Park at “Thingvellir P5” & walk 400m back along the road until you reach a smaller car park with all the snorkel & dive vans. Please be there, ready to meet your guide 15 min before your tour is due to begin. Stick to main roads & dont take any short cuts to Silfra, especially in winter.

All participants must know how to swim and be comfortable in water
All participants must be able to communicate in English
Please note that that dry suits can sometimes feel quite tight and constricting, especially around the neck and wrists
Minimum age is 12 years, please reach out regarding younger participants & Participants over the age of 65 need to get a physicians approval
Be at minimum 150cm (4’9) tall / maximum 200cm (6’7) tall, and be at minimum 50kg (99 lbs) / maximum 120kg (264 lbs)

Don't wear glasses, instead bring contact lenses or your own prescription mask (if you have one)
Most travelers can participate
Recommended to bring a change of clothes (the drysuit has a very small chance of leaking)
We recommend wearing long thermal underwear and thick wool socks a a base layer under the drysuit
All participants heights, weights and age must be provided to local operator. If you do not provide at time of booking, please contact supplier immediately after booking to provide this information
All participants will need to fill out a medical form before participating in the tour. Please find a link to the medical statement on your ticket voucher right after booking the experience to be sure if you qualify.
Please dress according to weather - no heals or jeans
Note: Each guide can assist one group of up to six participants at a time. Up to three different groups can be present during this activity.
Not recommended for people with claustrophobia (Wetsuit can be a better option if you are)
This tour/activity will have a maximum of 12 travelers

Cancellation Policy

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

This is absolutely magical of a place! Gretar took amazing care of us. He went above and beyond to ensure all of our dry suites were properly put on. He took great photos of us on his gopro and promptly shared it with us. Highly recommend this tour!

Excellent experience. Interesting Cold but not ùnbareable - did regret wearing dry suit as very uncomfortable and although booked for normal wet suit was given drysuit. Ppl who did wear wet suits said it was absolutely fine (june)

This was the coolest experience! The clarity of the water was amazing and felt like you were in a different world compared to the view from the surface. Our guide was very knowledgeable and took great pics for us to share. Definitely a must do when visiting the area!

My husband and son said that it was fantastic. Their guide (Luis) was informative and very personable. The drysuit kept them warm. It was weird when walking on land, but changed once you were in the water. You could see a long way down below. Was crystal clear. Also, you could see a lot of fish, algae, rock formations and caverns.

The guide was awesome- Grezar. He was very funny and made sure we were comfortable. Water was very cold on your face/ lips and slightly on hands, but 2 layered wet suit with your own base layer underneath kept the rest of our bodies warm. Most of the time of excursion is putting on gear, but snorkeling itself was a little exhausting so you wouldn’t want to do it for much longer. Awesome experience though.

What an incredible, once in a lifetime experience that can only be done in Iceland! The colours and visibility in the water were unbelievable! Overall this experience was great! All of the staff were incredibly friendly and helped us through the occasional moments of panic in our group, fear of cold water (we knew it was going to be cold but knowing and actually getting into the water are very different things). We all felt super safe during the entire process and we all had a great time. The pictures we got at the end were great and a nice addition to our trip's photo album.

Lotta was an amazing tour guide, extremely informative explaining instructions and things during the trek. She took pictures and made suggestions of how to try to take different poses. She was attentive, aware, and on the ball when we saw a fish and I asked if she could snap a picture of it for our excursion photo's. Cold only around small portion of cheeks and forehead. Hands were a tolerable cold. Great adventure. So glad I did it. I loved it. Thank you so much Lotta!

Sandro was a great guide, he made sure everyone was comfortable in the drysuits and at ease in the water. We had to spend a while waiting in full gear in line to get in the water, but the guide made sure we were not too hot. The water felt very cold on the lips (the only exposed skin) at first, but we got used to it very quickly and even after 30 minutes in the water didn’t feel cold. The visibility in the water is truly amazing!
