What To Expect

Bring your bathing suit, and start with morning pickup from your Reykjavik hotel or cruise port. Then, settle into a comfortable, shared coach, and admire Iceland’s volcanic interior as you travel to the Secret Lagoon, located near Fludir in the Golden Circle area.

After time on the road, arrive and take in the fairy tale-like setting, made even more magical by the clouds of steam rising from the lagoon.

The geothermal lagoon is Iceland’s oldest swimming pool and framed by pretty countryside, geothermal hotspots, and a small geyser that spouts every few minutes. Fed by underground hot springs, the warm waters give off steam and stay at 100-104° Fahrenheit (38-40 Celsius) all year round.

Use the changing facilities, and enjoy ample time to soak in the waters, admiring the scenery as you bathe. If you’re here in winter, you may catch a display of the Northern Lights in the skies overhead as you bathe.

After two hours at the Lagoon, you embark upon the quintessential Icelandic tour to the Geysir geothermal area in the Haukadalur valley, where the Strokkur fountain geyser spouts water high into the air every few minutes, before visiting the majestic “Golden Waterfall” of Gullfoss, considered by many to be Iceland’s most beautiful waterfall.

Finally, stop at the inspiring Thingvellir National Park. Learn about the foundation of the world's oldest, and still functioning parliament, that happened here in 930AD. Then, view the meeting point of the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates that are slowly pulling apart.

After you will hop back inside a coach for the return ride to Reykjavik, where your experience ends with a drop-off at the cruise port or your central Reykjavik hotel.

please wrap up if you’re going during winter time, it’s absolutely freezing!

The pick-up operator did not tell us that our pickup location no longer exists so we waited near where it was meant to be. However after we called them they picked up ok. Once we were on the tour bus it was great and the tour guide was fantastic. So many great sights in one day, the secret lagoon is a fun experience.

What an absolutely fantastic day! This tour is a must! We had Gudrun as our tour guide who was absolutely brilliant. She was clearly passionate about her country and extremely knowledgeable. The tour would not have been as good as it was, without her. With her knowledge and experience we were able to go to places with less crowds to enhance our tours. We learnt things we didn’t know at all about Iceland. The crater and waterfall is out of this world and the secret lagoon was absolute bliss. We almost had it to ourselves! Would not hesitate to recommend this company.

I really enjoyed this tour! I was a bit concerned about pick up because I had read some reviews saying no one ever picked them up, and my concerns were valid as they sent 3 buses all from the same company and each of them simply called out the names of the people on their bus so if you happened to be standing at the wrong bus you might have missed your bus. thankfully i made it onto my bus and it was smooth sailing from there, but this process could definitely use some tweaking. Other than that it was a great tour! Very fun, knowledgeable guide (Yoseph), amazing stops, adequate time at each, not too much driving between spots.

Brilliant trip. I feel really privileged to have visited these parts of such an amazing and beautiful country. This tour enabled me to do this. Although expect a long and tiring day but it is definitely well worth it. We went if February and had different weather in every location. It was painfully cold at times so wrap up warm with layers you can add / remove. The guide Emily was friendly and provided plenty of facts about Iceland on the journey which was informative. Although I have not visited Blue Lagoon to compare, Secret Lagoon did not disappoint. I found we had just enough time at each location given the weather but being the exploratory soul I am, on own terms I would have had liked more time. But this tour is designed to get you seeing as much of thos amazing country in a day which it certainly does. We travelled with kids aged 7 & 11 and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves also. Highly recommended.

Scary but wonderful walking round the edge of Kerid crater then going on to bathe in Secret Lagoon. This was small but really calm and peaceful. If you go in winter, crampons good for the icy footpaths around the crater and in the national park. The guide was really interesting and informative and made it a wonderful day.

We had the most clear weather which was a bonus. Was a lovely mix of see and do with short walks, swim, views, and not too long stretches in the bus. We took a packed lunch and lots of snacks with us which helped with the expense but we had one big trip and glad we chose this one
