What To Expect

Begin your full-day tour with pickup from your hotel in the Reykjavik area between 830am and 9am. Meet your guide and small group of no more than 19, and settle inside your comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle.

Then, set out into Iceland’s stark countryside on your 11-hour tour. On route, listen to intriguing facts about the country, hearing about its history, geology, and culture from your guide.

Head into UNESCO-listed Thingvellir National Park, one of Iceland’s famous Golden Circle sights. Learn how it lies within a belt of volcanic activity, and is home to the mid-Atlantic ridge, where the tectonic plates of North America and Eurasia face each other over a valley. Walk between the plates as you hear how they are gradually moving further apart, and savor the experience of straddling the two continents.

Take a detour from the Golden Circle to visit the Kerid (Kerið) crater, a 3,000-year-old crater filled with a lake. Peer into the 180-foot (55-meter) deep hollow, and admire the magical-looking blue lake cradled by the red- and green-colored slopes.

Visit the Geysir geothermal area, exploring the surreal-looking landscapes on foot. View the bubbling ponds and steam vents, and see the Geysir and Strokkur geysers, the latter shooting water up to 98 feet (30 meters) every five to 10 minutes.

Stop at the Gulfoss Waterfall, taking in this beautiful 105-foot (32-meter) fall, and then continue to Iceland’s famous Blue Lagoon, a geothermal spa surrounded by lava-sculpted countryside.

Head inside (own expense, with pre-booking of your admission ticket required) and change into your bathing suit. Then, enjoy a long soak in the warm, therapeutic waters, lying back in the steam and admiring the lava fields as you bathe.

After about two hours here, your tour finishes with a hotel drop-off in Reykjavik.

Thingvellir National Park

Head to Thingvellir National Park, where you learn about how it lies within a volcanically active area. It's also home to the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet. Straddle two continents while you walk between the plates.

The Tour Guy was great, and sure did know his stuff on the Vikings. It was shame the weather was against us on the south of the island, but other than that it was great, especially the blue lagoon.

Amazing Trip, fantastic guide. All three advertised places plus a couple of added extras. All the “must see” places in Reykjavik in one day. Guide was fab with lots of great stories, both funny & educational. Would definitely recommend this to anyone going to Reykjavik.
Fantastic tour with wonderful sights
Shane_M, Jan 2023
It was brilliant to do and see so much in 1 tour as we were only staying for 2 days. Our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. The tour says it starts at 9 but we were collected at 8.30am so just be careful to double check. There was enough time at each place to see everything and enjoy ourselves. I would definitely recommend it to anyone going to Iceland
The Golden Circle tour was Golden!

The guide knewexactly when to leave so that it was daylight when we reached the most important places. The scenery was fantastic! The guide told great stories - historical and interesting. Also - he had crampons for us in the icy parts! The Blue lagoon was great fun! Worth it to spend the extra to get a robe and 2 extra facial masks!

Had the most amazing day ! From start to finish this tour was excellent. We got picked up just by our hotel, by the tour guide, who was very helpful and great all day. The things we saw were incredible, and we had sufficient time time at each location. It was very cold however hopping on and off the bus made regaining heat a lot easier. This is a must do when in Iceland. Iceland you are beautiful.

This tour was an adventure! Had to just brave the elements. It started raining & got very windy. By the time we got to the Blue Lagoon it was extremely windy & mixed rain with sleet. Got in the lagoon anyway. Glad we did! Had to hold on tight to out drinks but it was great fun.
Great day out
