Not worth money
sarah_f, Mar 2023
Terrible trip! Driver stopped at one location only didn't even search for us to see the northern lights! Only saw a brief glimpse of then through his camera lenses on a picture. Very disappointed, only good thing was the free hot chocolate and pastry but not worth the money we paid!
Amazing Lights!

This was a fantastic tour. Our guide, Simon (aka Spicy Viking), picked us up at the designated time and took us to a wonderful, remote location where we viewed the most spectacular northern lights display! He also took great photographs of everyone in the group with the northern lights as our background. Simon’s relaxed and entertaining style made for a most enjoyable outing. Highly recommend.
Response from Host, Mar 2023
Dear Susan_K, Thank you so much for your 5 star review! :) Simon is such a fantastic guide and so knowledgeable about the Northern Lights. We truly are so lucky to have him on our team! We hope to see you again in the future! Kidnest Regards, EastWest Team
Terrible !
Amna_S, Mar 2023
We barely saw the lights, you could only see it through night mode on the camera. The tour guide said we couldn’t take the tour again bc it showed up in the photos. We only went to one spot and the tour guide didn’t even properly find the lights.
Response from Host, Mar 2023
Dear Amna_S, Thank you for your review - we are deeply sadden to hear that your expectations were not met during the tour. Our tour guides do know that though sightings are shown on the camera, that does not automatically mean that the tour is marked successful. We would love to hear back from you so that we can investigate this matter further - please email eastwest@eastwest.is. We look forward to hearing from you. Kindest Regards, EastWest Team.

Our host Simon was great, very entertaining. Saw it was only KP1 for our trip so went not expecting much. It was a very quiet night for the aurora. Have to say Simon wasn't giving up and being patient paid off. We go a short show which was fantastic. Hot chocolate was a really nice touch and there were loads of blankets for those not dressed appropriately.

Our tour guide 'Devon' was amazing! He was fun and certainly knows his stuff on the Northern lights and everything really. He went out of his way especially to take us to the best possible place to have a sighting of the northern lights, which we did and what a privilege to see them first time visit to Iceland, All the photos we have received are fab! We'd definitely recommend East to West tour booked with Viator and with 'Devon' as the tour guide...... thank you! You are the best :) xx

Northern lights show time
Julie_S, Mar 2023
Fantastic evening Jon- Pall went the extra mile to find some clear skies . We were all rewarded by his efforts. Some people were jumping up and down with delight at seeing such a good Aurora display. Jon - Pall took individual photos of all our group with the Aurora Borialis behind them. Small group tours as by far the best. We meet up with some other people on returning to our hotel who only saw a faint green glow in the sky they had been on a large coach with another company. Jon- Pall also sent a link to download all the photos he had taken from our evening out Perfection . Jon- Pall is a credit to the company.
10/10 would recommend!

A fantastic experience! Incredible views of the northern lights, great guide and a great group of fellow light dealers.
Great Tour

Our guide was delightful. He provided excellent background information on the Northern lights and history of the Vikings. Additionally we were treated to an amazing soundtrack of music. Our guide worked so hard to take us to various spots where we could catch a glimmer of the lights. Sadly, the weather did not cooperate. Despite not seeing the lights we had a great adventure 💚
Saw the lights so worth it!
Alicia_d, Mar 2023
The driver (completely forgot his name unfortunately) was great and accomodating with taking photos of everyone in the group. We were lucky to see the lights and he kept stopping for us to get photo ops wherever they appeared again. The hot chocolate was greatly welcomed when it was -11c outside!
Success on a very cold night
Jacqui_S, Mar 2023
Baldwin was great! We went out on a super cold evening (-9 C) and he made sure that everyone stayed warm in the van, unless there were reasons to come outside. We were one of very few groups to see the lights on our evening and he did his best to capture our pictures and the stars as well. His childhood knowledge of the area we went (Thingvellir) resulted in us having the area to ourselves and not returning disappointed!
Fantastic trip

Baldwin was a fantastic host! Engaging and funny and passionate for his job! He enhanced the experience

Devin was very knowledgeable and took us to some great spots where we were the only ones. We had hot chocolate to warm us up along with blankets and pastry. We had the best time. Would totally recommend this trip. This was our first night in Iceland and we had a great display of northern lights.
Amazing tour for Northern lights
Colin_R, Mar 2023
Tony was an excellent guide very knowledgeable and funny. He knew exactly the best places to see the lights and his hot chocolate and pastries were delicious. If I come back to Iceland I will be booking this tour again.

Baldwin was a great guide. Amazing night. We were lucky that the activity was strong. Enjoyed the small buss.
Amazing experience!

We had Tony as our tour guide for a Northern Lights tour on 3/14/23 (Small group) It was my first trip to Iceland and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. He was knowledgeable about how the lights operated, where the best chances to see them were by taking us on a journey into complete darkness. It worked out well because we were lucky enough that it was a clear night and they were beautiful! He did explain he could not guarantee we would see them as they are unpredictable and I appreciated the transparency. He even took the opportunity to take photos for us. Thank you Tony for a great northern lights experience 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Amazing

First attempt to see the...

First attempt to see the Northern Lights on 3/6 was disastrous -our guide wasn't very helpful or informative, never got his name, he forgot to give us the pastries, and the entire night was cloudy but he still kept us out for the full duration. Second attempt on 3/7 with Baldvin was awesome!!! Baldvin was wonderful - very funny and kind and informative. He made sure we were all comfortable and captured lots of great pictures.

One of the main things we came for to Iceland was watching the Northern Lights and it was one of the best decisions to get it done in a small group. Our tour guide Olaf was amazing, took us to 4 different locations and seemed really informed since the start point. He knew exactly which spots should we stop on and after minimal attempts of seeing the lights in each spot, we had a final stop where we saw the lights dancing!! It was a really fun tour and Olaf took a lot of pictures for us at each spot (don’t expect high resolution pictures if its windy and too dark though, its still gonna be something nice for memories). Olaf did give us enough time to enjoy the lights and take pictures, we didn’t feel in a rush at any point, in fact he was asking us to go down to enjoy the lights but it was really cold lol. One advise would be come really well dressed and take into consideration that it’ll be freezing outside (warm up your hands and feet). Lastly, the tour was well worth the money. Also, please be aware that seeing the lights is completely up to chance but I would recommend booking the first day you arrive and keep trying throughout the rest of your trip if you didn’t have any luck seeing the lights from the first attempt. March is a good month as we’ve heard a lot of days had good occurrences.
