From here, you’ll travel to the Langjökull glacier to embark on a snowmobile adventure. Before boarding your vehicle, receive a detailed safety briefing from your instructor and don the necessary protective equipment. Two to a snowmobile, you’ll ascend to the glacier’s summit and enjoy panoramic views of Iceland’s striking scenery.

Traveler Tips

This is a very good tour, but if your looking to go at your own pace this is not the tour for you.
And all the transferring from one van to the other is valid considering al the different terrain you need to cover.
The guides were lovely, and the trip was well worth it, even in winter.

Loved the whole day Lots to see, sometimes felt a good little rushed. That said it was absolutely freezing and didn’t really want to hang around outside too long Snowmobiles was fantastic loved every minute. What an experience

Sunny, superb snowmobiling
Emma_W, Mar 2023
The Golden Circle route took us to Gulfoss and from there we went by snow truck up to the glacier. It was an hour up and down plus two hours in the middle, about 45 mins getting ready and safety briefing then 1.15h on the glacier. It was great fun, with breathtaking views of the Iceland Highlands. My twenty year old son loved it. Definitely worth the money!

An amazing experience not to be missed
Josh_H, Mar 2023
A perfectly ran tour from start to finish, we made our own way to the meeting point (the BSI bus terminal) which was about a 20 minute walk from our hotel, the buses for each tour were lined up with a sign in the window as well as the tour guide having our booking details so we knew which bus we needed to be on. The bus was an extremely modern, spacious coach with plenty of leg room and room for bags. The coach was neither too warm or cold, (I do not personally like being too warm) so I was just in a t-shirt but plenty of others still had jumpers and jackets on as it was about -6 outside! Our tour guide, Peter, was excellent - very knowledgeable with good stories and info and made us aware of timings at stops and where to go and when to be back on the coach. The first stop was after about an hour and the second not too long after that. The stops were not rushed and we had plenty of time to look around including an hour's stop at the geysers where there was also a restaurant and somewhere to have a packed lunch if you brought one. The third stop was about 15 minutes from the geysers and was at a stunning waterfall. The temperature reached about -9 here and was definitely the coldest weather we had ever felt - until the snowmobiling an hour later! We got on to another coach (large monster truck) from the waterfall to take us up to the glacier which took about 50 minutes and we were given overalls, gloves, balaclava and a helmet for the snowmobiling as well as obviously instructions on how to use the snowmobiles. The balaclavas were perhaps not good enough for the conditions as they struggled to cover the mouth and nose so I would suggest taking your own and possibly your own pair of gloves if you have a pair of good ones. We had ours in our bags but didn't use them and wished we had. I had 2 pairs of bottoms on as well as 3 layers on the top plus the overalls and still felt a chill on the snowmobiles as it was about -10 and very, very windy so it felt even colder. All part of the experience though and if anything made it even better! There was an odd number in our group so we were told when booking we would need to book an extra snowmobile as it is 2 to a snowmobile and groups cannot mix, this was absolutely fine with us and we actually asked to pay for 2 extra so we could have one each! They said this was fine and we could pay on the day but when we got there and said we had arranged to have one each they said that was fine and nobody asked us to pay extra, no complaints from us! The snowmobiles were easy to use after initially getting used to them and managed to get up to a good speed - about 60km/h! We had about 40 minutes on the snowmobiles with a break half way to take pictures and could have easily enjoyed more than 40 minutes but also 40 minutes didn't seem too short. After the snowmobiles we were back on the truck to take us back to our coach which was waiting for us, this journey was a bit quicker than the way there as it was mostly downhill! There was a quick toilet break before getting back on the coach and going straight back to Reykjavik with no stop which took about 90 minutes! We got back at about 6pm after leaving at 9am and the coach stopped at some bus stops in Reykjavik so we managed to get off at a bus stop outside our hotel rather than having to go back to the bus terminal. All in all an amazing tour which should be experienced by anybody travelling to Iceland as words and pictures cannot do it justice. All 3 of us said the snowmobiling was one of the best things we have ever done!

Experience of a lifetime.
Nicola_D, Mar 2023
An amazing experience. Well planned. It was -20 when we went on the snowmobile, my only advice is to wrap up well and wear lots of layers. Our guide was really nice and considerate.

Exhilarating
Kerryann_B, Feb 2023
A range of different geological features to see, although The Þingvellir National Park and Gullfoss waterfall where a little rushed. Could have done with an extra 10 minutes at each of these stops especially as a geographer. What made me keep this at a 5* rating rating was the snowmobiling! This was an amazing experience. The location was superb, felt safe at all times and the experience was thrilling. Would highly recommend this activity. Still have a thrill of excitement two days after.
Would recommend!
Becky_C, Feb 2023
Amazing day overall, I didn’t give it the full 5 stars because the actual golden circle tour was a bit rushed, which I understand as there is some distance between each location and it is a long day but it is a bit rushed. When you get on the coach it’s about an hour or so to the national park where we got 10 minutes and that was it, the next location was the geysirs, this was so amazing and you get a bit longer, we had about 45 mins so got some food then went to see the geysirs, we had enough time to see them erupt a few times :) the next location was the waterfall which again you only got about ten minutes at so we didn’t really see as much as we wanted. We then got on a monster truck to proceed with the snow mobility part of the day, this was a 45/50 min journey to the glacier base camp. I sometimes get motion sickness and would just mention I started to feel really sick in the last 20 minutes as it is very rocky, so just be prepared if you get motion sickness. When we got there we left our valuables on the truck and proceeded to get our outfits which is a full snow suit, helmet and gloves. I would recommend taking your phone and zipping it up safely so when you stop during the tour you can take photos. After we were shown how to use the mobile we then started the 20 minute journey on the glacier following the guide, it was amazing but something we find annoying was that if you had slow people in front of you, you weren’t allowed to overtake so unfortunately we couldn’t go as fast as we would have liked, I think it would be so much better if they had 2 ‘lanes’ for people to choose if they wanted to go fast or slow. We then all parked up in the middle of the glacier for photo opportunities and a snow ball fight :) you then get about another 20 minutes heading back to camp. It was so much fun and I would recommend this tour! I forgot to say as well on the golden circle coach, our tour guide Peter, was absolutely amazing, he was so interesting to listen to he had a lot of stories, myths, facts and jokes to tell which made the journey enjoyable, we loved him!
Great day
elizabeth_w, Feb 2023
Really great trip, covers the golden Circle with the added thrill of the snowmobiling. Our guide was great. Recommend taking a packed lunch with you as you don't get long to stop and get food and the places you stop are super busy
BEST TOUR OPERATOR WE USED. BETTER THAN ICELANDAIR
Abigail_F, Feb 2023
The staff were brilliant! They were way more relaxed that us brits complaining of not leaving on time. The snowmobiling was a particular highlight. After a wobble and deciding it was too much for me, the instructors allowed us to travel on the back of their vehicles. Nothing was too much trouble and they were so much fun. Enjoying each other’s company and their fun was infectious. Sadly a few stragglers meant that we had our visit to the waterfall cut very short but that’s the downfall of mass organised trips. We were fortunate with the weather and it was the best trip on our stay in Iceland.
Overall good trip
Megan_M, Feb 2023
Overall the trip was good. Our guide was lovely, very Knowledgeable and up for showing us around and chatting to us. Plenty stops with toilets and lunch can be bought at geysir or gulfoss. I feel there was plenty time in all parts of the tour apart from thingvellir national park (only 30min, would have like maybe another 30 mins). Other than that it was really good! Tip for the snowmobiling: it was freezing (there was a blizzard when we went so no doubt that made it worse) but nonetheless - wrap up, then double it - especially the socks!! Their gloves are rubbish so if you have proper decent gloves (e.g. skiing gloves) I'd take them to wear instead. Also, the guy didn't mention that there is a button to switch on heated handles/feet bits which would have been delightful to know at the start!
Amazing day
Alison_C, Feb 2023
Great all day trip, didnt feel rushed plenty of time at each stopping point. Beautiful scenery. Snowmobiling so much fun. BG the tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly along with the very competent Polish driver, who kept us safe with everytype of changing weather you can expect all in one day! A must whilst in Iceland.
Amazing trip
Judith_S, Feb 2023
Great trip, chance to see the most beautiful sights of Iceland, including Gulfoss Falls and the geysers. Our guide Vlad was extremely knowledgeable and made sure we all had a special day
Boring Tour Guide
Cynthia_N, Feb 2023
It wasn’t a very pleasant trip. The delivery of the information was very mundane and the tour guide was more interested in telling us what we couldn’t do and the time we needed to be back on the bus versus what there was to see and experience. Neither the bus driver or the tour guide were very positive.

Disappointing and extremely rushed
Rachel_Y, Feb 2023
Sadly our snowmobiling did not go ahead due to adverse weather which was disappointing but understandable - safety first . All other parts of the golden circle tour were extremely rushed :( - we only had 5 minutes to see the Gullfoss and felt under pressure to get back to the bus on time. Tour guide was also pretty miserable and it felt like he was lecturing everyone all the time which took any joy away - it was as if we were bad school children! It saddens me to have to leave a review like this, however I did this same tour with another company a few years back and it was far better - timing must be improved - please remember people pay a lot of money for this experience and want to enjoy it!

It was fascinating seeing all the sights and the tour guide was very informative. The snowmobiling was the best part, absolutely had the best time.
Amazing experience
Linda_B, Feb 2023
Pick up and drop off we’re perfect. Tour guide Marion was a delight very informative and very good at passing important information on. Geysers were tremendous and we got amazing photos as we did at the waterfall. However highlight of the day was snowmobiling what an amazing experience. Could highly recommend this tour even though it was little expensive.
Great tour. Lasted about...
Angel_H, Feb 2023
Great tour. Lasted about 12 hours. Quick food & restroom stops. Tour guide was very informative about certain pinpoints along the way. Totally worth it.
