What To Expect

Snæfellsnes is a beautiful peninsula located on the west side of Iceland. The stories of the hidden powers of Snæfellsjökull glacier have traveled the world.

The tour takes you to Djúpalónssandur; a tranquil, black-pebbled beach that offers beautiful views out to the sea and fascinating history.

Enjoy the sight of Kirkjufell, a mountain known for its beauty and unique symmetric shape, and probably the most photographed mountain in all of Iceland.

Travelling through the Snæfellsnes peninsula and Snæfellsjökull National Park you will experience the small village of Arnarstapi and the dramatic landscape of Hellnar where you can enjoy lunch at a sweet café by the shore (lunch not included).

With some additional stops along the route we hope you’ll feel the magical influence of the Snæfellsjökull glacier.

Great tour

Einar was a great tour guide and very knowledgeable. He gave us a great sense of Icelandic culture. He was also hilarious and had good taste in music! We felt we had sufficient time at each stop, and that Viator had prepared us in advance as to what to wear or expect. Overall recommend this tour to all.

Varied tour with lots of breathtaking scenery. Excellent tour guide. Tremendous driver! We were caught in a storm coming back. The road was closed for an hour due to a accident. The driver got us back safely. Wonderful day!

Even with yucky weather the sites were absolutely stunning! The final destination was easily the most beautiful thing we saw. We would recommend this tour to anyone. we tried to get the most out of the tour and this one was it, no question asked!

Incredible tour! I never would have been able to pack in as much as our guide did. Very long day, but got to see any number of different attractions in snaefellsnes. Our guide was fantastic! Set expectations, was welcoming, and built in ample bio/coffee breaks. The pickup from a central bus stop was easy enough too. Would recommend this tour to anyone going to Iceland!

You get more than what you paid for, theres a lot of tourist site stop, the driver/guide was excellent and entertaining, just a piece of advice to take a lot of rest before you take this trip because theres a lot of hike needed for this tour

This was the tour I knew the least about when I booked it and I'm so glad we went. The experiences at the black sand beach, walking along the cliffs at Arnarstapi, the mountains and waterfalls at Kirkjufell, I could go on and on. The tour made the perfect number of stops and our tour guide Elli was lovely. I should note that we were lucky to have the most beautiful sunny day, so I'm sure that contributed to our experience.

Bus was comfortable. There were stops to use facilities and get something to eat or drink. The scenery was very nice. At the end of the trip we were dropped off our hotel which was helpful, The guide was good as she did not fell necessary to speak every minute of the tour.

This tour was fantastic- our guide was knowledgable about the sites we saw, Icelandic history, society and culture, and the environment. She was friendly and so helpful. I was on the trip with my 6 year old son and he learned so much and had a great time! The landscape and sites speak for themselves! Incredible trip!

It was a long day of touring, but it was informative and we got to see another side of Iceland. Lots of getting on and off bus for short 15 - 20 minute stops, but there is a lot of ground to cover in one day. Our guide shared some good stories and interesting tidbits. The cave tour was short and sweet, but it's not for those with limited mobility. We had to wait in the middle of the cave tour while our guide escorted one of the elderly gentleman back upstairs. There were a lot of single travelers on this tour. I spent a lot of time napping in between stops.

Good tour. Very scenic. I felt that there were a good number of stops so that you didn't feel like you were stuck on a bus, however, I felt that we were rushed during our scenic stops and that the lunch stop and first bathroom break stops were a bit too long which is pretty typical for tours in my experience!. I enjoyed being on the mini bus as that meant we had a closer-knit group and offloading/loading times were quicker. Although the mini bus did have wifi, it did not have connection for most of the trip just towards the beginning and end, when we were closer to Reykjavik. Disa, our guide and driver, was great! She was able to tell us facts about what we were seeing and about Iceland in general while driving!

Snaefellsjokull was my absolute favorite part of Iceland. I was debating between going here and going to South Iceland since I had a limited amount of time to travel, and I'm so glad I went here. The lava cave was fascinating, and the sights were absolutely beautiful. Lorenzo was our guide for the day, and he did a fantastic job of telling us about Icelandic scenery and culture. Definitely recommend this!
