What To Expect

Start the day with pickup at your hotel in downtown Reykjavík, then travel to Thingvellir National Park, a highlight of Iceland’s Golden Circle, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore a rift valley between two diverging tectonic plates, and visit Althing, the first national parliament of Iceland, and one of the oldest operating parliaments in the world. You’ll also have time to see the Silfra Fissure and Almannagjá Rift as well as Faxi warerfall before continuing to the Geysir Hot Springs.

Take in the volcanic power of the landscape first hand, in a geothermal field of bubbling hot springs and geysers, and watch the spouting Strokkur explode 100 feet (30 meters) into the air.

Your third destination on the Golden Circle is Gullfoss Waterfall, where the Hvíta River plunges in two dramatic steps, falling 36 feet (11 meters), then 69 feet (21 meters), and sending up a powerful mist. Make the final stop of the day at Secret Lagoon Hot Springs, where you’ll have time to relax in the mineral-rich water of the naturally hot pool before returning to Reykjavík. This tour concludes with drop-off at your hotel.

The tour guide was very informative of anything about Iceland you asked. The small group wasn’t as small as I expected. We were crammed in the little bus.

Golden Circle & Secret Lagoon with Your Day Tours
Nicole_W, Feb 2022
We were picked up at Hallgrimskirk not long after 8am by Dára, our guide with Your Day Tours. She was brilliant, so friendly and gave us lots of information and history about Iceland, she was very funny too and made me laugh. The tour itself was amazing, 1st we stopped at the national park, it was very windy and cold in the morning which made the walk through the park an experience ! She also added in an extra stop at a farm to meet some Icelandic Horses and sheep, amazing friendly animals. We also stopped at Geysir & Gullfoss, plenty of time to spent at each to and walk around and take pictures. To end the trip we finished with over an hour in the Secret Lagoon - so relaxing and the best way to finish of the day. Couldn’t recommend the trip enough ! The bus was small so only 19 of us, so no long waits hanging about on people returning to the bus ect. Brilliant day out, we were knackered by the time we got back to the hotel.

Superb trip - only 19 weeks Dooley on a 4 x4 minibus - very personal - the only way to travel - arctic adventures were professional from start to finish - well worth the golden circle your
Fun and Calm

Very hands off, but if you have questions ask! The tour guides are very informative and full of answers. The day was a leisurly fun water day with small hiking and sufficient time at each stop to get a good glimpse of what each area has to offer. The hos spring will leave you feeling very tired, but your body will feel so good afterwards! Highly recommend!

Off with Alf

Alf was our driver and guide. He was funny and wears a peach coloured hat. Alf is very passionate about Iceland and is good at conveying that through his excitement about the places you visit. The sites themselves are great and a must see. Last stop at secret lagoon was magic way to relax. Well done everyone, especially Alf.
What an experience

This tour was paced perfectly, with the natural attractions spaced throughout the day, meaning you were never in the minibus for too long. The highlight had to be the Secret Lagoon. More rustic than it's commercial neighbor, the Blue Lagoon, it felt more authentic & we benefitted by having less than a dozen people in the pool at any time, amazing experience to be swimming in the snow.

Nice Places But You're On your Own
John S, Sep 2018
Van and driver were on time. But once we were moving we heard little from our driver/guide. Very uncommunicative and sort of mumbly. First stop - he pointed us in the direction of a waterfall and said he'd meet us at the end of the trail with the van. So there he was after we walked through the rift valley but never asked if we found the waterfall, which we didn't. Lunch at the geyser was fine. Next the Gulfoss Waterfall - very nice. As was the Secret Lagoon, where suits & towels were rentable. More than enough soaking time. Only downer was a very lackluster guide but a good, safe driver.
Good Route
Jennifer_W, Aug 2018
Tour content itself was pretty and well planned. Only negative point is the short time at strokkur, as this is also supposed to be lunch stop. We could only look at the strokkur quickly and no walk around the rest of tje area. To stop at the lagune in the end is perfect. However I did not learn anything during the tour. The "guide" was a nice person but his monotone and silent voice made most people in the bus fall asleep. Most things I could not understand and at some point i gave up. Apparently he was a teacher before. As mentioned the guide is a nice person but not quite good. Also our tour was delayed by 45 min due to other guests not showing up. As I know other companies only wait 10 min max 15 if guests do not show. Or at least the guide should have accted faster. 3 points only for the beauty of iceland, not the tour itself.
Golden Circle and Secret Lagoon

This all day tour took us to several beautiful and/or historic places. We had ample time for a short visit at all locations. Our guide was not very personable. It certainly felt like he was doing a job because he had to not because he enjoyed it or his clients.
Loved our guide!
Catherine_H, Jul 2018
Our guide was so wonderful. She clearly loves her country and that made the trip all that much more special. She told us stories and shared a story about the old gods on the way back. We also got a top notch suggestion for dinner. We ate at the Fish Company. Do it!
Well paced and fun tour

Delivered as promised in the description of the tour. Oday our tour guide was exceptional. The size of the group was small enough to quickly gather everybody. Enough time for every stops.

Excellent tour, the guide Thor was very knowledgeable and jovial, the sights on the golden circle are a must see for any trip to Iceland, there were only 15 people on the luxury mini bus and ample time at each of the sights along the way, including a detour to see another waterfall Flaxi which wasn't part of the tour but the driver thought too good to miss, the secret lagoon was the highlight, even though the day was cold - the water was so hot

This tour was spot on. Not too long, but enough time to see all the best sights and the guide Sindri? was very good. The highlight was the secret lagoon - bathing in the hot lagoon in the cold winter is certainly a 'bucket list' experience!

Amazing!! Our tour guide was friendly, hilarious, and incredibly knowledgeable. He talked throughout the entire drive, from the history of Iceland and folk lore to fun facts and his personal stories. We learned a lot and had so much fun, especially in the Secret Lagoon. This was by far the BEST tour we booked and you should absolutely book this.

Apart from the late arrival of our transport due to inconsiderate travellers, who had changed their mind about the trip but not told anyone, this was a first class trip. The driver, Palmi, was by knowledgeable and friendly and all the sights were amazing. Finishing off at the secret lagoon was the icing on the cake. I would recommend this trip. It should be noted that the lunch stop was at a cafe so no need to take your own lunch. There was nowhere to eat your own food.

Our tour guide Thor was great. Good info, music, and personality. The Secret Lagoon was very nice and relaxing. We chose it because we did not want to go the super-hyped Blue Lagoon. The Golden Circle was the least interesting of our 4 tours.

allenkoss, Dec 2017
While we ended up having a OK time, the tour started out as a disaster....only the efforts of our guide saved a good deal of the day. We were told we'd be picked up at Bus Stop 9 which is outside and very cold at 9am when it is still dark in Iceland in December. While they said it could be up to a half hour wait, it was over 45 minutes of freezing before a very full van picked us up. After we jammed in, the driver took us to another location where another van filled with people was waiting. They had been stuffed in that van waiting for 45 minutes waiting for us so we weren't the most welcome guest. We picked a small group tour because i am 68 and have Parkinson's so we were willing to pay for an easier and more intimate tour... Boy were we wrong. There were only 2 seats left on the van... on in the very front which i gave to my wife, and one in the very last row jammed between 4 people... It was so tight i couldn't even scratch an itch... i couldn't see out the window and had no place to put the things we needed to get through the day. I could see or talk to my wife., the person I wanted to share the day with. We rode that way until for about an hour until we got to our first stop where i told our guide that i was very unhappy and it was of no fault of mine... I couldn't imagine spending the next 6 hours like this and i let our guide know that... When we got back on the bus guide salvaged the day by calling his office and getting permission to let me sit in the Tour Guides seat in front which isn't usually allowed since it isn't the safest. It is a jump seat that goes up and down so anytime anyone got on or off i had to climb down the stairs and let them in and then climb back up the stairs to my seat... this happened a number of times at each stop both getting in and getting out... try that with Parkinson's. Also, there is only a partial floor in front of that seat so my feet had to dangle or i had to sit sideways which wasn't comfortable. I thank our guide for his efforts.... he made it survivable. The sites were beautiful and we managed to make the best of it but it was more challenge than i wanted, not what we were lead to expect even though we paid extra for that small group tour. We contacted the tour company Arctic Adventurers and let them know what happened but they never got back to us with a response.
