hands. The vehicle had WiFi and charging ports, which was nice on such a long trip. I highly recommend this tour with this guide, the sites were amazing!

It was a great trip but the guide Monika was very distracting with cross conversations and rude when asked questions.She was not a listener. I paid extra to be picked up and dropped off at the hotel, but instead Michael and Monika decided to drop me off at a bus stop at the very top of the road at 11:30pm at night. I was very uncomfortable as I had to walk back and find the hotel with my heavy back pack totally drenched in the rain. I felt very disrespected.. I did 3 tours with Viator and all the guides from the other tours were friendly and respectful. I need to be refunded the extra amount I paid for the pick up and drop off.

AMAZING DAY!! This is a must do in Iceland. Do not let the prospect of a long day send you elsewhere! This trip is well planned by Brentice, timing/breaks/Icelandic knowledge spot on. She is professional, witty and caring. The sites are breathtaking. I tried to send pics for some reason did not load, but pics are exactly as on website, what you see is what you experience. One word to summarize.. GO! Ps Alpert the driver is professional and exemplary driving skills you are in great hands with him.

I was hesitant at first on taking this tour because of the length and the long drive, but after doing it, I'm glad I did! We directly drove to the Glaciar Lagoon and the views were just breathtaking, I highly recommend taking the boat tour as you see the icebergs so close up! Also, you have a bit of time to go to the Diamond beach for photos with the ice chunks on the black sand :) After this highlight, we stopped at a waterfall where you can walk behind, which was another amazing part of the trip. Luckily, the weather was on our side and the sun came up all afternoon. Our guide Monika was absolutely fantastic and made our journey very pleasant, fun, full of trivia and curious information! I loved her passion for music as she had an Icelandic playlist along the trip which made it even more cool. Also, she made sure that all of us had our pictures taken, especially us solo travellers, and took amazing photos of us :) And of course, a big thank you to "Magic" the driver to take us back and forth as it is a long ride! =D

The driver was very safe and followed the rules of the road. Great driver, I felt very safe with him. The tour guide was excellent. He answered every question and was very informative. Great sense of humor and I felt he had our best interest at heart

The tour guide Jona and driver Mikhal were amazing and added in some extra experiences as time allowed, like a visit to the black beach and the restaurant there at beachside which was great! Jona provided a lot of information on Icelandic history and customs. The boat ride on the Glacier Lagoon was incredible. The day flew by.
