We pick up in any Hotel in Reykjavík area, just keep in mind due to regulations some streets downtown Reykjavik are to small for superjeeps in those cases we use bus stops for pick up.

What To Expect

Your Northern Lights tour starts with pickup at your hotel in Reykjavik in the late evening for the drive outside the city. Meet up with other vehicles, and then start the search for the lights.

The route and stops you make depend on the weather and 'aurora forecast'; your driver takes you to places where you're most likely to see the lights, but of course this cannot be guaranteed due to the whims of Mother Nature. Efforts will be made to capture photos of you with the lights in the background, when possible.

Your tour ends with return to Reykjavik around midnight or 1am.

Tour vehicles have been modified with 40- or 46-inch (1- or 1.2-meter) wheels that can handle the challenging terrain of Iceland all year. They are equipped with fold-down steps for easy accessibility, leather seats, air-conditioning, Wi-Fi, GPS, first-aid kit, trackwell, and other security equipment.

Please note: the tour operator reserves the right to cancel this tour at any time, depending on the weather and sky conditions. If the tour does operate but the Northern Lights aren't seen, you may try once again at no extra charge. If all nights are canceled due to weather conditions, you'll receive a refund. It is recommended that you book your tour for the first night you're in town so you can maximize your chances of sightings, in case you need to go another night. Group sizes get bigger if several nights in a row are canceled due to weather.

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

Our driver kept us entertained on the way up, was great taking photos and very knowledgeable about the lights. Hot chocolate with vodka afterwards! Who could ask for more! My only advice...dress warm !! Got this checked off my bucket list!! 😊

Even though we had great conditions the lights failed to show. However, the tour guides were AMAZING- shout out to Palli - he gave us great info along the way about Iceland. I really like the fact that they gave you a free second trip if you failed to see the lights the first night. This is a great group! Sign up with them.

Amazing didn’t disappoint

Amazing Tour! It was more expensive than going on a coach but the extra cost is worth it. Rather than sitting in one location waiting for the lights, you get taken to amazing places that you couldn’t get to by coach in snow and ice in search of them. The guides are very knowledgable, the hot chocolate with vodka at the end was a great touch and just what we needed to warm us up! The lights were amazing it didn’t disappoint!

The super jeeps are expensive compared to other coach trips and can get you places that other vehicles can’t but if you are tall they are extremely uncomfortable to be in and very difficult to get in and out off if placed in the back . Would save the money and get a cheaper trip not worth the price .

This tour was great! We saw the Northern Lights from many different and impressive viewing locations. The tour guide was good, but did not talk a lot unless specific questions were asked. If you want to see the Northern Lights, go out with these guys, as unlike other operators they don't just go sit in a field - they hunt the lights and provide the best viewing scenery too! This tour is operated by SuperJeep.is, even though this listing markets it as a different company. This tour is not operated in a Land Rover vehicle.

This was and excellent tour, superjeep are the best, expensive but worth we had clouds in the sky that night but still with the cámara and ones your eyes adjust you could have a great view. I am happy with the tour.

The two Toby’s were brilliant hosts. Whilst we didn’t see the lights with our naked eyes, we did manage to get a photo which was pretty cool! This Company allow you to redo the trip in these circumstances, and we will hopefully manage to get back and see them at some point. The tour guides were really proactive in trying to get our group to see the lights, even stopping a few times on the way home in case we could get a view! Loved the jeep, also. Better than a bus tour in my opinion. Thanks to all at Superjeep!

Great night out seeing a mesmerizing light show. The superjeep is comfortable & the driver & photographer were really nice & had a positive attitude. They took great pictures of us and emailed us the link, which was included in the price. Plus the hot chocolate & optional vodka was greatly needed as it was frigid out there & you have to be patient. A splurge but worth every penny, highlight of our trip to Iceland. Dress super warm!

We found the communication great before hand with confirmation on the day that the tour would go ahead. The pick up was on time and Ants our driver and guide was very polite, friendly and knowledgeable. Unfortunately the weather was not as forecast so we ended up with heavy cloud and despite driving to several different areas, we did not get to see The Northern Lights. The offer to re book the next day or if you have left the country, when you return to Iceland was a great surprise and really appreciated. We would highly recommend this company, the tour and guides.

This is a good, yet expensive option for those who are not renting a car. The staff was friendly and educational. Only issue was people getting in and out of vehicle causing the light from the car ruining the viewing for those who stayed outside.

Enjoyed the tour and got to see the northern lights! Only downside was our driver was not super friendly and there was little communication on our way out to lookout spot so the ride was slightly uncomfortable and had no clue where we were going or how long it would take. Once we met up with the other jeeps, the guide and photographer was fantastic! You can take as many photos as you want and they set up around the lights to get your the best shot. Bundle up!!!! It gets VERY cold and you will want to be outside looking for the lights. The hot cocoa and vodka at the end was a nice touch! Great way to experience such an amazing natural phenomena!

Our guides made a commendable effort to show us the Northern lights. Unfortunately our viewing was less than optimal. It just wasn’t the right time. Our guides tried but we saw the faintest glimmer of a little bit of green. Hardly a memorable show. Our guides tried.
