What To Expect

Get convenient pickup at your accommodation in Reykjavik. Meet your dedicated guide and discuss the interests and preferences of your group; this private tour is customizable and ensures an intimate atmosphere.

The typical itinerary includes all the major highlights and attractions in southwest Iceland, known as the Golden Circle. Drive through the Thingvellir National Park, site of the world's first democratic parliament during Viking times. Stop at Geysir, the origin of the term 'geyser' in English, and the often-erupting Strokkur. Strokkur erupts every few minutes, ensuring a great photo op of the bright blue spray.

Visit Gullfoss, the most famous of Iceland's many impressive waterfalls, and return to Reykjavík through Skálholt, the site of the country's first Episcopal See, dating from 1056.

Stop at the Fridheimar greenhouse for a delicious restaurant lunch (not included) and conclude the day at the Kerid Crater, for the possibility to walk around the dead volcano.

Your private tour concludes back at your original departure point.

Iceland is so full of natural wonders. Each stop was memorable and beautiful. We can't believe we saw so much in one day. Our guide, Tommy, was so knowledgeable and helpful. We would highly recommend this tour. We even stopped at a dairy for delicious ice cream cones. It was more than we ever expected.

The tour was fabulous - our guide not only took us to the primary spots on the golden circle - but we also found a few surprise waterfalls and a dormant volcano to hike around and into the crater! A wonderful way to see the Golden Circle and to learn a lot about Iceland as well.

Our driver was very flexible. There were a couple things we wanted to see and he worked them into our day. He gave us time at sites and engaged with my 10 year old grandson who loved the ice cream and horses. Tommy was excellent!!

My husband and I had a great day on this private tour of the golden circle. Our driver/tour guide was very friendly and chatty and had loads of knowledge of all the areas we visited. He kindly made a reservation for us for lunch at the tomato greenhouse which was superb. I would certainly recommend this excursion for people who want a more personal experience.

We had a great time on our Golden Circle tour with Jon. We had less than 24 hours in Iceland, and the tour company was very accommodating with picking us up where we needed and dropping us off at the hotel to help us maximize our time on the tour. We saw lots of cool stuff, heard even more cool history and stories, and even had some free time to pop into Reykjavik for a hot dog on our way to the airport. I would definitely recommend this tour!

We had a wonderful trip to the Golden Circle with our guide Johann. He was a lot of fun and explained things about Iceland to us the entire time when he drove us. He got us a reservation at the amazing tomatoe greenhouse restaurant and snuck in an extra visit for homemade ice cream before lunch. He gave us good advice about other tours as well. We had a wonderful private tour by Anna of Iceland’s Golden Circle. Not only did we get to see the “Big Three,” we also had additional stops to see rye bread making; eat local, delicious, homemade ice cream; see a private waterfall; tour and eat at a tomato farm; and see Icelandic horses up close! Anna was extremely knowledge, personable and gracious. She told us much about Iceland’s history, legends and myths. There is a bit of walking on this tour… and Anna always made sure we only walked downhill! Thank you, Anna! We had a superb time and will visit Iceland again!
