What To Expect

Start your afternoon with a pickup from your Reykjavik hotel, and head into the countryside outside the city to discover the country’s natural phenomena, historical sites and scenery.

Pass waterfalls and geysers, and learn about the harsh, yet strikingly beautiful, landscape from your guide. Then, hop out of your coach at Thingvellir, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and location of the old Icelandic parliament. Geologically, the site is significant, too. Hear about the ‘rift valley,’ where the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates meet, and admire the wild stretching plains that make up the wider Thingvellir National Park.

From the park, continue onward to Gullfoss, one of Iceland’s best-known waterfalls. Stop for photos, and then visit the Geysir hot spring area, home to Strokkur: a large natural spring that burst jets of hot water into the air.

Fees at all national parks are included in the cost of this tour.

Your afternoon tour then finishes with a drop-off at your hotel.

The golden tour trip was amazing and greyline looked after us from start to finish!! The national park really is something and such history!! The geysers were good and the tomato soup is to die for. Gullfoss waterfall was amazing and topped the trip off.

A great, compact tour of some of the Golden Circle's highlights

Good pickup and drop-off options (our pickup point was just ~3 mins walk away from our hotel in downtown Reykjavik). Knowledgeable tour guide. Comfortable bus with good air-conditioning. Well-paced progression through the three main stops. Sufficient time at each, given the overall length of the tour. One thing that could have been telegraphed better --> the length of time to get back to Reykjavik after the last stop. Make sure to use the restrooms at Gullfoss if you need to: you'll be in for a long ride otherwise!

The whole experience from the start to finish was top notch! Our guide was interested in where we are from, I enjoyed sharing travel stories. He talked about the history and natural wonders of what we were looking at. I was extremely impressed with the quality of the tour for the price. I wil definitely book with this company again

We had a great time laughing and smiling through Iceland Driver- Robert and Tour Guide- Gunnar were excellent. "Sheep" Thrills added to the mix. Sheep do happen in Iceland. Dispatch, GPS and Robert's Driving skills saved us from a long hold up. We always felt cared for and safe. Thanks from Lori and Alison from Ontario, Canada.

Our transport from the airport was delayed so we missed our pickup time. Grey Line helped by arranging transportation to the tour bus. There tour and your guide was excellent especially the water falls.

Another great tour in Iceland! This waterfall is absolutely amazing! It is a must see. The geyser was pretty cool too! Our guides and drivers on both tours were really great. Iceland is very beautiful and taking these tours was a fantastic way to see a lot of the country
Greyline failed to pick up and refused refund

Don’t book this tour if you are on a cruise ship. GreyLine failed to turn up and refused to return to port to pick us up 15 minutes before tour departure scheduled to start despite phoning them. Had emailed and phoned in morning to confirm pick up and we and another couple were waiting for bus 15 minutes prior to advised pick up time. Greyline said we were “no show” - it was their bus that was “no show”. Greyline and Viator both refused to refund our cost. Disgusting service and customer support. I would not recdealing with Viator or Greyline Reykjavik.

Ok but annoying in places

The sights were great and the journey relatively comfortable but the seats aren’t. Bus was full. Guide was good. I’d encourage you to be more strict when people don’t return to the bus on time. We had to wait 20 mins at the first stop and 15 mins at the second. It’s rude, selfish and arrogant and will only stop if they have to take the consequences. Bus ran off the road too which added another delay.

Pick up time was at doorstep of the hotel. Drop off was one block to hotel. The tour director was very knowledgeable and very friendly. Driver was very good and safe driving. Overall I will recommend this tour to everyone.

I booked over the phone and received multiple emails telling me the tour started at 8 AM. My error, but I did not read through what looked like the same email received later. On it, was the fact I was to be picked up at 7:30 am, not 8:00 am. No surprise, I missed the bus and wasn't able to be on the tour. I tried to call the number given in the email, but it didn't answer. It was an $80 expenditure, frustrating and a great disappointment.

Perfect tour for a day while on a cruise stop. Gray line very professional. Picked up from cruise terminal and return on time too. Darren our guide and driver were both very professional and patient answered all our questions and told interesting tales of Iceland too. Would have loved to stay longer at the waterfall
