We are NOT on the West side where the domestic airline Air Iceland is located. Unfortunately our address varies between GPS types but one of the following should work: Building 313 / Hangar 1 / Nauthólsvegur. Dates: Daily Return point: Returns to original departure point

What To Expect

Choose from a morning or afternoon helicopter tour and travel independently to Reykjavik domestic airport in advance of your flight.

Meet your experienced pilot, and listen to a short briefing. Then, settle into your seat beside the pilot or in the row of seats behind.

Feel the excitement as your helicopter takes to the skies and gaze down over Reykjavik below, surrounded by a backcloth of magnificent mountains and the waters of Faxafloi Bay. Take in the awesome views as you swoop around Mt Esja or another local mountain, and thrill as your helicopter soars upwards to the top before gently touching down on the flat summit. 

Next, step out of your helicopter and drink in the sweeping mountain-and-city panoramas around you. Pose for photos and identify the different points of interest with help from your knowledgeable pilot. Then, climb back aboard and ascend into the skies again.

Experience the adrenaline rush as you fly over the edge of the summit, revealing the steep drop below, and then fly back over Reykjavik’s churches, rooftops and harborfront.

Your tour ends when you leave your helicopter and say goodbye to your pilot.

Please note: Landing on a mountain summit is weather-dependent. For this reason, the landing location of your tour will be decided on the day, according to localized weather conditions.

The best highlight of my trip to Iceland were the helicopter tours. The pilot was very friendly and engaging from the start explaining everything we were seeing and made flying even more fun. The stop at the top of the mountain was stunning and he made sure we were satisfied with the photo taking before taking off.

This was an amazing experience. To see parts of Iceland from above is beyond words. Of course it’s in the pricy range, but worth it. Landing on a summit, walking on the soil, and seeing sites otherwise not seen was incredible. I’ve been to Iceland 3 times now, this tour is a must for anyone who wants to see true beauty. The pilot was amazing. Provided information, answered all questions, and was skilled at handling the helicopter. Fear not, the pilot knows his job and does it with remarkable confidence. 5+ stars all around.

What an amazing trip this was, this was the icing on the cake. We booked this trip and due to weather (well it’s Iceland I. The winter!) it was rescheduled- I can honestly say the guys there were so helpful in trying to accommodate an alternative day. The trip it’s self was breathtaking- with spectacular views, I actually got emotional. Our pilot was informative, really nice and settled my any worries I had- even warned me when he was banking. Completely exceeded my expectations

The tour itself was ok at best, but for the price it is a little too short, was honestly expecting more air time. We got 10 minutes on the way to the mountain, 10 minutes flat time and another 10 minutes on the way back

Lovely looking helicopter, pilot was very professional, the ride was nice and smooth. Landed on the summit and had a good look round for 20 odd mins. Only one suggestion, maybe the pilot should fly over the 2-3 main tourist attractions.

What an awesome experience! We made a reservation months ago, not knowing the volcano would errupt and give us fabulous helicopter ride of our lives over it! Couldn't ask for a better pilot, more accomodating service from the office as I tried to plan this pretour of another company. Was totally worth the extra day in Iceland!!!

Our pilot was wonderful and made us feel very much at ease. The office staff was very communicative as we worked to reschedule a time, due to our initial our running into weather problems. We had a beautiful ride out of the city and we landed on a mountaintop, where my kids had great fun running to the top. The ride itself was more adventurous than I expected. I didn't know helicopters moved like that!

It may be unfair to compare it to Kauai, but that's the only other helicopter ride I've done. It was also very overcast the entire time I was in Iceland, so that may have put a damper on things. Anyway, the ride was beautiful and the pilot was amazing. We landed next to some craters and had the chance to get out, take pictures, and see some thermal vents. I would definitely recommend this. I imagine it would have been much more beautiful if it was sunny with blue skies.

This was absolutely amazing! The best way to end our short stay in Reykjavik. The pilot was an excellent tour guide and selected a perfect spot to land overlooking the city and the lava fields. This tour was fantastic. We were amazed with the views and it was our first time sitting on the helicopter, therefore we had our adrenaline rush. Super cool. We were impressed with the team's effort. They called us to confirm our schedule, reminded us and set another timing when the skies did not permit flying. We were lucky that we could land to enjoy the summit. This was a beautiful tour. We enjoyed the privacy of only being two couples. The pilot was excellent. We did think there would be snow on the summit but that was just our mistake. Short but really good. It was my first time in a helicopter, so that part alone was worth it. The views of Iceland are amazing, and landing on the summit to take photos and trek on the moss was cool. We had a hard time finding the place it's walkable from Reykjavik, so the pilot came and got us not typical, but we were thankful!.

I cannot praise this enough! Nordurflug Helicopter Tours were fantastic and went over and above all expectations from the staff in the office to the pilots - they were all exceptional. Unfortunately our flight had to be cancelled due to technical problems but this was re-scheduled for later the same day. In fact this turned out to be very much in our favour as we were upgraded to a much better and longer tour - fire and ice. This tour landed on top of a glacier which was outstanding and to make things even better the pilot produced a bottle of bubbly to toast my partner's birthday - what a fantastic magic touch! The views from the helicopter were just amazing - flying over craters and the tetonic plates, mountains, lakes and volcanos landing at the base of a the volcano with its bubbling water. The pilot Pilu was such a lovely bloke - knowledgeable and friendly and happy to take photos for us. It truly was an amazing flight and I think it absolutely made our holiday to Iceland incredibly special. I highly recommend this company - they certainly went over and above to ensure we were happy and it was very much appreciated.
