We really enjoyed Lalli’s tour. He shared a lot of information about the history of Iceland and its people. We had several traditional icelandic dishes (pickled shark, smoked lamb, pancakes, fish stew, fish and chips). Then we sampled various craft beers to finish the evening. Small wonderful group of 7 people. I highly recommend this tour

This was a fun way to see the major sites in Reykjavik. The culture and history was explained through food and beer. There is no better way to learn about Iceland.

    Wonderful walk about....

Without a doubt one of the best tours during our vacation to Iceland was the Funky Food & Beer Walk of Reykjavik. Funky Food’s Lella warmly welcomed us and created a friendly atmosphere from the start! Lella was very informative and was an excellent guide. Once she discovered my wife was an artist, she adjusted the tour to include a hidden sculpture garden. A garden we walked past several times and didn’t know existed. During the tour we were exposed to Iceland’s delicacies; flatbread with smoked lamb, meat soup, rye bread slices with mashed fish, smoked trout, dried fish with butter and my favorite, fermented shark. The Icelandic cuisine was complimented with valuable insight into the nation’s politics, culture and history. We ended our evening tour at a local brewery and sampled a flight of locally produced beers. We left with a better perspective of the island nation of Iceland. We highly recommend the tour.

Absolutely amazing! I had so much fun and learned so much. This was one of the highlights of my trip and is always included in the stories I tell. Not only did we get amazing food and so much information for such a low price but our guide was such a nice guy and felt like meeting up with an old friend! I'll be sure to rebook on my next trip to Iceland.

This was the best way to start our Icelandic trip! Lella was incredible and so knowledgable. She lead us around the streets of Reykjavík; making us much more familiar with our new surroundings. Not only did we get to try a multitude of traditional Icelandic foods, we also learned of all the rich history that Iceland contains.
